REMEMBER Terry Gibson? Well, we've signed him and while he won't be kicking a football he'll be looking into his crystal ball and bringing us his best Spanish tips every week.
The ex-Spurs, Coventry and Manchester United striker is probably best remembered for his time as part of the infamous Wimbledon Crazy Gang side of the late 80s and early 90s. Now an expert in all things La Liga he works as a pundit and co-commentator on Sky Sports’ Spanish football coverage and is a contributor to unibet.
Here he previews Barca's trip to Levante.
Levante v Barcelona (Sun 7.45pm)
Two more games for Barcelona since my last blog and they still remain unbeaten in La Liga this season. Will they continue the run for the whole campaign with just two to play? I think they will.
This week they face the in-form team of La Liga. Apart from themselves of course! Levante are on a truly incredible run. In the first 27 games of the season they accumulated 21 points, they were in real trouble of relegation and sacked the coach Juan Muniz.
Up stepped Paco Lopez and he has gained more points in just nine matches played. In his nine games they have won seven, drawn one and lost away at Atletico. That is a haul of 22 points from just nine matches played which has seen them easily draw away from any relegation issues.
Over half of their total 43 points has been gained in just nine matches. They are obviously in form, confidence is flowing and they are a decent football team who were clearly underachieving under the previous coach.
Barcelona certainly have to watch out for Jose Luis Morales who has become one of my favourite players of this season. The 30-year-old winger didn’t turn professional until he was 25 and his direct style of play is exciting to watch, and he has scored some memorable goals this season.
Despite all this I’m going for a 3-1 Barcelona away win. I believe Levante will give them a competitive encounter but I’m backing the attack of Barcelona to have just too much for a relatively limited defence.
Valverde was able to rest a few in the midweek thrashing of Villarreal in which Ousmane Dembele played his best game so far for Barcelona. Luis Suarez didn’t start but I expect him to in this game and I’m going for him to get Barcelona on their way to game 37 unbeaten with the opening goal
