IT was a better day for goals unless you were a Chelsea fan witnessing their third 0-0 in eight days.

Myself and Greg both agreed it was a difficult card on Saturday and that's why I focused on goals. Anyone getting a decent WDW line up will have done well.

For my Super Single I went with Plymouth to score and Charlton to score and that won at 6-5.

My Scottish goals treble won at 4-1 but the other two goals trebles were beaten.

The Top Treble ended up being a double on Peterhead to score 2+ and Nice with Plymouth draw no bet void.

Well done to any winners and they included Desmond with a both to score double, Jordan with his only bet that was over 2.5 goals at Watford and Scott Allot with his Euro treble.

So that's two profitable Saturdays since I decided to put fewer bets and concentrate on goals – that will be the policy until my luck changes.

On Sunday the big game is Liverpool v Man City and I've posted a preview based on what I wrote yesterday while stats have been posted by Unibet blogger Steve Jennings. Latest news is Virgil van Dijk is out for Liverpool but considering he's played just one game it isn't a massive blow.

The other Premier League game is Bournemouth v Arsenal and there should be goals at the Vitality. This match finished 3-3 last season and the Cherries’ last five have produced 21 goals while both sides have scored in each of Arsenal’s last four.

I'm putting it on a treble with over 2.5 goals at Dortmund v Wolfsburg and btts at Estoril v Porto on Monday. Six of the past eight Wolfsburg visits have seen btts and overs but I have some concerns about whether Wolfsburg will score.

Hopefully they will and the treble runs on to Estoril v Porto on Monday. The last five meetings in Estoril have saw both scoring and over 2.5 goals and their last three matches have gone over 2.5. Porto have conceded in four out five with all five going over 2.5 goals.

Elsewhere Barcelona are aiming to move nine clear at the top of La Liga with a win at Real Sociedad but last season was their first success there in eight visits – and that was in the cup. In France PSG head to Nantes looking to stay 11 in front of Monaco.

Don't see much that takes my fancy but trying a fourfold featuring Barca, PSG, Dortmund and Lyon at home to Angers. All of these are tipped on the previews posted by our Unibet bloggers and I like them all.

Add at a higher price Borussia M'gladbach at Cologne for a moneyback fivefold. This is by far the riskiest bet but if the others win the stake will be refunded as a free bet.

Cologne brought in Stefan Ruthenbeck before Christmas but he has lost four in five and a side that finished fifth last season are rock bottom and nine points adrift of Hamburg. Gladbach remain in contention for a Champions League place and while they have lost their last three away without scoring they must be targeting the points here.

Only bet I can call a winner was a £34 cash oot from a quid on Southampton, Swansea & West Ham BTTS/WIN. Would’ve paid £330 but thank feck it didn’t, ended up wi 1/3. Others no even close apart from a 3+ gls/WIN treble Spurs, Peterhead and…..Real Madrid. Can’t see PSG no beating them in tge CL but values gone, 4/5 best

    Great shooting Mr F ??

Been a disappointing few weeks for me – Raith finishing 1-1 after being 1-1 after 47 mins sums it up

Great day for goals in that league + the Peterhead train is gathering momentum

Of to Cliftonhill next Saturday for our Scottish cup tie against Albion Rovers – first trip there for me and many others, proper football ground ?

    • Mr Fixit 6 years ago

Cheers, that’s the nicest thing anyone’s said about Cliftonhill.
Looking forward to the cup games – at least no one will be resting players.

Better return yesterday with one of my main tips winning, and the other being money back. We have the two matches for today in the A-League.

Central Coast Mariners v Melbourne City:
Mariners are in a spot of bother, winless in their last 5 games, and they’ve lost a host of players heading into this one. Rose and Hoole are suspended, and both Brama and Pain are now out through injury.

City’s form has improved of late, with two wins from their last two matches. They are without Mauk, Kamua and Tongyik in this game, and Carrusca has left the club (for Wanderers). For me this one looks to be an away win.

    Adelaide v Sydney FC:
The Reds have had an inconsistent season, and their home record is one of the worst. They do see Adlung and Absalonsen back into their squad, but otherwise have little else to cheer about.

Sydney are, like last year, the strongest team in the league. They are leading the league table by 5 points, have won 9 of their last 10 games in all competitions, and have goalscorers all over their squad. Routine victory for Sydney is on the cards.

    Tips:
    Melbourne City win @ evens
    McCormack – atgs @ 1.72
    Bobo – atgs @ 1.83
    Sydney FC – score before 43rd min @ 1.83
    Sydney FC win & over 2.5 goals @ 2.75

    Sundays goal tips
    Tip 1 over 1.5mgs
    Dortmund v Wolfsburg
    Lyon v angers
    Bournemouth v arsenal
    Leuven v union
    29/25 bet 365

    Tip 2 over 1.5 tgs
    Man City
    Lyon
    Dortmund
    Psg
    59/15 bet 365 (1.5pts)

    Tip 3 btts/o2.5
    Bournemouth v arsenal
    Liverpool v Man City
    Dortmund v Wolfsburg
    5/1 bet 365 (1pt)

    Other tip
There looks to be 5 good away bets today. I know a certain someone will disagree with one of them? but I can’t see past a Man City won today. Sure Liverpool have Home advantage, and a great record there against Man City but these runs come to an end at some point and city have been away to better sides this season and won comfortably.

    Sydney
    Arsenal
    Man City
    Barca
    Psg
14/1 Marathonbet (I’m using mcbookie. 12/1 but stake back for 1 wrong)

    • sean567 6 years ago

I also wouldn’t put anyone off taking Sydney as a single. 4/5 is a decent price for a larger stake bet. It’ll be a tight match but I fancy them to come thru. I’ve put 5pts on them just as an indication of how much I like them

    • maccathered 6 years ago

Name one better side that Man City have beaten away?? ya crackers.

    • sean567 6 years ago

In my opinion macca, Chelsea, Man Utd and Napoli are CURRENTLY better than Liverpool

    • maccathered 6 years ago

You think Chelsea and Man Utd are better than Liverpool??and Napoli Behave yourself Sean, when the champions league was play offs were drawn a lot of us Liverpool lads were saying that the only team maybe to give us a game would be Napoli, but no way are Napoli a better team than Liverpool and thats not been biased either, where do you get United and Chelsea are better they poo themselves every time we play them, pleased i’m not taking your tips haha.

    • sean567 6 years ago

A wee glance at the league table tells me that they’re better than Liverpool just now. Yes in one off games Liverpool can match them. As for City today, my thinking is you’ve lost coutinho, salah although has passed a late fitness test won’t be 100% completely fit and if you go thru the teams Man for Man for me only can dijk Robertson and salah would displace any of the City starting 11.

    • sean567 6 years ago

A wee look at the league tells me their currently better mate, yes Liverpool can match them in one off games but that doesn’t make them better. League tables don’t lie. As for City my thinking is there’s no coutinho, mane hasn’t hit top form and salah despite passing a late fitness test won’t be completely 100% fit. When I go thru the teams Man for Man there’s only van dijk, Robertson and salah I would displace any of the City starting 11 with, so they are better all over the pitch imo.

    • newts68 6 years ago

At this moment it time Chelsea and Man United are better than Liverpool@maccathered the league table says so

    • maccathered 6 years ago

Yep agreed they are above Liverpool and football is all about opinions i respect that,i always believe its the end of season position that counts, now if you was to look at the table in more depth then your opinion might be swayed just a little.

    • maccathered 6 years ago

I also believe Tottenham Hotspur are CURRENTLY better than Man Utd but they sit fifth so they can’t be can they??

    • newts68 6 years ago

      To watch there both better

    • mal c 6 years ago

Liverpool have only took 6pts from 18pts against top five teams
Man City against other five teams is 15pts from five games played

Looks to me Klopp can’t handle when playing the big team

    • simpledxb 6 years ago

If Klopp plays to attack Citeh then it’s difficult to see how Citeh will not tear Liverpool apart. Citeh are by far and away one of the most prolific and impressive sides going forward I’ve seen for a very long time.

I do admire the confidence in one’s own team @maccathered but it is difficult to look beyond what the stats and games have shown this year… and that is that Citeh are a much much much better side than Liverpool.

Here’s just hoping for not another bore draw… Would be good to see a 4-4 thriller :)

My money is going on o2.5gls and that’s pretty much it. GL all!

    • joe90 6 years ago

Simple, smart bet I’d go along with that. Similar approach to mine, even if I am a Liverpool fan I can’t see anything but goals, Liverpool having home advantage makes this a 50/50 game. Anyone listening to advice to people tipping Liverpool, I’d advise caution and take the draw no bet. City have to be respected

    • gaz1105 6 years ago

Unfortunately there is no reasoning when it comes to talking football with Liverpool fans, just accept they are the best and it’s their year, smile and move on

    • maccathered 6 years ago

Thats a bit of a statement considering you have backed against your own team,@Simple if you watched the first encounter at the emptihad then you will see how easy this Liverpool side cut city open and i do mean easily,we could have been three or four up before that red card and thats no exageration anyone who doubts me should watch it,now i see it been no different today.

    • boabee8867 6 years ago

Sorry guys but today’s outcome will be determined as always by who performs on the day..thats the way any sport works …what happened last week ,last month or what stats have said in the past will have no bearing today….

    • simpledxb 6 years ago

Isn’t backing against one’s own team an oxymoron? ?

I’m a villa fan @maccathered – I’m not even sure what your inference is intended towards? Citeh are a better team that Liverpool all hands down – and I offer that without regard to where either team is located on the M62. If Citeh turn up and play, they’ll beat Liverpool all hands down. If they don’t they won’t.

Good luck with your Nap bet though mate, and again genuine respect in the faith and ability of your own team (it’s been a long time since I enjoyed that as a villa fan). Again, I’m just hoping for a premier league classic rather than the snore draw shite of late – Chelski v Leicester being the last serving of ? I’ve struggled through.

    • maccathered 6 years ago

Most Liverpool fans are confident we can win today, those who aren;t are the woolybacks no one likes a woolyback.

    • gaz1105 6 years ago

City’s played 3 at the back that day and granted Salah has the freedom of the Etihad that day but city were one up at the time of the red card so I don’t buy the we could have been 3 up at the time of red card. I do think Liverpool will win today but I’ll take a friendly wager with anyone they won’t be finishing second come the end of the season

  18. kf 6 years ago

Morning Gents….I’m sure it’s probably blindingly obvious, but can someone explain to me what a ‘multi-corner’ is and how that’s different from a ‘normal’ or ‘asian’ corner?
    Cheers
    Pete

    • HullShaker 6 years ago

      Goals x corners pal

    • kf 6 years ago

So, if for instance you took Liverpool 4.5 multicorners, does that mean they have to score 2.25goals and have 2.25 corners?…sorry if tis is a thick question

    • hampy 6 years ago

Multi corners is amount in fh corners multiplied by 2nd half
      Eg 5 x 5= 25

    • kf 6 years ago

Ignore that last post…got it now!

    • liamw 6 years ago

      2 goals and 2 corners wouldn’t be enough 2 x 2 = 4. But a third corner or third goal would see it come in – i.e. 3 x 2 = 6.

      Or 5 corners and 1 goal etc (5 x 1 = 5) and so on

    • liamw 6 years ago

Sorry ignore that – as Hampy said it is correct….

    • HullShaker 6 years ago

I’ve no issues when betting against my own team and have done so again today, Liverpool are simply to big at 23/10 which is what I got midweek with bet365, factor in Liverpool have the second best pool of attacking players behind city, the way they counter attack with pace and purpose and also city’s abysmal record at anfield, few other bets I like and will risk a small stake on:

Van Dijk to score a header 20/1
    Salah first goal 11/2
    Liverpool over 2.5tgs 10/3

It’s been a good weekend with 5 winners out of 6, so I’m hesitant to dive into a card today that, to me, looks tough again.

I’m really struggling to call the game at Anfield. City have passed every single test this season, and with relative ease, but Liverpool were the only side I’ve seen cause them real trouble in the reverse prior to Mane’s red. As a neutral, I can only hope for a cracking game. It seems like the only decent games between the top sides have been played at the Emirates this season.

With that said, I’m taking a chance on two little bets in the game. Keeping stakes at a minimum, though – just the one point outlay.

    Half Stakes:

    Liverpool v Man City

4+ Corners Each Team @ 4/5 (Sky Bet)

Sergio Aguero 2+ Shots On Target @ 1/1 (Sky Bet)

    Liverpool v City

We have the 2 best attacks in the league going head to head but we also have Liverpool with the best home defensive record against a City who have the best away defence. So I’m not so sure we will see the flood of goals many expect.
City have averaged 70% possession in away matches so far this season and whilst they may not reach that level today they will dominate the ball and Liverpool will need to be both patient and organised at the back.
That could suit the reds as they break so fast from defence but I’m sure Guardiola will have his team well prepared for that.
I’m also pretty sure both teams would probably settle for a draw now and that’s what I’ll back today

    Liverpool v City draw 13/5

    Correct score 1-1 13/2

    Hi gents.

French action today with a big six pointer seeing St Etienne at home to Toulouse. Only a point separating the two, both sides need the 3 points. Toulouse have seen both score in four of their last six away games, with St Etienne not having kept a clean sheet at home since august. Toulouse haven’t faired much better on the road and have conceded in six of their last seven. I like BTTS today, and over 2.5 is a very attractive price.

    St Etienne/Toulouse BTTS @ 19/20 @ Various – 2 points

Riskier option is Over 2.5 Total Goals @ 127/100 @ Marathon Bet

    Morning gents

Been on a a poor run but hoping to get back to winning ways today

    Bournemouth v Arsenal KO 1pm

I may have been influenced by the drift in price but still feel Arsenal are still worth backing at nearly even money. Every game feels like a must win game for The gunners and this is another one of them. I did say to Mr F I wouldn’t back a team to win again but I’m going to put my neck on the line and go for the away win

Had 4 out of 5 on my permed longshot posted yesterday (Derby, Charlton, Gillingham, Rotherham, Crawley) it paid 37/1 and was just one Rotherham goal away from the full house

Going for loose change longshot today:
    All to win and BTTS
Arsenal, Man City, Dortmund, Monchengladbach, Barcelona, Lyon, PSG
Permed 4,5,6, and all 7, the acca pays 2,234/1 (plus all the 4’s, 5’s, 6’s) with the minimum 4 fold paying just under 51/1, the way I split my stakes the 4 fold would see a positive return

Absolutely beggars belief how Arsene Wenger manages to hold onto his job.
His team are the most predictable in the EPL.
They’re one of the best teams at snatching defeat from the jaws of victory.
Their keeper and central defenders are experts at putting the ball out the park when they’re under no pressure.
From the minute the fell behind just about every player in an Arsenal shirt went into hiding.
The fact that on the 37th minute they got their 5th corner, and from then on in failed to get ONE more, shows how weak they are as an attacking force.

  63. wasclueless 6 years ago

Lol cheers guys, hard to take. Especially when I just double checked and it was 350-1 :( :( :(

    • aarron19888 6 years ago

Wow man, that is brutal, really brutal

    • bluemooner1894 6 years ago

Aguero hit the side netting too, there just at the end, really unlucky bud.

    • clydeman 6 years ago

I had to watch that shot too :( My Dog is still shaking from all the names I screamed at the telly!

    Both quarter stakes:
    PSG Win & BTTS 2/1
    Dost / Cavani ATGS 1.5/1
Nantes have managed to net in every home game this season (and in all but one game in all). PSG have conceded in 5/7 league games. Hoping Raneiri’s men can grab a goal tonight – but overall PSG should be too strong. Cavani has 4 in the last 2 against Nantes (no Neymar). Dost is banging them in for Sporting hoping both can net this evening.

Turned over plenty of stones looking for a best bet this evening and I’ve eventually settled on a game that sees me ignoring the fleshpots of the Costa Rican Premier in favour of dropping down into the CR 2nd flight for a touch of potential Sunday night value…

    CURRIDABAT VS. TURRIALBA  (2100 KO):

All about the home side here or, to be more accurate, how they perform at home – match goals are a cracker in this league but it’s team goals catching my eye here.

In 4 of their last 5 home games Curridabat have managed a brace and that is exactly what they have done in 5 of the last 6 H2H’s and in 100% of the last 4 home H2Hs!

    CURRIDABAT OVER 1.5 TGS…21/20 (Coral)
    ???

    Best of luck.

Just looking ahead in the EPL …. not sure why West Ham v Bournemouth is over evens for > 2.5 MGS and 7/5 for BTTS & Overs … given the H2H’s (incl a 3-3) on Boxing day and both teams games since then …. will take the BTTS & Overs now and will be on Arnautovic ATGS when they release this market …

    • aarron19888 6 years ago

Yeah same, he is looking really good just now, cenk might be worth watching for the next few games before backing again, couldn’t resist the 40/1 brace… was that price for a reason

    • alex_mufc83 6 years ago

Yes @wasclueless – without even looking at odds I’d say this game has 3+ goals in it. Both teams capable of conceding just as much as scoring and have shown this consistently

      I’ll be on these myself.

    • alex_mufc83 6 years ago

Not being funny but ‘Please’ always do your own research and only follow tips if YOU agree with them. Don’t just blindly follow people’s tips.

    • mossbrook365 6 years ago

I don’t blindly Alex . I was the one who did £10 to £24000 from Boxing Day to Jan 2nd 2015 in Jason Harts group !, just saying skip the French league there gash
