Bolton v Birmingham City
Skybet Championship, Kick-Off: 8pm, Wednesday August 22. Live on Sky Sports Red Button.
I'M not a Bolton fan but I am a fan of tenacity, heart and redemption. Bolton are showing all these traits.
Phil Parkinson's squad have righted their away record after last season's farcical display and have held off a fiercely resurgent Bristol who ran amok in the second half of their clash a couple of weeks ago in Bolton's sole championship home game of this season.
Wednesday night sees them play host to a struggling Birmingham who have yet to win and seem to have a growing problem with temperament.
I always try and squeeze a bit of value out of my tips and Bolton at 9/4 for the win against this Birmingham side is to good to pass up on.
There are also some great wagers to be had in the scorer markets. Wildschut and Magennis have been in top form for Bolton and continue to look hungry – the 11/1 about Wildschut scoring first is a worthwhile speculation at odds that should be more like 7-2 wheres as Magennis anytime goalscorer at 28-11 and Wildschut anytime goalscorer at an outrageous 9-2 are must-haves.
As usual small stakes on the goalscorer bets.
