SATURDAY looks like an all-South American affair for me with the main bets hailing from Asuncion and a back-up goals long shot featuring games in Bolivia, Chile, Venezuela and, of course, Paraguay!

OLIMPIA VS RIVER PLATE (11.00pm)

All about the hosts at home here – aside from a couple of Copa Libertadores defeats, they are unbeaten at home in 25 consecutive domestic home matches with some hefty victories thrown in for good measure!

H2H-wise, Olimpia have hit 2-0-5-2-3-3 team goals across the most recent 6 meetings and will go into this one in fine early form having already put 3 and 4 past Nacional and Diaz respectively … both of those games being on the road!

With the opportunity to leapfrog their biggest title rivals Cerro Porteno at this early stage, I can't see Olimpia not stepping up to ‘The Plate' and notching a solid victory.

Recommended Bets

  • Olimpia win & over 2.5 match goals
    (5/6, paddypower) Nap
  • Olimpia win & over 3.5 match goals
    (2/1, paddypower) Nb

***************************************

Also adding this South American goals quad which looks to have a good chance:

(8.00pm)
PALESTINO VS. UNIVERSIDAD DE CHILE

One of my favourite Chilean fixtures and, despite the last meeting falling short, the H2H record for both sides netting is phenomenal

(8.00pm)
THE STRONGEST VS. GUABIRÁ

La Paz's altitude advantage may just act like kryptonite on lower-lying side Guabira who were spanked 1-4 at home by The Mighty Wilstermann last time out.

The Strongest have a solid and consistent track record when facing Guabira in La Paz and have hit 5-6-3-3-2-5 team goals in successive H2H's.

  • Strongest over 2.5 team goals

(10.00pm)
MONAGAS VS. DEPORTIVO LA GUAIRA

Venezuela's top flight is a funny old league and can be up and down in terms of consistency – but, this is another fixture that has delivered the goods in recent years.

There have been 4 meetings in a 13 month spell and, with scorelines of 2-3, 2-1, 1-2 and 2-3, there's more than a slight chance of seeing the 3 needed here!

  •  Over 2.5 match goals

(11.00pm)
OLIMPIA VS. RIVER PLATE

I just can't see it being a low-scorer, Olimpia have enough to grab 3 or more by themselves but more than happy for Plate to chip in with one!

  • Over 2.5 match goals
