SEP 11-12: THE SAINT GREG BROWNING’S TIPS

GregBrowning

GREG’S been quiet this week with international games not his favourite but he’s looking to be back with a bang over the weekend.

I’ll add his selections to the post when I get a chance but watch out for them as comments.

Greg says: As you know I absolutely hate international “fortnight” – delighted it’s now over and we can concentrate on domestic affairs.

I’ve looked through today’s card and there is nothing standing out for me – tomorrow however is a different story and I’ve found a number of matches I really like from the Scottish leagues and a few from England.

Of the games today Nancy and Dinamo Kiev U21s both look strong favourites at home (both 1-2).

And if anyone is looking for a goals bet the Armenian First Division match between Pyunick II v Ulisses II looks decent.

Carlisle v Dag & Red (Sat)

It’s certainly not been dull being a Carlisle fan this season with 30 goals scored in the eight matches they’ve been involved in. Both teams have scored in their four home matches and they welcome a Dag & Red team who I mentioned last week are playing better than their league position suggests.

They’ve beaten both Cambridge and Northampton in their last two away games which were fantastic results. They’ll fancy their chances here against a leaky Carlisle defence but are themselves likely to concede.

Good chance of both teams scoring and that should lead us to goals.

Back over 2.5 Match goals 19-20 (Bet365) (NAP)

Stirling Albion v Montrose (Sat)

The hosts finally got their first win of the season last week with a hard-fought 3-2 success at East Stirling. Prior to that their performances should have yielded more points but they’ll fancy their chances of winning consecutive matches against travel-sick Montrose.

The Links Park men have made a decent start to the season but all of their good work has been done at home on their plastic pitch. Away from home it’s a different story – they’ve won just once in 12 months (17 matches) and have concdeded two or more goals in 15 of those games.

Back Stirling over 1.5 team goals (10-11, Bet365) (NB)

Quite a few matches I fancy tomorrow gents across different markets and its been difficult to decide which one to go with for my NAP as I had 3 on the shortlist –

    Carlise v Dag & Red

It’s certainly not been dull being a Carlise fan this season with 30 goals scored in the the 8 matches they’ve been involved in! Both teams have scored in their 4 home matches and they welcome a Dag & Red team who I mentioned last week are playing better than there league position suggests! They’ve beaten both Cambrige and Northampton in their last 2 away games which were fantastic results! They’ll fancy their chances here against a leaky Carlsie defence but themselves too likely to conceed! Good chance of both teams scoeing and that should lead us to goals

Back over 2.5 Match goals 19/20 (Bet365) (NAP)

    Scottish selections

There are at least 6 or 7 matches I kike the look of feom the Scottish leagues, have tried to whittle them down

    Stirling Albion v Montrose

The hosts finally got their 1st win of the season last week with a hard fought 3-2 win away at East Stirlin! Prior to that they’re performances should have yielded more points than they did but they’ll fancy there chances of winning consecutive matches against travel sick Montrose! The Links Park men have made a decent start to the season but all of their good work has been done at home on their plastic pitch! Away from home its a different story – they’ve won just once away from home in 12 months ( 17 matches) and worribmhy for them they have concdeded 2 or more goals in 15 of those games

Back Stiring over 1.5 team goals 10/11 (Bet365) (NB)

That’s fair and well but how many times do Stirling score 2 goals at home ?

    Cowdenbeath v Peterhead

That’s 10 of Cowedenbeath’s last 12 games that have seen 3 or more goals. So far this season their league average is 4.6 goals per game and that’s pretty massive.

Peterhead have seen 3 or more goals in 10 of their last 12 away matches. This game points to a real glut of goals so anyone who fancies +3.5 goals at 2/1 with William Hill should knock themselves out.

The more conservative can still get +2.5 match goals at a price of 1.73(8/11) available with McBookie and that still looks to represent a fair bit of value.

    Raith v QOS

Put simply each of Raith’s last 12 home games have seen +2.5 goals. While they haven’t been getting amongst the goals away from home this season they have scored 11 home goals already this season. John Daly should have another week under his belt too and that should give them more firepower.

Queen Of The South have been less reliable for goal gluts this season but with Raith’s record it’s hard to leave this one out of contention.

Particularly with Skybet offering 1.8(4/5) for 3 or more goals in the game.

3-1 FT in Armenia and 2-0 Kiev FT

  7. Greg Browning 1 year ago

Majority of my stakes are on the NAP and NB, my other selections for tomorrow

East Fife to beat Arbroath 3/4
    Morecombe to beat Newport 9/5

5 matches from Scotland I feel that have the best chances of seeing goals (over 2.5)

    Dundee United v Kilmarnock
    Brechin v Forfar
    Stenhousemuir v Stranraer
    East Fife v Arbroath
    Stirling Albion v Montrose

To be used as sing doubles etc

It’s difficult to look back as they were in League 1 last season – scored two or more in their last three homes games against Montrose

Did consider the home win at 11/10 but matches can often finish 2-2 3-3 in this league

  9. John 1 year ago

Will have a small stakes bet on all those games Greg, only missed out by 2 goals last week so hopefully we can all see the onion bag bulge quite often tomorrow :-)

  10. Greg Browning 1 year ago

It won’t be far away John, good luck mate

  11. jim 1 year ago

I was also thinking Morecambe. Greg are you doing anything yourself on the Hearts game tonight?

  12. Greg Browning 1 year ago

Jim, thought about doing BTTS as Bearta struggle to keep clean sheets, however there’s a lot I fancy tomorrow so just leaving it! Hearta should win

Good stuff Mr F, massive price considering how poor Newport are and the fact Morecombe have been scoring for fun recently!

  13. Jim 1 year ago

Yes me too. Trying just to stick to your naps with larger stakes at the moment. Forest green -1 does also tempt me.

  14. Wato 1 year ago

Greg looking good in France mate :) haha good luck tomorrow on your nap and nb

  15. Greg Browning 1 year ago

must admit Jim, I’m not a fan of handicap betting, especially in leagues where amyone can beat anyone –

  16. Greg Browning 1 year ago

Haha, just need the 22 goals scored in the second half Wato :)

  17. Wato 1 year ago

Greg will take that only had one after 18 mins lol

Regarding Carlisle. You would be wise to put over 3.5 too.our defence is awful.has been for 3 years.Keith curle keeps insisting we play our way out of defence but we simply can not play that why with the players we have.god knows how Barnet didn’t beat us last week.it was 2-2 early doors.we are great up front now but I can confidently say we won’t keep a clean sheet anytime soon. so my advise would be over 3.5 goals or match result with both to score-wouldnt like to say which way mind.

  19. Greg Browning 1 year ago

Dave, I can’t argue with that – matxh is tough to call in terms of who’s going to win but goals should be on the cards for bith sides, I’ll be happy with just three :)

    How’s Lee Miller Doing?

  20. dave-carlisle 1 year ago

He’s been left Carlisle for a bit.sure he went to Kilmarnock then on to Falkirk.

  21. Greg Browning 1 year ago

Just ignore me mate, I saw miller scored last week and assumed it was him! Your right, he left Carlsie ages ago haha

  25. dave-carlisle 1 year ago

  37. Greg Browning 1 year ago

Morning gents – had a good look through today’s card and have found one I like from the Swiss Super league and a ground I’ve visited following the might Perth Saints in Europe

    Lucerne v Grasshopper KO 12.45pm

The visitors have gone goal crazy this season – their opening 7 matches have seen an incredible 38 goals! They’ve won 5 of those and which has taken them to 2nd! They’ve found the net on 24 occasions scoring 5, 2, 3, 6, 3, 2, 3 but defensively they have been poor! Their gung-ho approach has seen them concede in all but one of their league games! Despite being second only three clubs have conceded more gosls than they have! Lucerne have had a decent enough start to the season, two of their threehome matches have seen over 2.5 goals and they have scores in 6 of their 7 league games! Given Grasshoppers tactics of if you score 2 we’ll score 3, both teams to score is likely and they should lead us to goals

Back over 2.5 match goals (4/5 BV) (NAP)
