SlipsTips shares a selection from Saturday's hotly-anticipated Scottish Cup final showdown between Old Firm rivals Celtic and Rangers at Hampden.
Celtic vs Rangers (Saturday, 15:00)
Celtic and Rangers will contest the Scottish Cup final for the first time in 22 years at Hampden Park on Saturday afternoon.
The Hoops, who are the current holders of the trophy, are hunting down a domestic double after successfully defending their Scottish Premiership crown.
Rangers, on the other hand, are also aiming to end the season with two pieces of silverware, having already lifted the Scottish League Cup back in December.
It’s no surprise that Celtic are odds-on 17/20 (Bet 365) favourites here. However, I’m happy to highlight a player-based selection that looks well worth supporting.
Celtic’s Callum McGregor has been chalked up at 10/11 on Betfair to commit two or more fouls during this derby and that price holds plenty of appeal.
As a key component in Celtic’s midfield engine room, it would be fair to say that McGregor does tend to thrive and relish any Old Firm occasion.
While the Celtic skipper has often been the man running the show when these two old foes face off, he is also a player who isn't afraid to get stuck in, and that has been evident during recent dust-ups between the Glasgow duo.
McGregor clocked up three fouls when the pair last crossed paths just two weeks ago, not to mention he was reprimanded by the referee a whopping six times in his previous Old Firm start back in December.
Even in games outside of the Old Firm battleground, McGregor helps out a lot defensively, with the 30-year-old committing two or more fouls in Celtic’s recent league games against Hearts, Kilmarnock and St Mirren.
With that in mind, coupled with what’s at stake at Hampden on Saturday, backing McGregor to tackle his way into trouble at least twice at 10/11 on Betfair is a price that definitely represents value.
