I watched the whole game and PSV got a very fortunate first half penalty for a harsh handball decision just before HT which was what got them back in the game. I called it double chance – didn’t think BATE would win but they were unlucky not to get a draw there. They equalised to make it 2-2 but then foolishly conceded a minute later as weren’t concentrating. Overall PSV better team but BATE unlucky not to get something from it. Not as black & white as you make out :)

Afternoon everyone, long time lurker but feel I can offer some good insight regarding my team Colchester United.
We hit Crewe for 6 last night and it could it could have been double figures. Our fluid attacking football was great to see and we’re going to be very strong at home this season. Our other home game saw us beat Vale 2-0 which should have been 4 or 5. Our other 2 games have seen trips to 2 strong sides in Notts County (admittedly they’ve been poor so far but are a good side) and Mansfield, earning a draw in each. We setup differently away, although it remains to be seen if this will only be at the better sides in league 2. We’ve conceded just the 1 league goal so far and it a took a 25-yard screamer from Mansfield – a game which we deservedly earned a point at the death.
We’ve recruited well in the summer with 6.3 Harry Pell, 6.2 Frank Nouble and also Luke Norris. These additions have added some much needed steel and to our relatively young squad that relies heavily on academy graduates. Last night we had 6 academy players in our starting lineup which is a testament to our philosophy that is starting to pay dividends with a more balanced squad.
This brings us to our next game which sees the visit of Northampton on Saturday. They’ve started poorly with 2 draws and 2 losses, last night going down 1-0 against a team nailed on for relegation in Morecambe.
The price for a ColU win has already drifted from 6/4 last night now to 6/5 (both bet365), but still presents great value to me. I’ll also be on some handicap bets as I can’t see Northampton scoring. Brennan Dickenson helped himself to 2 good goals last night and is getting back to his form of a couple of seasons ago which got him 12 goals in 39 appearances from the left wing and also our player of the season before doing his cruciate ligament in April and only returning towards the end of last season. He will definitely start barring any injury and is currently 15/4 ATGS. I can’t see these prices lasting the week, and although early bets present a risk, we have no injury concerns and also a deep squad of capable players if such an event were to arise.

Stoke are still looking for their first win since they went down. On paper, Stoke have one of the best teams in championship and should be in the mix for promotion but days like this are the reason championship is a very tough league. Extra midweek games and top 10 teams chasing for promotion makes it very tough for any team. Gary Rowett will certainly play the strongest team tonight against newly promoted Wigan. Wigan score goals but unfortunately they concede more. Their inability to keep clean sheets might play a part in their league finish this season.
Wigan have played 3 league games and have conceded 7 goals. They lost their cup game against Rotherham with 3-1 scoreline. Anyone can see they are leaking goals left right and center. Hence many are expecting goals in this fixture tonight.
