WE had a cracking start to the season landing the unders on the GB v Bears 7 days ago and 3 of 4 at the weekend so I'm hoping to continue that moving in to week 2!

Buccs (+7) v Panthers – Total: 49

The first proper Thursday Night football is here, and after both losing at the weekend, admittedly in very different circumstances, these NFC South rivals will be looking to get back to level pegging with a win tonight.

Typically you'd be looking to fade the road team on Thursday nights, it's a short week for them having played on the Sunday and having to travel no matter the distance without sufficient rest usually tips them towards the home side; However, it's not as prevalent early in the season where teams are a fair bit fresher than a few weeks in.

The Panthers lost a close one to the Superbowl runner-ups last week after making a comeback to get themselves within 3 points with 2 mins left but Todd Gurley ran out the game for the Rams and gave the Panthers the L.

It was a good performance though, especially from Christian McCaffrey who ended with about 60% of the total offensive output for the team while playing 100% of the snaps they had. You've got to expect them to have a similar plan this week as he is one of the best RBs in the league and is great fun to watch.

The Buccs did defend the run game well against the 49ers but this is a whole different thing.

The passing game was all short last week, the longest reception being 17 yards. Whether that's because Cam can't throw the ball far after another shoulder surgery over the summer or whether it was just the game plan at the weekend remains to be seen but it didn't look great from Cam, and his foot injury doesn't help that either.

The Buccs were involved in the messiest game of the weekend, filled with overturned TDs, turnovers and dropped passes. It was not a pretty watch.

It was hoped that Bruce Arians would sort out Jameis Winstons' love of throwing to the opposition but that didn't seem to be the case in week 1 with three interceptions; in fairness it wasn't entirely his fault though as OJ Howard didn't have a great game, being the cause of 1 interception and Mike Evans was playing through a virus so did not look great himself.

Peyton Barber is officially the RB1 in the team and that was re-affirmed by Arians today but he had his usual game, averaging about 4 yards per carry, whereas his ‘backup' Ronald Jones II looked great in his first start of his second season, he finished with 75 yards on the ground and 18 from 1 reception in the passing game.

Logic says he'll quickly take the reins tonight, but logic doesn't always work in the NFL; An interesting one for me is Dare Ogunbowale who took most of the 3rd down work last week and finished with 4 receptions for 33 yards. He's 12/1 to score anytime at 365 and his line is at o15.5 rec. yards on 365 and with them likely trailing tonight I fancy him to go over that line.

Both defenses are pretty good against the run and divisional games are generally lower scoring, especially on short weeks.

So… two for the night. Seeing as I've started the season well, lets go for something at big odds…
