I'M on a decent run with the Super Singles and Juventus to score in both halves made it three in row.

They were the only pick there was no argument about with opinions split on the earlier two – Barcelona -4 and Liverpool – but healthy debate is good.

I've had a good look at the Saturday card and my Super Single shortlist is drawn up purely after looking at form and stats and taking teams priced evens and above. I haven't studied team news but will do so on Friday.

Let me know if there are any good reasons for crossing off any of the 10 teams on my list.

Super Single shortlist

QPR v West Brom

Hull v SWANSEA

Southampton v EVERTON

DERBY v Norwich

WOLVES v Brighton

Peterborough v PRESTON

Hartlepool v OXFORD

Ross County v HAMILTON

St Mirren v MOTHERWELL

Dunfermline v STRANRAER

Probably sensible for punters to start backing against Newcastle. I think we’re embarking on another of our epic losing runs. They’re like clockwork under Pardew.

I think Simon is spot on to flag up newcastle as potentially now being at a point where the value has to be in backig against them. Two abject deteats on the spin and they now face a Sunderland side who have lost just 1 of their last 7 (to man city). Add to that the fact sunderland have won the last three runnings of this fixture, Including consecutive 3-0 wins at st James park, and 10/11 Double Chance looks very tempting. 16/5 for the win is perhaps a touch short for a side with just 2 wins in their last 15 matches, but It’s worth considering.

Hi Ad, have you checked out the sackpardew.com website? Some pretty stunning facts here http://sackpardew.com/facts/

I like Wolves and Derby from the shortlist.

What about Blues away at Huddersfield.

Over 2/1 and on the back of a 6-1 win against Reading!

    Massive price imo.

    • Mr Fixit 9 years ago

Jake, Birmingham could be in there but Huddersfield’s 5-0 was down to a red card last week.

Derby or Wolves for me. Took Norwich half an hour of playing time and a 15 minute half time team talk before they got their first against 10 man Huddersfield which must have been the killswitch for Huddersfield right after the break. Only flag that’s being thrown up for me is Norwich beat Wigan away and Wigan beat Derby at home.

Wolves not as good form wise but certainly better than Brighton. Brighton need a result otherwise Hyypia could be gone so I’d tend to side with Derby. Good luck Mr F sure the choice will be the right one regardless.

    • Mr Fixit 9 years ago

Jordan, hopefully I’ll make the right choice but lots of thinking to do. Goodnight all.

Don’t usually bet on Scottish football but like the look of Stranraer to beat Dunfermline,

Stranraer sit 2nd in the table, have only lost once away so far this season, are in good overall form (last 5 games W4 D1,) scored the most away from home- 15 goals & beat Dunfermline on the 9th of December in a cup game 3-1 (though I’ve not checked the strength of both teams in that one,) the only thing that would put me off is h2h matches before that cup game.

If not win then just goals- the last 4 h2h matches (all comps) have seen over 2.5 mg,

  6. QPR FAN 9 years ago

QPR shouldnt be in there…. well…. because they are QPR :*(

  7. Marky mark 9 years ago

Shaun in the Scottish Cup teams generally play their strongest teams available. You are dead right on Stranear though they have had the better of the Fifers this season and are great value at 23/10. Dunfermline are on a bad run at the moment and have been in the habit of losing goals recently, after being so tight at the start of the season, especially late ones when they should be seeing games out…ill be on this as DNB as the price is too good to ignore with Stranear recent form and Dunfermline’s recent demise and of course the rece t H2H’s. For the record Dunfermilne are my only antepost team ‘doing ma heid in!’ at the moment, so a win to buck their trend isnt the worst thing in the world for me but I cant see it all things considered.

  8. Marky mark 9 years ago

Shaun, Also on the overs markets you’ll be doing well to get 1/2 due to the poor standard of the league unfortunately…so may need to go to 3.5 for a decent price.

I’m getting my weekend bets up early:

    Super Single:
    12.15
    Championship
    Derby v Norwich
    DERBY TO WIN
    5/4
    (BetVictor)

The dreaded early kick off ready to scupper your weekend bets.
Derby are coming off the back of two defeats but you have to take into careful consideration who they lost to.
Middlesbrough who have been in very good form this season dispatched of the Rams 2-0 with former Derby player Bamford inevitably getting them into a 6min lead.
Then cam Chelsea who aren’t that bad of a side really.
McLaren will be keen for his boys to put those two results by the way side and get back to the form that saw them put 5 and 3 away to Wolves and Brighton respectively.

Norwich thumped Huddersfield by 5 last weekend and then a solid away win at Wigan the week before makes them the form team out of these two sides. This doesn’t tell the whole story though. Prior to the 1-0 away win at Wigan they had lost four of the previous 5.

It’s a great price for Derby who for me are the team to beat this year in the Championship and I’m expecting them to bounce back from their ‘mini-blip’

    Lucky 4
    Derby draw no bet
    Man City
    Spurs
    West Ham
    Approx 4/1
    (BetVictor)

All at home, all against weaker opposition and I expect this to be a solid enough accumulator.

    Double Delight
    Spurs
    West Ham

    Approx 1.5/1
    (BetVictor)

  16. Mark 9 years ago

Livingston 12/1.. Away to Rangers… Not in the best of form.. But could be a case of new manager syndrome.. And with all going on at Ibrox.. You never know…

  17. Nathan Ufton 9 years ago

I’m inclined to agree about craigboys write-up. our last league game was our toughest one we’ll get this season and Tuesdays game wasn’t all one way traffic against argueably the best team in the country and they fielded probably their best available side.
People forget we’ve only lost 2 or 3 games at home since March – that’s some record. I think on current form we have the 4th best home record in the league and 4th best away record.

5/4 is a very good price, I was inclined to take Chris Martin anytime goalscorer at 11/8 for my super single, until I saw the 5/4. Derby still have not hit their top form & we’ve taken a wobble at leeds ( the spineless ref didn’t help ) and middlesborough deserved to beat us.

  18. Rob 'Sooty' Sutton 9 years ago

Derby is too much of a risk for me with Norwich winning so comfortabley last week + they have got one of the best sides in the championship. I think it could be a score draw.

Wolves look the best bet to me. Brighton were awful when they came to the ipro, also like the look of watford too. Surprised there not on your shortlist Mr f!

    • Mr Fixit 9 years ago

Rob, I can’t put everyone on the shortlist but Watford were on the longer list. Norwich’s easy win came against 10 men remember.

  19. Baldy45 9 years ago

This is the first time I’ve disagreed with most of your shortlist, Mr F. In fact, I can only pick 1 from that list that I might be tempted by – Hamilton Accies. The fixtures this weekend do look tough tho. Can’t really see anything solid at Evs or better. Man U and West Ham are the the two I’m looking at but they’re a bit shorter at 4/6. On Sunday I like Newcastle at 11/10, but that’s another day. Good luck whatever you decide.

  20. lee cunliffe 9 years ago

I love betting against Hartlepool they seem like such a shambles at present, couldnt believe Wycombe were odds against the other week against them and Oxford should compile their misery and would be my SS shout. I have already put them in a treble with Spurs at Homes to Burnley and Swindon at home

4.5/1 Treble – Spurs, Swindon, Oxford (A) thats the xmas Champagne paid for

    • Mr Fixit 9 years ago

lee, one thing to consider is Hartlepool have appointed Ronnie Moore as boss.

  21. Ritchie 9 years ago

How about a BTTS & over SS ?? Even if it is not a single bet…we won`t hold that against you!Keep up the good run & g`luck this weekend.Cheers.

    • Mr Fixit 9 years ago

Ritchie, I think you’re missing the point about the Super Single – it will never be a btts and match result pick which in my opinion is a treble.

  22. SefK 9 years ago

isn’t putting up a team to win to nil a treble too.. you have put that up as a super single before, what is the difference? surely that is BTTS No + Match Result

    • Mr Fixit 9 years ago

Sefk, not in my opinion. Games start at 0-0 – so for win to nil you need one team to score … nothing else. For match result and btts you need 3 goals minimum.

  23. NB 9 years ago

    Man united over 1.5 goals – 8/11
Bournemouth to beat Blackpool – 7/10

Neither evens but both good prices imo

  24. SefK 9 years ago

    fair play Sir

  25. RoasterBets 9 years ago

I know you don’t do the BTTS and over 2.5 MrF but a very very good one for people to consider in this market is Accrington vs Wycombe on Saturday

I am on the train so I can’t load both teams recent games, all high scoring and bth teams tend to score in L2. :)

    • craigyboy 9 years ago

Roasterbets I do agree with the Wycombe game looking good for goals. Wycombe have a great away record but they always concede one. I highlighted that game in a thread a couple of days ago. Amazingly you can get an in form Wycombe at 7/5.
With my super single I do prefer a home win over an away win if I can get it and that’s why I’m taking on Derby. I agree Wolves should win but as a Wolves fan I’ve stopped backing them.

  26. trimnell 9 years ago

    Swindon town,sure bet.
    I lik westham
    Tottenham
    Derby county
    Qpr

  27. bradsbets 9 years ago

Wycombe have the best away record in league two and beat promotion rivals Southend 4-1 last time out but are rated at 7/5@ hills And corals to win at 11th placed Accrington….

    Wycombe to win 7/5

  28. bradsbets 9 years ago

    I have put down

    – man city 3/10 –

    – Halifax 4/9 –

But will wait to see the tips tomorrow as for to what to add

  29. craigyboy 9 years ago

Wycombe are also 6/5 to score over 1.5 goals. Might be a slightly safer option then the outright win.

  30. Sean Ireland 9 years ago

Mr F not sure if anyone has already mentioned them if so my apologies but did you not consider Wycombe to win or to score over 1.5 goals for the Super single list? Both well over evens.
Wycombe have only lost 1 away from 10 this season winning 7,scored 14 last 5 lg games and 13 last 5 aways winning 4.
Opposition Accrington stanley have third worst defense in the lf conceding 34 in 20 games.
Be very surprised if Wycombe cant get over 1.5 goals tomorrow.

    • Mr Fixit 9 years ago

Sean, Wycombe are on the list in front of me but can’t remember if they made the shortlist – looks a good card tomorrow but we can only tell after the results.

  31. Sean Ireland 9 years ago

Sorry craigyboy just seen your post right above mine,i should read the other posts before i start rambling ;)
