IT was one winning treble and a losing one with Wolves the stars of the show.
Wolves and Eintracht Frankfurt won against Fulham and Werder Bremen respectively – I had them both draw no bet – while Real Betis bounced back from 2-0 down to draw and give me a 13-10 winner.
I thought I'd put it up as a Super Single but I marked it Top Treble so will include it in those stats.
Wolves also continued the latest £10 to £1000 Betting Club challenge and next bet will be up today.
My Dutch both to score treble was a loser though and well done to all the winners including Greg and Jordan.
So after a decent week we're back to what has been for me dreaded Saturdays. I've lost on the last three then followed up with Sunday successes.
Normally I tinker with my Daily Record bets but the moneyback fivefold and goals bets are the same. Shaw Lane is courtesy of Johnb and I like the reasoning as they tackle their first FA Cup proper tie at home to Mansfield in front of the TV cameras.
In the paper the Super Single is Celtic to win to nil at St Johnstone but here I'm taking Celtic -2 AH. Celtic will make it a British record 63 domestic games without defeat if they win or draw and I can see them reaching the landmark in style.
Brendan Rodgers has no need to rest players with an international break coming up and he won't fear a Saints side who haven't scored in five. Celtic should win by at least two and I can see them triumphing 3-0 or 4-0.
With that winning early I'm adding a second Super Single of Sampdoria draw no bet at Genoa. Samp are in fine form and I'd back them for the straight win if it wasn't a derby.
My Top Treble is also different from the one in the Record and I'm starting with Valencia who should make it seven wins in a row although Leganes are in decent form. Add Motherwell not to lose at Ross County and on-form Stenhousemuir to beat managerless Clyde.

Preston’s defensive injury woes continued in midweek and they ended the game against Villa with an attacking midfielder playing in the back 4. The first 5 defenders in the pecking order are all injured and claims are that there are 7 (or 8, depending on where you read) defenders out injured in total. Another price shorter than I’d like but I can’t look beyond Fylde tomorrow in the cup. They welcome last season’s title rivals Kidderminster in what is a very winnable first round tie. They are an ambitious club and have always faced league opposition in their recent 1st round forays. Vibes from the club are very much that they are up for it tomorrow and they come into the game in good form (3 consecutive wins, 7 scored, 0 conceded).
Their games with Kidderminster were entertaining last season (3-3 and 2-2) and Fylde since pinched their player of the season and two other starters in the summer. Kidderminster do come into this in decent form but have just one clean sheet on the road so far. They also conceded 2 and 3 at two of the better NLN sides (Brackley, Salford).
Fylde should certainly have the edge though and I fancy them to get the job done in pursuit of a glamour tie.

I dont fancy the City/Arsenal game myself, I think Arsenal will adopt a very cautious approach to the game and keep all men behind the ball and unsuccessfully try playing on the counter. Think it may be a narrow City win to nil myself but I bet a lot of other may think differently.

One game jumping out at me in the Premier League games.
Southampton have won only 2 from 7 in all competitions at home.
Burnley have lost 1 in 6 on the road, that was against Man City. They’ve drawn against Spurs and Liverpool and beat Chelsea and Everton.
How the bookies have priced Burnley up at 6/1 is beyond me.
That gives us a nice 11/8 with Betfair on the double chance market for my main bet but I’ll also be having a smaller stake on the 6/1 for a Burnley win.

Id happily take a 0-0 draw today at St Marys and must say it is a breath of fresh air to see us playing so well on our travels. Would like to see who starts up top with a number of attacking options now available to Sean Dyche. Nahki Wells is well underway to making his comeback and scored a hatrick for our Under 23s and looks eager to make his debut but I think we will stick to the 4-4-1-1 formation that has worked so well for us this season which would probably mean use of just the target man. Would like Barnes to start again today as he can really be a handful and is far more aggressive than our other forwards. Lemina will be a miss for Soton. Not sure of us scoring but I think the double result for Burnley has a good shot, I dont think we will get more than one goal today so if you think we will win, maybe consider Burnley to win 1-0 @ 14/1. For me, this game will be a draw though, either 0-0 or 1-1.

Cheers for the insight. I can’t say I disagree with you. Goals will be at a premium. Southampton are not formidable goal scorers. Pretty sure Dyche will set you up to be hard to beat as he always does. As the game goes on and frustration grows I can see you nicking it second half. Possible 0-0 HT, 1-0 Burnley in the second half. The 11/8 double chance is real value IMO.

One game jumping out at me in the Premier League games.
Southampton have won only 2 from 7 in all competitions at home.
Burnley have lost 1 in 6 on the road, that was against Man City. They’ve drawn against Spurs and Liverpool and beat Chelsea and Everton.
How the bookies have priced Burnley up at 6/1 is beyond me.
That gives us a nice 11/8 with Betfair on the double chance market for my main bet but I’ll also be having a smaller stake on the 6/1 for a Burnley win.

Dereck Chisora still has ambitions to fight again for the World Championship and becoming European champion would springboard him into contention. I don’t believe he’ll knockout his opponent Agit Kabayal who has yet to be dropped but I believe he’ll use all of his experience to box clever and to ensure it goes the full distance. There is the possible big money rematch with Dillian Whyte as well a fight against the “weakest” of the current champions WBO title holder Joseph Parker on the horizon if he gets through tonight, and he should use that as an incentive to look good in Monaco.

Very disappointing day today all bets down, need to do much better tomorrow.
