Thursday’s Football Bet of the Day sees me head to La Liga, and I like the possibility of goals in the Madrid neighbourhood of Vallecas.

⚽️ Rayo Vallecano vs Celta de Vigo

🇪🇸 La Liga

⏰ Thursday 10th November, 18:00

High-flying Rayo Vallecano welcome struggling Celta Vigo to Vallecas on Thursday in a match that I feel has the potential for goals.

Rayo Vallecano come into this fixture off the back of a memorable 3-2 victory over reigning La Liga and European champions Real Madrid on Monday evening. Following that incredible result, Andoni Iraola’s men are now unbeaten in each of their previous five La Liga outings, winning each of their last three. Los Franjirrojos have found the back of the net in nine of their previous 10 league fixtures, scoring 18 goals in that run. Rayo have recorded four clean sheets in the league this season, however, just two of those have come in their last 11.

Ex-Swansea City and Braga manager Carlos Carvalhal began his reign as Celta Vigo manager with a 1-2 loss at home to in-form Osasuna. After collecting seven points from their opening four league matches, Celta have gone on to collect just four more across their next nine fixtures – with just one of those coming in their previous six. Only rock-bottom Elche (31) have conceded more goals than Celta (26), with 15 of those coming across their last five matches on their travels. However, Os Celestes have found the back of the net in 11/13 of their La Liga tussles this season, scoring on 14 occasions.

Bet of the Day

Confidence will be at an all-time high for Rayo Vallecano following their 3-2 success over Real Madrid on Monday evening, but they face a Celta side who will be looking to impress their new coach Carlos Carvalhal. Goals have been a feature in the majority of both sides' matches this season, and I reckon we should see a few more at Vallecas on Thursday evening.

Collectively, over 1.5 goals has landed in 20/26 of the pair’s La Liga fixtures this season, with over 2.5 goals landing in 16 of them. Given the stats and both teams' records at either end of the pitch, I am happy to back the 2.25 Asian Goal Line. This would mean if there were exactly two goals, we would lose only half of our stake, whilst three or more would ensure we receive a full payout.
