MY colleague Paul Watson in an earlier post makes a compelling case for why Wayne Rooney is likely to remain at Man United.

However, bookies make the England striker odds on to leave Old Trafford before the start of next season.

And his most likely destination, with Paul accepting Man City are the only club who would pay the money, is Eastlands. If that's as daft as it seems then remember Carlos Tevez.

City are 2-1 from a previous 11-2 with Paddy Power having leapfrogged previous favourites Real Madrid who are 5-2. Barca are 11-4 with Chelsea 9-1, Inter 14-1, AC Milan 16-1 and Juventus 20-1.

Rooney is 2-1 with Paddy Power to leave in the January transfer window and 1-3 not to but
8-13 to go in 2011. He is 11-2 to still be at United in 2015.

Sir Alex Ferguson has been cut to 6-4 (from 7-4) by Ladbrokes to be out of the managerial seat at United come the start of the new season. He is 1-2 still to be there. Jose Mourinho is the 5-2 favourite to take over at Old Trafford.
