CELTIC have smashed in 14 goals without reply on their last two road trips but Ross County should put up stiffer resistance when the Hoops head to Dingwall in the Premier Sports Cup.
Two of my bets came up on Sunday as Ange Postecoglou's side romped to a 9-0 victory against a demoralised Dundee United to make it five wins from five in the Premiership.
They also scored five at Rugby Park a couple of weeks ago and look in great shape heading into the first Old Firm derby of the season at Parkhead this weekend.
First they must turn their attention to the defence of the Premier Sports Cup and the draw for the last 16 has handed them a second trip to Dingwall this season.
Celtic won 3-1 there on matchday two in the SPFL Premiership but needed two late goals to seal the deal and it would be a surprise if they ran riot at a venue that has been tricky in recent seasons.
Ross County have lost four of their first five games in the league but they've faced a tough fixture schedule, going up against both Glasgow giants as well as Hearts.
Rangers crushed them 4-0 at Ibrox last weekend but that game would have turned out differently had James Sands seen red for a last-man foul with the score locked at 0-0 instead of escaping punishment.
Malky Mackay is still bedding in his new signings but the Staggies also started last season badly before finding their feet and storming to a top-six finish against the odds.
How the bookies view it
Ross County have been written off and they're 9/1 at SBK to qualify, with that price rising to 16/1 with Ladbrokes for a win in 90 minutes. Celtic's best price to go through is just 1/12 at Betway while a win without extra-time or penalties is 2/11 with Bet365. The full-time draw pays 6/1 at Betfair.
Head to head
Ross County beat Celtic twice in Neil Lennon's ill-fated final season as Hoops boss, with a 2-0 League Cup triumph at Parkhead followed by a 1-0 league win in Dingwall.
But Celtic have won 13 of the last 15 meetings, with that 3-1 victory earlier this season making it three successive victories in Dingwall for Postecoglou.
Players to watch
Postecoglou might be tempted to make a few changes for this one with an eye on Saturday's massive derby at Parkhead. Daizen Maeda came off the bench at Tannadice and could start here, with the Japanese forward a tempting 17/10 at Paddy Power for anytime scorer.
Owura Edwards has looked the most dangerous of County's new signings and scored the winner against Kilmarnock in his side's only league victory. The speedy forward is 17/2 with Bet365 for a goal here which looks a bit overpriced.
Anything else catch the eye?
Ross County are generally good value in the BTTS market and that bet came up when Celtic last faced them in Dingwall. With Postecoglou possibly making changes it stands a chance tonight and that bet pays 5/4 at Ladbrokes.
Celtic flew out of the traps at Tannadice and will look to get their noses in front early again here. Over 1.5 first-half goals pays 13/10 with Coral and that looks another decent option.
