AS the site continues to be busier it seems that fans of all sports are looking for tips.
I couldn't believe the number of comments about the Super Bowl on Sunday and last weekend there were plenty of rugby-related conversations.
The Six Nations resumes this weekend with the big one – Scotland v England. Scotland were woeful in Dublin last week but will as usual raise their game for a battler with the Auld Enemy at Murrayfield.
From all accounts the Murrayfield pitch is a bit of a mess and expected to cut up badly so that's something to consider and may force the sides to kick more than ran.
Wales are back at the top of the Six Nations betting and 15-8 favourites with William Hill after beating Italy while France are 2-1 following their defeat of England.
Wales face a tough task this weekend in Dublin, where they are the 6-5 outsiders, with Ireland 8-11 favourites.
England are 1-6 to beat Scotland while France are 1-33 to see off Italy.
I'm no rugby expert but no Grand Slam winner at 4-7 looks a good shout.
Weekend Fixtures (Hills prices)
Ireland vs Wales: 8/11 Ireland, 6/5 Wales, 18/1 Draw
Scotland vs England: 9/2 Scotland, 1/6 England, 22/1 Draw
France v Italy: 1/33 France, 11/1 Italy, 33/1 Draw
Six Nations outright: 15/8 Wales, 2/1 France, 7/2 Ireland, 4/1 England, 150/1 Scotland, 250/1 Italy
William Hill Grand Slam: 4/7 No winner, 9/2 France, 9/2 Wales, 8/1 Ireland.
That doesn’t look bad for wales over in Ireland. Could go either way. Might have a little bit on that! Would go for a low scoring game with Scotland England.
france for g/slam at 9/2 with hills is value for me .they are a confidence team .play italy home and ireland home should win .scotland in edinburgh will win .so for me toughest game wales in cardiff in week three i think is winable . back france to win six nations at 15/8 with saver on g/slam at 9/2.
England minus 10 is a fantastic bet on the handicap, thought they were unlucky in Paris. Scotland were woeful
I mentioned on last weeks thread that I don’t see a grand slam this year, it’s too tight and whilst wales are rightful favs 6/1 on ireland to win could be looking good if weekends results go right
wee punt on the handicap draws didnt return anything last week. closet came to a return was the france v england game. did have italy as my banker though at plus 19.
going for the trixie on the handicap draws again though for small stakes.
scotland +10 draw 16/1
france +20 draw 16/1
wales +2 draw 16/1.
i had set the spread at the following scotland v england +13
france v italy +14
ireland v wales -2
so i am going to take england to win giving up 10
italy to win receiving 20
wales to win receiving 2
i though the scots would have put up a decent show against ireland and cant see then getting within 10 of england.
france got a late winner against england and the italians wont roll over so they are again my banker receiving 20
. i wasnt impressed with ireland , more unimpressed with scotland so wales look good and receiving 2 is a bonus..
good luck
My selections are :-
England. -10
Italy +10
Ireland 8/11 no handicap
Scotland have dropped there Captain by the way
Dont respond anyone
Right wales screwed my treble last week
This week s treble
Wales+7/8, eng-4/5, france -13/14 pays round 2/1
Singles
Yellow card in ire v wales game 8/11=£80 , barnes refing he just loves cards go through last few games hes refed its good bet.
2nd half to b highest scoring half in eng v scot. Scots keep it tight till half time but england should pull away 4/6 £60
France -10 2nd half hcap10/11 same as above really italy will run outta steam. 50 £.
Best of luck to all
IRELAND TO BEAT WALES AT 8/11 IS A CERTAINTY
I think so can’t see the point doing handicap at 10/11 when it’s 8/11 starting scratch , think Italy great bet +20 !!
my banke r and getting evens with hills. italy +20.
always underestimated by the layers. check the stats on previous seasons handicaps
Ireland v Wales is the big one .!!!
I agree with Mr F on his no grand slam winner at 4/7, good bet to add to another short priced acum, BUT also disagree with Scotland v England being the big one…Seriously !!!!
Scotland v England , Calcutta Cup etc etc but I really dont think that this game is going to make much difference to the 6 nations , Scotland will be brave at home nut the English have two much fire power for the Scots home or away (as shown in France last week).
However Ireland v Wales is without doubt the game of the weekend,.
Tough one to call,9 of the past 13 games have been won by the visiting team, there is a healthy of rivalry between these teams over the past few years and very rarely more than a score in the difference.
the whole Lions/BoD/Gatlan issue could play a small factor also but what the score it will be a cracking game with probably no more than a score again between the two.
Using MR Fs new found love of the the tasty safe double bet, Im banking on the following
Wales +8 4/11
England -4 4/11
double is around 5/6
France…too tough to call, lost last two against Italy but could blow them away this time, no bet
Chef N, cheers. Just about to put up a new thread.
