Friday’s Football Bet of the Day see’s me focus on the World Cup Qualifiers. I’ve picked a couple of selections from Europe in which I like the look of to give us a nice odds against double.
🇲🇩 Moldova vs Scotland 🏴
🇪🇺 World Cup Qualifier
⏰ Friday 12th November, 17:00
Scotland travel to Chisinău to take on Moldova at the Zimbru Stadium knowing a win will see them confirm 2nd place and secure a playoff spot. Scotland currently sit in 2nd position on 17 points, while Moldova sit bottom, 16 points behind their opponents.
Moldova kicked off their World Cup campaign with a 1-1 draw with fellow minnows the Faroe Islands, but have since gone on to lose each of their next seven matches. Moldova have conceded 24 goals so far in Group F, however half of those have came in their two defeats against runaway group winners Denmark. Moldova have struggled to score goals in qualifying, scoring on just four occasions, with all four coming against the Faroe Islands and a defensively suspect Israel. Each of their last five defeats in Group F have seen fewer than five goals, including the reverse at Hampden.
After winning just one of their first four matches in qualifying, Scotland have went on to win each of their last four games to put them within touching distance of a playoff spot. A key factor in Scotland’s success so far in Group F is their defensive record, with them conceding only seven goals and keeping four clean sheets in their last six group games. Scotland aren’t prolific scorers themselves, scoring just 13 times in their eight matches. Four of Scotland’s five wins in Group F have produced fewer than five goals, with three of them finishing 1-0 including the reverse fixture with Moldova at Hampden.
🇦🇩 Andorra vs Poland 🇵🇱
🇪🇺 World Cup Qualifier
⏰ Friday 12th November, 19:45
Poland travel to Andorra knowing they must leave the Estadi Nacional with all three points to keep their chances of automatic qualification alive. The Poles currently sit in 2nd spot, three points behind England but also only two points above Albania. Andorra on the other hand are already eliminated and sit in 5th position.
Andorra secured their second win of the campaign last time out as they defeated lowly San Marino 0-3 last time out to more or less ensure they’ll not finish bottom of Group 1. Andorra have lost all six of their matches against the other four sides in the group, conceding on 19 occasions. Andorra have conceded 3+ goals in four of those matches, including in the reverse fixture in Warsaw.
Poland secured a vital 0-1 win in Tirana last time out as they leapfrogged Albania into 2nd place. Poland have won four of their last five matches in Group I, only dropping points to group leaders England in that run. The Poles are the top scorers in the group, scoring 24 goals so far in qualifying. Poland have scored a minimum of three goals in 5/8 group games, with one of those games being a 3-0 win in the reverse fixture.
Bet of the Day
Scotland are known for never doing things the easy way, however I can’t see them slipping up away to a side ranked 175th in the FIFA rankings. Moldova have lost each of their last seven matches in the group and with Scotland keeping four clean sheets in their last six qualifiers, I don’t see Moldova giving Scotland’s defence too many problems. Scotland aren’t the most prolific side in front of goal, therefore I’m happy to add in under 4.5 goals along with the Scotland win. Poland know a win in Andorra will guarantee a playoff spot should England avoid defeat at home to Albania and I can’t see anything other than a comfortable Poland win. Poland have already scored 24 goals in qualifying so far and I see them scoring at least three against minnows Andorra who have already conceded 19 times in qualifying.
- Scotland to win & under 4.5 goals
- Poland to Score 3+
- Double Pays 6/5 (William Hill)
