Before we talk racing I'd like to wish my good friend Rizz all the best in the future. It can be a lonely old game tipping horses as you open yourself up to scrutiny but Rizz was nothing short of brilliant and I'm sure my thoughts are echoed throughout the rest of the racing thread. Although I was only stand in cover over the past few years he was always there for me when I needed some advice and I will be forever thankful for that.
As Rizz has already mentioned It's not totally good-bye from him and I'm sure you'll see him pop up here and there with his selections and covering all things racing.
Furthermore, I'm delighted to be given the opportunity to take on the role and can't thank the guys at MFT enough for their support in me over the last few years. Similar to Rizz I started tipping horses online, I personally went down both the Facebook and telegram route for this and then found myself on MFT as cover for Rizz.
I'm both nervous and excited to get started on this new journey but I hope together we can continue to beat the bookies!
Now onto the racing!
There is some great racing on this Easter Monday in particular the Irish Grand National at fairyhouse. I've created a betting guide which covers some betting trends, past winners and information on the race as well as my 2 selections. You'll find that on the other thread via the main menu on MFT once it is posted.
I've 4 selections for tomorrow, one from the meeting at Kempton, one from Plumpton and my two plays in the Irish Grand National which can be found on the other thread.
Lion's Pride 5/2 – 2:55 Kempton
Although official figures would suggest my selection has it all to do in giving 3lb to current market leader Dubai Honour. I still feel Lion's Pride has every chance in this and is better than just a ‘listed' horse which is what he is looked at in some peoples eyes.
He is trained by J&T Gosden and has had a pretty steady career path to date with some decent performances in particular at Kempton. He is a strapping big horse with a lovely action in his run and he seems to relish the AW.
On paper Dubai Honour is the one to beat under Ryan Moore, but given he is recovering from a setback and surely has his sights set on bigger races than this , I think hes worth taking on at such a short price.
There's a piece of form that my selection brings into this race that really stood out for me and it was the beating he gave Charlie Appleby's Measured Time when the pair met last time out at this course. Measured Time was sent of a 4/9 favourite for that race, now normally when Charlie and William Buick combine the price of that runner more times than most tends to be short anyway, however Measured Time has since went on to land some nice prized races. He won a Group Two in Dubai before winning the Group One Jebel Hatta where he beat some nice types in that race in the shape of Ottoman Fleet and Spirit Dancer. He then ran with credit to finish 4th in the Dubai Turf.
I'd Like To Know 5/2 – 2:25 Plumpton
The Chris Gordon yard are in decent nick and he holds strong claims with his runner I'd Like To Know who looked rather impressive when opening his account over fences at Newbury last month.
He looks the sort who can improve further and is yet to hit his full potential over the obstacles. He has been hit with an 8lb rise for his recent outing but I don't feel it will be enough to stop another bold showing.
Kotmask could be the main danger and if I'm honest It was a toss up between the two of them before I finally went with my gut on I'd like to know.
Kotmask jumping was poor at Sandown last time out when falling a few weeks ago and I thought this race could maybe come to soon after having a fall. Scarface is another possible danger, he is a recent winner at this track but tends to jump out to the right which won't help and he is also up a further 3lb.

3:10 Chepstow walking in the woods 5/2 now was 11/4 a bit earlier and will probably get shorter I was on last time was gutted it never won put up a good fight in defeat hopefully in the same mood and will go one better today
