JIMMI CHEW (4.05) is worth sticking with at Huntingdon in his attempt to rack up a fairly quick hat-trick.
Alex Hales has the gelding at the peak of his powers and Jimmi Chew ran out a game winner from For Jim over course and distance 19 days ago. There was a yawning 18 lengths gap back to the third and a 6lb rise may not prevent the treble under similar ground conditions.
On that same Huntingdon card MICKEY BUCKMAN (1.10) outran his derisory 100-1 odds by chasing home Glory And Fortune, staying on well. Gary Moore has wasted little time stepping him up in trip.
ROBYNDZONE (3.30) should be all the better for his comeback run at Southwell and Fergal O'Brien has found him a fairly weak handicap. Constante Via had placed form for Nigel Twiston-Davies last year and has her first run for Jonjo O'Neill. She poses an obvious threat, especially if a wind operation has had the desired effect.
TIM ROCCO (1.55) makes plenty of each-way appeal at Carlisle. He won twice in five days in March, latterly beating Beyondtemptation and Deepsand at Newcastle. Deepsand is better off at the weights but Tim Rocco should have benefited from a Worcester outing 37 days ago.
12-45 carl Equus Dancer 11-2.
Sunday
Count meribel 2-30 Carlisle 6-4 top 2 finish NAP.
Also couple of quid on the win at 8-1.
Best form comes this time of year, 1st time out record very good, 3 from 3 wins at track, won on this card last year and in 2017, beat kildisart here over hurdles in 2017 giving that one 6 pounds, today he gets 4 pounds, trainer twiston Davies in good form
Lostintranslation and kildisart may have bigger targets in mind than this.

14:40 PLUMPTON – MR PUMBLECHOOK 10/1 0.5pts ew, 3 places
Alan King has been popping up and has a few out tomorrow. MR PUMBLECHOOK is a rank outsider but at 10/1 may be worth some interest. I’m not a defeatist or anything but his other entries will probably win as has happened to me a couple of times recently.
He has a C&D win to his name last winter off 133, he won by 10 lengths, the horse behind has had two 2nds and a win since with the form looking decent.
There’s been rain at the track and it looks set to continue which won’t hinder his chances whatsoever, he was tried in Listed company so there fact he is 13lbs lower than his win looks appealing despite what the odds compilers seem to think.
The 7lb claim doesn’t ride often but but from his last 9 rides, he has three wins and two 2nds, none for Alan King but that isn’t overly concerning.
We are returning from a 200 day break but only two rivals are fresh, he was 3rd on his winter debut last year. It seems like I say this about everyone but AJ Honeyball and Aiden Coleman are also ones for the notepad this season, they run ACEY MILAN, the trainer can definitely get one ready and has been there or there abouts recently.
DAN MCGRUE was out 2 weeks back on soft, in this class, at this track over this distance, he was a neck 2nd and has been raised 1lb. He’ll also enjoy the rain. Immediately before DAN MCGRUE runs, MAB DAB is out, he carrier 22lbs less than DM and was 11 lengths behind, if he puts in any kind of performance I suppose that’s a good sign for McGrue.
It’s interesting the neck third that day was trained by Miss S J Smith who runs DEBESTYMAN.
He’s exclusively been tried at this track, he won lto over C&D back in Jan and hasn’t been seen since, he’s beaten a C1 winner and the small form on offer looks ok. The problem is his trainer hasn’t had a winner since April (doesn’t run many), I looked at her last 5 winners and none of those have won from a big break. TJ O’Brien is a solid replacement but Sheehan is usally on but is at Hereford for in form Jamie Snowden. I would advise watching the market and betting late, he’s currently around 8/1. Also remember bet365 will give you shorter odds for more places, a very handy feature.
17:45 Newcastle – PROPER BEAU 10/1 0.25pt win 0:75 to be placed (price added later)
Potentially one to monitor as up against some big names and the trainer seems to have gone off the boil recently.
He sent two winners here last month but wouldn’t envisage him even having a fiver on the horse but I am happy to chance despite what looks like quite a lofty mark.
Andrew Brittain is fire at Newcastle, he sends two, both of whom have his main man on board. He seemingly does better in the burgundy gold checks but neither are of interest for me tonight.
Ben Curtis has been bagging too many winners recently and he has a few rides worth looking at.
16:10 PUMPTON – O’Rahilly 4/1 win 0.25pt
This horse has only had 4 starts, all were at the track and he didn’t perform too badly on his hcap debut last time, he has been eased 1lb but is stepped up 4 furlongs which I don’t see as a massive positive since he is related to 1000 Guineas and St. Leger winners which are over significantly shorter. Avoiding a massive drift a small bet is fine, dip into the place market for more security.
