TIGER WOODS returns to one of his favourite venues when he lines up against the likes of Lee Westwood and Martin Kaymer in Dubai.

The two Europeans have climbed above Woods during the American's slump and it should be an interesting battle.

Woods is 13-2 with William Hill and Coral to win in Dubai but is second favourite behind German Kaymer who looks a much better prospect at 5-1 with firms such as William Hill and Ladbrokes.

Tiger is 2-5 with Ladbrokes to finish in the top 10 and despite his recent results should be capable of that on a course where he's finished in the top five on his last five visits.

Westwood is 12-1 with Ladbrokes to win but 7-2 to miss the cut after doing so last week in Qatar.

Last week was all about Thomas Bjorn, tipped by the Racing Post's Steve Palmer to win at 200-1.

He was of course well backed and cost bookies a fortune but because of that the Dane is a biggest 50-1 with Coral this week.

Palmer's top pick is Ross Fisher, who won't be 40-1 when he tees off, while I always believe it's worth small stakes on a couple of players at big prices each-way.

Half the field are capable of winning and that makes golf betting so difficult. My small stakes are going on England's Oliver Wilson at 100-1 with Ladbrokes and India's Jeev Mikka Singh at 150-1 with William Hill.

Wilson's steadily improved this season and finished top 20 on his last two Dubai Desert Classics. Singh hasn't sparked yet this year but top-20 finishes in his three previous Desert trips suggest he's got the game needed to conquer the Emirates Golf Club.
