RESULTS were pretty poor on Saturday – in Scotland anyway – but I managed to escape with a small profit thanks to two winning trebles.
Hindsight tips are great and I wish I'd focused on the English Premier League rather than the Scottish Premiership. Down south there were easy wins for Man City, Liverpool and Chelsea although the majority verdict was Spurs wouldn't lose at Arsenal.
In Scotland it was a different story. After Celtic edged out Ross County 1-0 the three teams below them – Aberdeen, Hibs and Rangers – suffered shock home defeats. A treble on Motherwell, St Johnstone and Hamilton would have paid more than 300-1 and I bet no one did it.
Spurs losing beat one Super Single and the second was void thanks to Kilmarnock draw no bet at Dundee.
My Top Treble was -1 handicap on the Scottish Cup and won at 12-5 thanks to St Mirren, Ayr and Livingston.
And my German both to score treble came up at 33-10 – and I've taken off 0.5pt for covering the stake after Borussia Monchengladbach took the lead in the late game at Hertha Berlin. Peterborough not scoring beat the English goals treble and Rangers and Hibs the moneyback fivefold.
Greg's asked me to ban him from doing WDW tips after his Hibs/Rangers double failed spectacularly.
Still studying a busy Sunday card but have two bets picked out. For the Super Single I'm on Lyon and over 2.5 match goals at home to Montpellier.
Lyon's form has been brilliant and they've won four in a row without conceding. Two of them have been 5-0s and four of their last six wins have gone over 2.5. On the h2h the last four meetings in Lyon have produced 23 goals – three big home victories and a 4-2 Montpellier success.
Our French expert points out star man Nabil Fekir is banned but still tips a 3-1 Lyon win – that would do me just fine.
I went all German on the both to score line yesterday and on Sunday it's all Italian. Start with Sampdoria v Juventus which isn't brilliant on the h2h but on form Juve should win and concede.
Samp have netted 17 in their last five Serie A outings while five of Juve's last six have brought up btts and among those games they conceded to Benevento and SPAL.
Add Udinese v Cagliari with three of the last four meetings in Udine seeing both score. Four of Udinese's last six have saw btts and five over 2.5 goals while Cagliari's last six have gone over 2.5 – three of them btts.
Complete the treble with the late game between Inter and Atalanta. Three of the last five meetings have been high scorers including a 7-1 Inter win and 4-3 defeat.
Five of Inter's last six have seen both score as have Atalanta's previous three. I'm taking Inter at a decent price on the Top Treble with Scott Allot's Schalke to beat Hamburg at home and Valencia not to lose at Espanyol.

Another stalemate night on the A-League. Nothing lost, but nothing gained with 2 voids, a win & a loss. The last 2 days there have been key withdrawals from two teams at the last minute, which (in my opinion) dramatically altered the context of how the games played out.
Perth Glory v Melbourne Victory:
Perth have been in mixed form, and last game had a 5-2 belting from the Phoenix away. At home they are 2 out of 2 however, and I expect more of the same today. Both Taggart and Castro are absent, so Keogh needs to lead the line.
Victory are still winless in the league, but see Milligan and Troisi return. Barbarouses is absent from the side today, as is striker Austin.

Good day yesterday and I’m hesitant to hand it all back. I do have a few fancies, though, so it’s a smaller stakes day.
Think Udinese look a good betting prospect at the prices. Cagliari have played strong opposition on the road, which might embellish their poor away form a little. However, they have consistently conceded at home and even leaked at home to bottom two Verona and Benevento. Udinese themselves are strong on their own turf, scoring in each game and putting 2+ past the likes of Juventus, Atalanta and Sampdoria. They’ve also put 10 past Cagliari in their last 4 home meetings.
After scoring 4 in an international break friendly last weekend, Udinese should be as sharp as any side, too.
