IT'S a bit of a mish-mash Saturday with English League One and Two, Scottish League One and League Two and Irn-Bru Cup ties to consider.

On top of that is the Denmark v Republic of Ireland World Cup play-off and I've posted a separate preview on that and the Scottish games as well as more brief English preview.

It's not an easy card and some teams in the Irn-Bru Cup, such as Raith who have a vital league game in midweek, could rest players.

Definitely a day for low stakes or to concentrate on goals and here are my top tips. I've added a Top Treble which is three teams not to lose – Colchester at Barnet and Stirling at Clyde with Scunthorpe backed on the draw no bet market at home to Bristol Rovers.

Today's Super Single is another double – Dumbarton draw no bet at home to Raith and Forest Green, who have won their last four, not to lose at Crawley.

Last night my Super Single ended up being a 3-8 winner on France -1AH with the Germany draw no bet part voided. Well done to all the winners.

Remember to check welovebetting for their tips and video chat.

I know you say the super single is a tag that you need to keep but it doesn’t really work when it’s constantly not a single. The super single when you didn’t count totals was always a single and that’s how it should be with a name like that

    • Mr Fixit 6 years ago

It’s my tip and it can be anything I want it it to be as I’ve said probably about 50 times.
Best Bet would be a better tag but Super Single is what’s searched for so it has to stay.
In the paper it’s almost always a single and on the site it’s still a single more than it’s not.

    • geo 6 years ago

The majority of people also come looking for football so why don’t you put a football headline on the racing thread to attract bigger numbers to it. It effectively be the same thing.

    • Mr Fixit 6 years ago

      Now you’ve lost the plot.

    • geo 6 years ago

I just don’t see how don’t see that it doesn’t work. There are totals for accumulators that don’t take into account all accumulators because there’s a need to add a label to a bet that doesn’t come under its category.

    • geo 6 years ago

I don’t see how you don’t see it doesn’t work.

    • Mr Fixit 6 years ago

I’m sorry it bothers you – the main thing is to try to put up winners and 12 of the last 14 have been winners. Goodnight all.

On Friday night, Mark Stone scored in regulation and again in overtime to give the Senators a 4-3 victory over the Colorado Avalanche in the first of two regular-season games in the Swedish capital.

I recommended over 5.5 which won and my 2nd bet is coming up in less than 30 min when Vegas take on hot Winnipeg Jets in another over favorite matchup.

Over is 9-5 for Vegas and 9-6 for Jets while Vegas are on 5 game winning streak at home start Jets are 4-1 in last 5 games with over paying out 4-2 in last 6 home games for Vegas despite going 2-4 in Jets last 6 on the road trust Vegas to contribute on both end of the ice to push totals over under guidance of Maxime Lagace and Connor Hellebuyck for Jets who as been victories in his four of last five (4-0-1) with a 1.98 GAA and .940 SV%. The young netminder has yet to lose in regulation in 10 start.

Last night saw a shock result when the Mariners beat top team Sydney, but luckily I played on corners & cards as well, to see 2/3 bets come in. Today I’m branching out slightly further from home for a foray into a couple of intriguing matches (for me anyway!) in the J2 League.

    Nagoya v JEF Utd Chiba:
This one is pretty straight forward. Nagoya have been flying in the league, currently sitting in 3rd place, in an playoff position and right behind Nagasaki for an automatic promotion spot. Their offense is the best in the league, with 83 goals scored in 40 games, however their defense is one of the worst with 62 goals conceded.

JEF have had a decent run of form and are just outside a playoff position. They have scored slightly more than they have conceded all season.

Both teams are in desperate need of points and must attack from the outset. Both teams have pretty poor defenses, with the vast majority of their games seeing 3 or more goals, so this one looks ripe for more of the same. I do expect Nagoya to edge it, but goals is the safer bet for me.

    V-Varen Nagasaki v Kamatamare Sanuki:
Nagasaki are sitting 2nd in the league, in an automatic promotion spot, but are a mere 2 points above Nagoya and Avispa. They will be desperate for the win here, and are in really good form heading into this one. They have a full squad at their disposal, and with the best home form in the league, anything other than a win for the hosts would be a huge surprise.

Kamatamare are looking horrid this year, sitting just above a relegation spot, and the injuries in the squad keeping mounting up. Key midfielder Lee Yon-Jick is off on international duty, so their squad is looking even thinner again.

    Tips:
    Nagoya v JEF – over 3 goals @ 1.80
    Nagoya – score before 40th min @ 1.83
    V-Varen Nagasaki -1 asian handicap @ 2.30
    V-Varen Nagasaki – over 1.5 team goals @ 1.90

    A-League tips coming shortly!

    • obi wan cannoli 6 years ago

No early goal for Nagoya. 3 goals in 2H though with 25 mins left. Cover available at sweet odds but I’m letting it run.

  5. obi wan cannoli 6 years ago

    And now onto the A-League…

    Adelaide United v Newcastle Jets:
The Reds enter this one in fairly ordinary form, after what was heralded pre-season in being a big year for them. At home in front of a somewhat partisan crowd, they’ve been a hard team to beat in the past, but this isn’t holding true this year. The loss of defenders Elrich and Regan is hurting them, and they have another bunch of players also out through injury now, so their squad is looking a little threadbare.

The Jets are the surprise package this season, winning a number of their games and sitting 3rd on the ladder. O’Donovan looks dangerous in every game and the form of the Jets makes them very tempting to get a result here.

    Melbourne Victory v Brisbane Roar:
Both sides enter this one in similar position, having drawn and lost all games so far. Victory have had the harder run in fairness, and will be hopeful of getting something here. Victory welcome back key man Berisha from suspension, but have lost his strike partner Austin to suspension, as well as Barbarouses, Theoharous, Troisi and Milligan to international duty.

Roar have been poor in most of their games, and have lost Ingham to international duty, and have a host of players out through injury.

I reckon this will be a tight and cagey game, with minimal goals, a few tempers flaring on a nice warm day here in Melbourne (it’s a lovely 27 degrees at my house right now.. get the beers out!). The corners line looks too high for my liking as well, so cards only for me on this one.

    Tips:
    Roy O’Donovan – atgs @ 2.40
    Newcastle Jets – score before 52nd min @ 1.83
    Newcastle Jets win & over 2.5 goals @ 4.33
    Newcastle Jets – over 4.5 team corners @ 1.72
    Melbourne Victory v Brisbane Roar – over 5 asian cards @ 1.90

Was watching this game as up early, jets were 11/1 then dropped to 17/2 on 40 minuets, so was waiting for half time to see jets price for the win and scored on the stroke of half time lol. So only got 12/5 in the end so hope they win for you. Got 11/10 on btts just before the first goal so I will be evens if jets don’t win, thanks for the info

NHL into 3rd period and Vegas lead Jets 5-2 for over payout that two winners out of 3 and my 4th bet is coming up in NBL round 6 when Melbourne host Kings and Winning at home has not been an issue for Melbourne United and they have won nine of their past 11 games as home favourites, while they are 9-2 against the line in this scenario.

Sydney have won three of their past ten games as away underdogs and their record against the line isn’t any better.

Morning All, One game I am going on today, not one for most but I can’t see many goals in a hard fought game.
    Bradford vs Plymouth Argle.

Bradford are a well established team in League one and with a very good fan base. They should again being pushing for promotion and are very strong at home, but they rarely score more than 3 goals and are a very tight team at the back.

Argle have steadily found there feet in League one and are unbeaten in 5 despite sitting bottom they are grinding out results and have tighten up a lot at the back. They do not possess a decent striker imo and this shows with their key player Carey being top scorer with 3 goals from Midfield.

They will do well to get a result after a long trip north.

    I predict a 1-0, 2-0 home win therefore U2,5 mgls @2.20 is a good value bet.

Stats show that 4/6 home and away games respectively have gone Under. That is good enough for me.

    BOXING:
    Saturday evening on Boxnation.

Liam Smith vs Liam Williams 2

Will be a close one but I expect Smith to come on strong in the latter part of the fight.
He knows what to expect this time and may have under estimated Williams last time out.
50/50 fight but i believe he has a little bit more in him and the championship rounds will be where he can shine and catch the judges eyes or get the late stoppage.

Smith WIN bet365 1/1 ‘levels you devils’

13/10 was available @williamhill but happy to go with Evens @365 and covers the money back draw.

    • ste_smith 6 years ago

To close for me to call that one. Wouldn’t argue much with your reasoning though.

      Couple I like from tonight:

      Josh Taylor v Miguel Vazquez:

Somewhat strange choice of opponent for Taylor IMO. Vazquez has horrible style to watch and is almost impossible to look good against. Perhaps they think he’s over the hill a bit but he’s been active enough with three fights already this year and although I certainly expect Taylor to have too much variety for him, I can’t see the stoppage.

Josh Taylor by Decision or Technical Decision 5/4 (Bet365)

      Jarrell Miller v Mariusz Wach

Interesting fight. Miller’s getting a bit of hype and this a decent step up. Wach is a serious lump with a rock solid chin, going the distance with Wlad and only been stopped on a cut in the 12th against Povetkin. Can see Miller getting the win but again not the stoppage

Miller by Decision or Technical Decision 5/6 (Coral)

    Morning gents

It may be a reduced card but still plenty of games that look good for goals

    Clyde v Stirling Albion

The bully wee are the U.K’s BTTS Kings with 17 of their last 18 matches seeing both sides net – they welcome a table topping Stirling Albion side who are having a terrific season under the leadership of ex St Johnstone Scottish cup winning captain Dave McKay. 12 of their last 13 games have seen over 2.5 goals. They don’t keep many clean sheets and will be facing one of the legaues top strikers in fallen star David Goodwilllie, he’s already found the net 7 times this season and it wouldnt be surprised to see him score today. This fixture has seen a glut of goals recently won the last 4 ending 3-2 2-3 3-2 2-2 – should see both sides getting in on the act

Could have doubles this up or gone for over 2.5 and BTTS but going for goals

    One match of interest

    Berwick v Edinburgh City

City have made a couple of decent signings this week, one of which is ex Hibs striker El Alagui, he’s far too good for this level. Hey are on a horrible run but they have had a tough set of fixtures and have been losing by the odd goal. They’ve only lost one of the last 5 meetings and are a big price to get a result here.

Will check team news but 4/5 Edinburgh are double Chance and 13/5 to win

    CLYDEvSTIRLING

Clyde goal before 46 mins 5/6.
Stirling goal before 42 mins 5/6.

    Summary:
A slightly different angle on game! In all away games Sirling haven’t failed to net in the first half of games! They’ve also conceded in 3 of their 5 away games in first half. Clyde have conceded in 4 of their 6 home games in first half, and scored in 4 of 6 home games in first half. Should see goals as many have predicted , and at least one first half goal, which will cover stake!

    ELGIN over 1.5 TGS 4/5.

    Summary:
Cowdenbeath’ s home record is dire, and leaking goals a common factor. ( tighter on their travels ) Elgin last 4 away days have seen them far from goal shy! Scoring 3,2,2,4!

Good luck all with bets today! ?

@hullshaker, followed NZ last night but what a bore! In the first half only 3 goals and 2 missed pens! Thus fell asleep! Thanks for the profit pal!?

    • roberts 6 years ago

I’ve had a bet when 3goals scored in last 5mins,it’s a 90min game not 45,this is why bookies probably did cash out cause some punters panic, got burnt once using it,never again I either cover if possible or just let it run it’s course,my betting money is lost as soon as I put a bet on so if it wins it’s a bonus fella

    • jim burnside 6 years ago

its also 2 bum teams fella stirling recently get knocked out scotish cup with amateur mob and clyde 1 pt from last 9.

I know where your coming from but cause it’s tipped doesn’t mean you have to follow it,I couldn’t find anything of interest so followed someone on here,if it loses I ain’t gona bitch about it and also no one tips wanting to lose money, football sometimes doesn’t go to plan, most thought England would lose but they drew with a lesser team, didn’t bet on it but fancied the Germans myself, never easy this betting lark fella

    • Mr Fixit 6 years ago

I don’t have the stats but I’d wager that one would let you down most weeks at short prices.
Thought results were OK today apart from Dundee United – my 2 main tips up and bet of the Day too.

    • alex_mufc83 6 years ago

The only team I feel confident about backing right now is Man City, and at some point that wheel is gonna fall off – probably if De Bruyne or Fernandinho or Aguero get injured

  66. sean567 6 years ago

Not decided wether to bet this or not yet but checking thru some stats for Denmark and Ireland and I noticed in every single away qualifier Ireland netted- and netted before today’s goal time of 79 mins on bet 365. The Danes also only managed 2 clean sheets at home in their 5 qualifying campaign to Poland (impressive) and Armenia (to be expected). Anyone interested the price is 6/4

  67. roberts 6 years ago

Majority of the time Jim one would let you down, anyway just keep plugging away fella,
    Aldosivi to score 2@6/4
    Smaller bet to score 3@5/1

    • roberts 6 years ago

Shows how unpredictable football is bookies weren’t expecting goals in this game but ended 2-2,away side hadn’t scored away in league but get 2,goes to show Jim burnside it’s a lottery&anyone can pick a winner fella?

  68. philwindy 6 years ago

Right then Denmark vs Ireland big game here at a sold out Telia Park stadium. Couldn’t a ticket unfortunately. Hope the Danish fans turn up today as there will be plenty of Irish noise I’m sure.

The Danes are looking very sharp under new management, with Eriksen having the licence to roam his quality deserves.

This will be a physical game which unlike many teams the Danes can easily match the Irish.

Where as quality goes the red and whites should dominate proceedings, but are prone to a lapse at the back now and again. Tonight though I see a 1-0 home win. Looking forward to this one on the the telly with a Carlsberg naturally ⚽️?

Would wish the Irish luck but they have plenty of that! Anyway Denmark is boring during the world cup if they are not involved. Bring on Russia!!!

    • Mr Fixit 6 years ago
