NETHERLANDS have a penalty kick in their attempts to consolidate their lead at the top of their group when minnows Gibraltar visit Rotterdam.
The Dutch have what looks like a golden opportunity to almost seal their place at Qatar 2022 with a double-header against Latvia away and Gibraltar at home.
However, they were miles off it in Riga and only sneaked home with a 1-0 win where they allowed the Baltic nation a couple of golden opportunities to score.
It was far from a comfortable night for Louis van Gaal's charges, but they got the job done and they are unlikely to receive much resistance from Gibraltar on Monday night.
The tiny Iberian nation failed to manage even a shot on target as Montenegro completed a bloodless 3-0 over them on Friday night and this has been a chastising qualifying campaign for a nation who have proved problematic to a few countries in the past.
A total of 28 goals conceded in seven losing qualifiers tells its own story, with only three scored. They were also crushed 7-0 in the corresponding fixture with the Dutch so this could be a long night for Julio César Ribas's men.
How the bookies view it
Unsurprisingly, the Dutch are overwhelming favourites at 1/100 with SBK, with accas inclusion the only way you could back them to win. Gibraltar are available at 99/1 with the same firm and they have the draw at 29/1
Recent head to heads
As stated, the Dutch ran amok in the corresponding fixture with that 7-0 win with Memphis Dephay scoring a double. That's been their only meeting.
Here's that one-sided romp below.
Players to watch
Cody Gakpo had been in fine form for PSV Eindhoven this season with six goals and this should be like shooting fish in a barrel for him. He passed up a couple of decent chances in Riga and will be despre to atone for that. He's 4/9 with bet365 to score anytime in a market where most Dutch players are heavy odds-on.
Reece Styche was the last player to net for Gibraltar and the striker who plays for Storbridge in the Southern League Premier Division Central will have his work cut out against Virgil van Dijk and co. He's 11/1 to score in De Kuip with bet365.
Anything else catch the eye?
It's obviously just a quetion of how much the Dutch will win by and how much they fancy turning in on against a clearly very limited Gibraltar side.
The visitors are likely to try and frustrate the Dutch, but having received some criticism for their struggles to break down the Latvians, they should be going all out to run amok here.
It's a case of how much and they should be able to run up the proverbial cricket score, with handicap betting the obvious way to go here.
They are 4/5 with bet365 to be leading by three or more goals at half time and if they make a fast start, they should cover that.
And the Dutch minus six goals on the handicap at 13/10 with Betfred has to be considered too.
