Group B resumes at the Copa America on Wednesday and Jamie Kennedy is backing Ecuador to earn a narrow win against Jamaica.
Ecuador vs Jamaica (Wednesday, 23:00)
Both Ecuador and Jamaica will be looking to kick-start their Copa America campaigns when the two side’s meet at the Allegiant Stadium on Wednesday night.
Felix Sanchez's 10-man side stumbled to a surprising 2-1 defeat against Venezuela in their opening match of the tournament.
Jamaica also came out of their matchday one encounter empty-handed after falling to a 1-0 defeat against Mexico.
Consequently, both sides will be desperately targeting a victory in Wednesday night’s clash in Nevada.
Betfred make Ecuador 1/2 favourites to get back on track but adding in under 4.5 goals using the bet builder function will increase the odds up to 4/5.
Given that neither side can afford to lose this game, a cagey affair is predicted at the Allegiant Stadium.
Ecuador’s opening match at the Copa America didn’t go to plan, but they did have to play the majority of the game with 10 men, after captain Enner Valencia was sent off in the 19th minute.
However, even without Valencia on matchday two, Ecuador can edge out Jamaica to claim three crucial points from this clash.
Sanchez’s side are currently positioned fifth in the South American World Cup qualifying standings, losing just one of their opening six games.
On top of this, each of La Tri’s last 14 victories have produced under 4.5 goals, and another low-key success looks likely in Las Vegas.
The Reggae Boys tend to fall short when they take on side’s that are ranked higher than them, as was the case in their 1-0 defeat against Mexico.
Heimir Hallgrímsson’s side can certainly hold their own and keep this game tight, but another narrow defeat could be in store.
