Sunday’s Football Bet of the Day see’s me delve into the Portuguese top-tier and there’s a match that I like the look of for goals at both ends.

Porto vs Gil Vicente

 🇵🇹 Primeira Liga

⏰ Sunday 27th February, 20:30

Porto will look to extend their lead at the top of the Primeira Liga, as they host in-form Gil Vicente at the Estádio do Dragão. The hosts are now five points clear at the top following Sporting’s draw on Saturday, whilst the visitors are 5th, just four points behind 4th placed Braga.

Following their 2-2 draw with champions Sporting CP, Porto got back to winnings ways in the league, as they won 0-1 away to relegation-threatened Moreirense. Porto have dropped just six points this season and have won 17 of their last 18 in the league. Sergio Conceição’s side have found the back of the net in every game so far in the Primeira Liga this season, finding the back of the net on 58 occasions. Porto have kept nine clean sheets this season, with seven of those coming against bottom-half sides. The Dragons have conceded in six of their last eight in the league, as well as in seven of their last eight at the Dragão.

Gil Vicente continued their great run of form, as they defeated bottom side Belenenses 2-0 in Barcelos last time out. The Roosters have now lost just one of their last 14 in the league, winning eight of their last 11. Gil Vicente are also unbeaten in their last nine matches away from home, with them winning four of their last five on their travels, including a 1-2 win in Lisbon against Benfica. Ricardo Soares’s side have scored in 19/23 of their league matches this season, finding the back of the net on 35 occasions. Gil Vicente have kept eight clean sheets in the league this season, with none of those coming against the current top-eight sides in the league.

Bet of the Day

Porto know they can extend their lead at the top of the Primeira Liga to eight points with a win, but face a tough test against an in-form Gil Vicente side. Ricardo Soares’s visitors come into this full of confidence, having lost just one of their last 14, as well as winning eight of their last 11. Gil Vicente have found the back of the in 19/23 of their league matches this season and I’m backing them to get on the scoresheet against a Porto side that’s conceded in six of their last eight Primeira Liga matches, as well as in seven of their last eight at the Dragão. Gil Vicente have conceded in all eight of their matches against the current top-eight and given Sergio Conceição’s side have scored in all 23 of their league matches, I’m happy to back both teams to score at an attractive price, a selection that also came up in the reverse fixture.
