After bagging back-to-back winners in Scotland over the weekend, SlipsTips is back with a Bet Builder ahead of Wednesday nights Fife derby between Raith Rovers and Dunfermline.
Raith Rovers vs Dunfermline (Wednesday, 19:05)
Raith Rovers and Dunfermline will reconvene at Starks Park on Wednesday night after last month's Fife derby lasted just 12 minutes following a power failure.
These two familiar foes head into this rearranged clash in contrasting form, with Rovers winning three of their last four league games, while Dunfermline remain winless and find themselves propping up the Scottish Championship table.
A pair of goalless draws on home turf has eased the pressure on under-fire Dunfermline boss Peter Grant but the short trip to Kirkcaldy will prove a stern test for the underperforming Pars.
The bookies odds for this bout suggest things could get worse before they get better for Dunfermline but I'm going to swerve the match result market and instead combine over zero match goals and over 3.5 match cards, a nice looking 9/10 (McBookie) play.
There were plenty of thrills in this fixture last season, with each of the three derbies during the regular campaign featuring a minimum of four match strikes, not to mention two of those contests crashed through the over 4.5 goal barrier.
Sure, Dunfermline have steadied the ship with consecutive clean sheets, but there has been no shortage of goals in matches involving John McGlynn's men this season, with all six Rovers' league games generating at least one match strike.
In fact, Raith have already played out a couple of chaotic 4-4 and 3-2 thrillers at their Kirkcaldy base this term so I'm more than happy to side with at least one match goal on Wednesday night, but in order to boost the odds, I'll throw over 3.5 cards into the equation.
Both teams are situated in the top-three of the early-season disciplinary standings (av 2+ cards per-game) and that coupled with a bumper Starks Park crowd should contribute to a feisty fixture in front of the TV cameras.
Referee Euan Anderson has been selected to take charge of this all-Fife showdown and it's worth noting that the Scottish whistler has flashed four or more cards in five of his seven outings this season so far.
What's more, the aforementioned combination clicked during all three meetings at this venue last season so I'll happily support the same formula on Wednesday night given that a fervent Fife crowd will be roaring both rivals on.
