JOHNB banked a 1.5pt profit on Monday to finish October 1.73pts up.
He’s hoping to get November off to a flier on today and has high hopes for his double-stake tip which was advised at 14-1 last week. Johnb says: “The money has come for a few horses in the Melbourne Cup with Big Orange one of them, now a best price 11-1and as low as 7-1.
“He wouldn’t want too much rain and although it’s to rain most of the day it’s not meant to get that heavy and the track should be able to take it. Also the best horses can still win when things don’t go their way.
“Expect Big Orange to try and make all, yes even with Jamie “hold up” Spencer onboard. Last year he also tried to make all and gave the horse a breather down the back straight which he won’t do this year.
“Michael Bell says that now they know this horse needs a strongly run two mile race they don’t need to give the horse a breather and can also kick for home a lot earlier.

Johnb says: “I have already advised Churchill for next year’s 2000 Guineas & Derby – he has been really impressive this season and my view is he will get even better next year.
“Blue Point on the other hand is harder to call for how he will progress next year. If he trains on then in my view it’s a straight fight between Blue Point & Churchill but in the Derby Churchill is the only horse for me – he gives me the same excitement as Golden Horn did.
“But to answer my question earlier the most impressive horse I have seen this year is BLUE POINT with Churchill and Annie Power a close second and third.”
