IT was one of those Saturdays we have come to know so well – too many games to choose from and some ropey results.
For the second Saturday in a row my German both to score treble won – although I lost 1pt for covering.
The Super Single was void for the second day running with Bournemouth drawing. It was a toss-up between them and Watford not to lose at Newcastle so I put the other on for Bet of the Day.
Pretty sure the likes of Greg, Desmond and Scott were out of luck so a big well done to any winners.
Sunday is dominated by the Betfred Cup Final between Motherwell and Celtic and I've posted a separate preview. Also in Scotland is Killie v Aberdeen which the Dons should edge.
In the Premiership Man City are a short price at Huddersfield and we also have Southampton v Everton and Burnley v Arsenal.
Big game on the Continent is Valencia v Barcelona while PSG could be tested at Monaco.
Scott Allot has put up a European fourfold and I can't argue with any of the selections. The two I like best are Roma at Genoa and Napoli at Udinese. Both sides have a 100 per cent away record in Serie A and are playing sides in the bottom half. Udinese are slightly better than Genoa who have one point at home and recently changed managers.
For more reasoning have a look at Scott's post but I'm on Roma and Napoli as a Super Single double. If anyone wants to do a moneyback fivefold consider adding Milan, PSV and Sociedad. That pays 7-1 and I may post it.
A second Super Single is Moussa Dembele to score first for Celtic after confirmation he starts ahead of Leigh Griffiths. He netted first at PSG in midweek and is back to his best after injury problems.
For the goals line I'm including the games at Valencia and Monaco as well Nice v Lyon and Lazio v Fiorentina and reasoning is on a separate thread.
The only acca I'm adding from last night is Man City -1, Juventus -1 and Celtic to win. City should beat Huddersfield away with plenty to spare and same goes for Juve at home to Crotone. I’ve had a few days off from posting tips, and I feel better for it. Hasn’t stopped me from betting though, and I’ve had a good little run. Hopefully I can continue that run on here again!
First off there’s a big playoff game coming up shortly between Nagoya & JEF in the J2 League. Nagoya have been solid all season, banging in the goals (far outscoring everyone else), but their defense has let them down. They only just missed out on an automatic promotion back to the top flight.
JEF United Chiba just snuck into a playoff position by a point, beating out Tokushima. Like Nagoya, they have a fearsome attack (Tokushima and JEF are near deadlocked for the 2nd best attack), but like Nagoya, their defense was very susceptible in most games.
This should be an open game, in which two very attacking teams go all out at eachother to secure a spot in the playoff final.

This game is not likely to be a blockbuster! The Reds see defender Gulum return, but are still without defenders Regan and Elrich, Lia and Absalonsen, and Marrone after his disgraceful episode with a ball boy in last week’s FFA Cup final. The Reds are in mixed form and I don’t have a lot of faith in them at the moment.
Wanderer’s new coach Gombau, is the equal best ever coach that Adelaide ever had. He’s admitted it will be an emotional return to Hindmarsh Stadium with his new club, but it also means that he knows his opponents very well and how to setup against them. He does see an important return in Risdon in defense, as well as returns for Clisby and Melling, but has lost Tyson and Herd.
Wanderers have done little more than draw almost every game this season, with all 3 of their last games being 1-1 draws. This game has draw all over it in my mind, but they also have card happy Chris Beath as referee (averages over 6 cards a game), and I fancy the line on this one.

This won’t be the walkover a few people expect but I do expect celtic to prevail by 1 or 2 goals. I think Motherwell will make a game of it and will quite possibly get on the scoresheet themselves. However it’s the comments from the well manager that drew my interest- they will not try to play celtic at their own game, and will continue to do what brought the successfully to the final. This means one thing for me- cards and lots of them. For those not in the know, motherwells style is rather “agricultural” shall we say, and after the furore over their behaviour in the semi v rangers I can see the ref putting his marker down early. It was a tough day on Saturday with not much luck coming our way in either of our top trebles, nor even in my draw double with all 3 lines falling just 1 goal short.
The Top Treble was beaten by Frankfurt’s failure to score at home to Leverkusen which certainly came as a surprise considering the visitors had only kept 2 clean sheets in their previous 25 on the road.
The NB Treble was let down by Werder Bremen’s failure to score at RBL while my draw double was beaten by a late winner for Augsburg with the Liverpool/Chelsea tie going exactly as predicted with that 1.1 draw later in the day.
Following those disappointments, I allowed myself an extra point on a 11/1 4 fold on the evening selections that were no longer running following the failure of those earlier bets and luckily for me, it came home to save my bacon and give me an even day.
