Football Bet of the Day: Rangers vs Dundee Bet Builder

Wednesday’s Football Bet of the Day sees me focus on the League Cup quarter-final at Ibrox, and I’ve come up with a solid-looking bet builder.

Rangers will look to book their place in the Scottish League Cup this evening as they host Championship side Dundee at Ibrox.

Rangers recorded their fourth consecutive Premiership victory at the weekend, as they won 1-2 away at Motherwell in a match that brought up Sunday’s Football Bet of the Day. Domestically, Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s side have been perfect at Ibrox this season, with The Teddy Bears winning all five of their league matches in front of their own supporters – as well as seeing off third-tier Queen of the South in the previous round of this competition. The Gers have scored 19 goals across those six victories, netting on multiple occasions in all six. Rangers have seen their opponents receive multiple cards in all 11 of their league and cup fixtures this season.

Dundee claimed a 2-1 win over third-placed Ayr United to climb them up into fourth position in the Championship table in a match that brought up Saturday’s Football Bet of the Day. Gary Bowyer’s men have been plagued with inconsistency so far this term, particularly away from home, where they’ve won just two of their six road trips. The Dark Blues surprisingly have the fourth-worst defensive record in the Scottish second-tier, letting in 16 goals across their opening 11 league fixtures. Dundee have been shown multiple cards in 6/11 of their league outings this season -including in 4/6 when on their travels.

Bet of the Day 

Rangers couldn’t really ask for a better opportunity to seal their place in the semi-finals of the Scottish League Cup – and despite plenty of rotation expected – they should have too much quality for a side in the division below. Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s men have been faultless domestically at Ibrox this season, winning each of their six league and cup fixtures in Govan – scoring on multiple occasions in each of them – and they should make the net bulge at least twice against a Dundee defence that’s hardly been convincing this season.

To boost the price, I’m happy to add Gary Bowyer’s visitors to pick up at least two cards. The Gers have seen all 11 of their domestic opponents pick up multiple cards this season, and with the hosts expected to have the majority of the ball coupled up with Willie Collum also in charge of things, we should see The Dee be shown more than one card.
