IT'S another busy day of racing and Milesey's here with all the top tips.

FFOS LAS 4.0

Pause And Clause is winless since Cheltenham Festival success three years ago and while he’s not been disgraced on either start this winter, isn’t one to trust implicitly these days. Usual headgear left off now.

Lundy Sky is a lightly-raced sort, ran creditably on return from absence at Exeter in November, but reportedly broke a blood vessel when pulled up next time and again shaped as if amiss at Newbury last month.

Gormanstown Cuckoo was an impressive winner of 3m Aintree handicap in October 2011 for Colm Murphy and better than result on last couple of starts. Best form when tongue tied, though, and that aid is missing once more.

Open Day took advantage of a lenient mark at Leicester in November and better form when beating all bar Dark Lover at Cheltenham next time. Below form last time but a step up to 2½m is certain to suit now.

Radmores Revenge looked set to play a part in the finish when falling three out on reappearance at Chepstow and back to form when third of nine at Uttoxeter last month. Best form on heavy and drying ground is a concern.

Coup Royale was much improved in first-time tongue tie to win 2½m Kempton handicap chase in February 2011. Jumping failed test in light campaign last season,and well-being to prove on belated return to timber.

The Jugopolist finished runner-up twice in bumpers prior to making a winning start over hurdles at Uttoxeter (2½m) in October. Well held on both handicap starts, though, and looked amiss in cheekpieces last time.

Lava Lamp improved to land pair of C&D handicaps last March and bounced back from a break to win at Fontwell last time. Still thrown in on old form despite a penalty and likely to prove hard to stop.

Dashing Doc improved to take ladies race at Newton Abbot on handicap bow in June 2011. Not seen since fair fourth next time, and while handicapper has given him a chance, must show that his old ability remains.

Stormyisland Ahead is a winning hurdler, similar form over fences without scoring, weak finishing and tendency to make makes mistakes his undoing. Back over hurdles after 14 months off and others preferred.

Pour Changer showed fair form over hurdles/fences for Francois Doumen in 2009 but failed to trouble the judge in three starts for current yard last year. Temperament under suspicion and fitness to prove on return.

Verdict: Lava Lamp, a dual C&D winner in this month last year, bounced back at Fontwell last time and remains well treated despite a penalty for that win. Open Day will improve for a step up to this trip and is by far the biggest danger, with Radmores Revenge holding place claims despite concerns over drying ground.

A 6f winner on his debut, only went down by half a length on handicap debut and off the same mark today, the drop back in trip to 6f will give this horse every chance of the win today, David Simock’s yard is in good form, Jim Crowley on board.

CONQUISTO 1.8
Drop back today to 2m will give this horse every chance to bounce back from the two previous second-placed efforts, one being a demolition job by overturn and had no chance that day. Easily top-rated in this field, positive is the drop back to 2m, and this front-ridden horse will be ridden positive today by Tom Scudamore and could just take this field apart.

Is in good form, and going for the treble, switched back to hurdles after two nice wins in Jumpers Bumpers. Only finds itself raised 4lb higher then its mark last time out and is reasonable in the weights.

The better ground should suit this horse and is in reasonable form at the moment to suggest it will take all the beating.

Well … champion jockey AP on board this one gives me every confidence it win the last race of the day, tongue tie on for its debut for trainer Rebecca Curtis. Runner-up in a point to point last year, expected to go well, actually expected to win this one and quite easily.
