St Mirren v Celtic
Scottish Premiership: St Mirren v Celtic: KO.7:45 Live on BT Sport 1
FINALLY some proper football after an eclectic week of internationals that saw some teams literally phoning it in during the opening rounds of the farcical UEFA Nations League.
Friday night sees St Mirren at home to Celtic. Most domestic Celtic games revolve around one simple premise – how many goals will they win by? So from a betting angle I am looking for extremely likely eventualities and combining them as a value bet.
There are slight unknowns here as it's the first time out for Oran Kearney in the manager's role. He is no mug and was shrewd enough to win the Irish Cup and finish runner-up in the NIPL with Coleraine.
Celtic had a shocking summer with some major defeats home and abroad but now seem back on terra firma with a nice win over Rangers and some solid Europa League fixtures ahead of them.
Celtic have beaten St Mirren 17 times in their last 18 meetings so a Celtic victory is in little doubt. Hence why the bookies have shut the door with prices of 1/5 and less. I think it's only the away factor that Celtic aren't 1/12.
I have managed to dig up a bit of value though .
Betfair Sportsbook #OOT have Celtic to wi , over 9 corners and over 30 in the booking index at a hefty 7/2. Purely based on statistics this series of events is far more likely than Betfair have estimated by my reckoning.
