HELIOBLU BARELIERE (2.50) wins a confident vote at Yarmouth. Ivan Furtado’s gelding led early in the straight at Thirsk but couldn’t quicken before staying on in fourth.
That was a much stronger contest than this one and the handicapper has dropped him a pound. Gabriele Malune’s 5lb claim is another bonus.
ALFARRIS (1.50) remains nicely treated and is fancied to land the Glorious Goodwood curtain-raiser. The William Haggas-trained gelding had more than a length in hand of Rainbow Rebel at Chelmsford City and is 8lb better off with the top weight. Alfarris was then sent to Sandown and just lost out to Melting Dew in a blanket finish. Stall three is a good pitch.
DARK VISION (2.25) represents Mark Johnston, a trainer who does so well at this fixture, and his juvenile looked a very sharp sort when winning at York. Third horse He’zanarab (beaten more than six lengths) came out to win quite cosily on the Knavesmire last Saturday.
SIR DANCELOT (3.35) may be the answer to an open-looking Lennox Stakes. He beat So Beloved in a Group 3 at Newmarket in mid-June before running fourth to U S Navy Flag in the July Cup. There was a whisper for D’bai last night and the Godolphin horse will carry my saver.
At Beverley, THREE SAINTS BAY (4.20) was so impressive here last week that he is hard to oppose under a penalty.
