ENGLAND will be looking to make it back-to-back Nations League wins when they meet Denmark at the Parken Stadium on Tuesday night.
Ten-man England left it late on Saturday evening when labouring to a hard-fought 1-0 win over Iceland, with Raheem Sterling's last-gasp penalty rescuing the Three Lions in Reykjavik.
It was a tale of two late penalties as England's blushes were only spared by Iceland's failure to convert a 94th minute spot kick as Birkir Bjarnason blazed over the bar.
Gareth Southgate (below) admitted his side got out of jail in Iceland and the England boss will be looking for a much-improved performance from his young Lions in the Danish capital on Tuesday night.
Denmark, meanwhile, saw their Nations League campaign get off to a losing start when falling to a 2-0 defeat at home to Belgium on Saturday night.
Consequently, Kasper Hjulmand lost his opening assignment as Denmark manager and Saturday's setback also represented the Danes first home defeat in almost four years.
Outright Betting
Denmark are big underdogs at 10/3 with Bet 365, while the draw is also deemed unlikely at odds of 13/5 with the same bookmaker.
England have won six of their last seven competitive matches and another success for Southgate and Co on Tuesday night is trading at 21/10 with Betfred.
Betting Angles
Goals have been in fairly short supply since the Nations League resumed and I suspect another low-scoring affair could be in store in Copenhagen on Tuesday night.
Denmark have kept a clean sheet in three of their last four fixtures and four of their last six matches have produced less than three strikes, so a repeat this midweek will tempt plenty of punters at Even-Money with Bet 365.
Indeed, the above-mentioned price takes appeal, however, I'm going to opt for an alternative angle by combining Denmark to score, Denmark +2 handicap and under 4.5 match goals which will give us a 5/6 shot when making use of William Hill's Build Your Odds feature.
Taking the aforementioned betting angle would have banked profit in nine of Denmark's last 12 international tussles on home turf and I'm happy to side with a repeat when Southgate's young side pitch up at the Parken on Tuesday night.
The Danes have made the net bulge in eight of their last 10 outings and I suspect they could strike when they come up against an England side who will be without a number of key players, including Mason Greenwood and Phil Foden who have been pulled from the squad following an alleged quarantine breach.
Indeed, England have superior attacking talent within their ranks, however, the likes of Christian Eriksen, Kasper Dolberg and Yussuf Poulsen could have the tools to trouble what could be another experimental England starting XI.
I'm also going to delve into the card markets with the view to backing tough-tackling Danish midfielder Thomas Delaney to be carded at 9/4 with Bet 365.
Delaney's combative and abrasive style of play often sees him involved in fiercely competitive midfield battles and after picking up two cards in three Nations League appearances last season, value could lie with backing the Borussia Dortmund man to be booked when he comes up against a youthful England team with an abundance of pace and flair in attacking areas.
