TWO clubs who have shown some notable signs of improvement in recent weeks meet at Goodison Park on Wednesday night as Everton entertain Manchester United in the Carabao Cup.
The Toffees have come through a sticky patch to chalk up eye-catching wins over Chelsea, Leicester and Arsenal.
That trio of triumphs has propelled Carlo Ancelotti's charges to fourth in the Premier League table and the Merseysiders will be looking to keep the feelgood factor flowing by booking a League Cup semi-final berth this midweek.
Standing in the Blues' way of place in the last-four is a Manchester United side who have avoided defeat in each of their last seven domestic fixtures.
Last time out Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side savaged Leeds 6-2 at Old Trafford, but the beleaguered Norwegian is still searching for a first major trophy as Man United manager.
However, the Carabao Cup represents one of the Red Devils' best opportunities to win silverware this season and United will be looking to replicate their 3-1 victory at this venue last month.
Outright Betting
A fourth win on the spin for Everton is an unfancied 9/4 with William Hill, while the draw in normal time is also deemed unlikely at 11/4 with UniBet.
Manchester United have won each of their eight domestic away matches this term and another Red Devils road success is trading at 11/10 with Bet 365.
Betting Angles
This looks like a tricky fixture to tackle from a betting perspective given the good form of both sides coupled with the likelihood of both respective managers ringing changes.
Therefore, I'm once again going to head to the Bet 365‘s Bet Builder market to put together a same game multiple and combine both teams to score alongside over two Everton corners, a 10/11 shot with Bet 365.
Goals have been a regular feature in games at Goodison park this season – seven of the nine fixtures to date have produced three or more match goals.
What's more, the Blues have made the bulge at least twice in four of their seven league games on home turf this term and nine of the last 13 top-flight encounters at this venue have ended with both sides getting on the scoreboard.
Man United, meanwhile, have notched at least twice in each of their last 10 Premier League road trips and when digging slightly deeper it can be seen that the Red Devils have racked up three or more strikes in their last six league games away from Old Trafford.
With that in mind, I'm happy to back both teams to score but I'll add-in over two Everton corners to boost up the price – the Blues have hit three or more flag kicks in each of their last nine league games.
That train of thought is going to lead me to another 10/11 (Bet 365) Bet Builder by combining over one match goal and each team to collect over zero cards.
The above-mentioned combination clicked during the recent dust-up between these two sides and I like the look of a repeat on Wednesday night in what should be a closely-fought cup tie.
