CRYSTAL PALACE will be looking to return to winning ways in the Premier League when they square off with West Ham United at Selhurst Park on Saturday lunchtime.
Roy Hodgson tasted defeat for the first time since returning to the club when the Eagles fell to a 2-0 defeat at Wolves on Tuesday night.
Despite that setback, Palace are still safely positioned in 12th place in the table – eight points clear of the bottom three with five games remaining.
Back on home soil this weekend, Hodgson and Co will be looking to halt their two-game winless run when they welcome London rivals West Ham.
The Hammers mini-revival ground to halt in a 2-1 defeat at home to Liverpool in midweek, on a night where my London Stadium Bet Builder landed.
That setback means David Moyes' men are five points clear of the bottom-three but they will be keen to give themselves more breathing space when they make the short trip to south London on Saturday.
Outright Betting
The bookies are struggling to separate the sides with Crystal Palace narrow 13/8 (Bet 365) favourites while the draw has been chalked up at 11/5 (Bet 365).
West Ham United have triumphed in each of their last two visits to Selhurst Park and the same outcome here can be backed at 17/10 (Bet 365).
Betting Angles
I successfully backed Both Teams to Score in Roy Hodgson's first match back in the Crystal Palace hotseat against Leicester and I'm happy to side with the same selection here at 19/20 (Bet 365).
While you wouldn't necessarily associate Crystal Palace with scoring goals, they have upped their attacking output since rehiring Roy Hodgson and they should have the tools to create opportunities against a West Ham defence that is not exactly renowned for being watertight.
Although recent performances would suggest that the Hammers finally appear to be getting their act together, they have only managed to file three clean sheets away from home in the league this season so far.
However, at the other end of the park, David Moyes' men have looked a lot more dangerous from an attacking perspective of late, having racked up 11 strikes across their last four games in all competitions.
As such, I fancy West Ham to score at least once against a Crystal Palace side that have conceded at least one goal in 13 of their last 17 Premier league matches.
With that in mind, coupled with the fact that this bet would have banked in November's ‘s reverse fixture, siding with the same selection on Saturday looks worthy of interest at 19/20 (Bet 365).
Elsewhere, I'll also have a small play on West Ham's Vladimír Coufal to pick up a card at 4/1 with William Hill.
The Hammers right-back is not exactly renowned for being card magnet but he should have his hands full here given the pace and flair that Palace possess in wide areas.
