Bayern Munich are still seeking their first Bundesliga win since the restart as they travel to Wolfsburg on Sunday.
Wolfsburg came blazing into the restart, claiming a 6-0 victory over Freiburg before running out 5-0 winners at Hertha Berlin. Those two results have reignited their European challenge as they now sit seventh on the table, just three points off the top six.
However, Wolfsburg’s erratic form from earlier in the season appears to have returned as they have lost their last two matches. First, they were beaten 2-1 at Werder Bremen in their previous Bundesliga fixture before being dumped out of the DFB Pokal in midweek after another 2-1 defeat to Union Berlin.
Wolfsburg will be keen to return to get things back on track and the good news is they are returning to the Volkswagen Arena which has seen only one Bundesliga defeat all season. Nico Kovac’s men have won their last three home matches, scoring a total of 12 goals in that run.
It has not been a typically dominant campaign for Bayern Munich as they hold just a one point lead at the top of the standings with the second half of the season fully underway.
