IT was a bit of a strange Saturday and many people would have been beaten early with Man City drawing and Celtic losing.
I tend to leave out the lunchtime matches because there's nothing worse than bets going down before the 3pm kick-offs.
Later results were OK but the shortest team on my moneyback fivefold (Ayr) beat me for a 10-1 winner so the stake is returned. I was consoled by the fact over 2.5 goals in the game got your vote in the £10 to £1000 challenge so that's me up to £330 after seven winners.
That's the best effort since completing the challenge late last year and hopefully I can go all the way – probably with three more odds-on bets.
My only success on the top tips was Bournemouth at just over evens for the Super Single. Didn't look on for long stages but the Cherries got the job done in the end.
Well done to all of Saturday's winners including Jordan with his overs double, Desmond with his btts double and Scott Allot with a European both to score that landed with the late games at Heracles.
Craig Alves was the star man with a cracking win and both to score fourfold that paid for 20 cans and much more. If you're looking for him on Sunday he'll be lying down in a dark room.
On Sunday the big game is Liverpool v Spurs and most people will be on goals with four out of six at Anfield seeing both scoring while Spurs won 4-1 at Anfield earlier in the season. The other Premier League game sees Crystal Palace take on Newcastle and while I fancy the home I'm not sure they'll feature on the top tips.
On the Continent there are plenty of big games including Monaco v Lyon and Atletico Madrid v Valencia.
I've picked out a btts treble starting with Liverpool v Spurs. Add Udinese v Milan which has come up in five of the last six meetings and complete with the match at Monaco. Four of the last five in the Principality have seen both score and this season Lyon have won 3-2 home and away.
Trying another moneyback fivefold and this time I'm on five favourites – Barcelona at Espanyol, Atletico Madrid at home to Valencia, Feyenoord at Venlo, Juventus at Sassuolo and Atalanta at home to Chievo. All five should win but if one lets us down it's likely to be Atletico or Feyenoord.
Roma at Verona was a possibility and at a much smaller price Napoli at Benevento.
Not easy finding a Super Single today but decided to chance Caen draw no bet at Nantes and Eintracht Frankfurt not to lose at Augsburg.
Caen's only win in six was at Bordeaux and they've lost their last four at home to Nantes, scoring just once. Nantes have netted 2+ in their last three visits and while I can see them edging this I want to keep the draw on side.
Augsburg have picked up just one win ins six but are unbeaten in five at home. Eintracht are in better shape and have lost just once on the road as they fight for a Champions League spot.
They have just beaten Wolfsburg and Borussia M'Gladbach and haven't lost on three trips to Augsburg. Could win but I'm going with them not to lose.

This match sees the debut of Chris Ikonomides, who has played in the Italian Serie B and Danish Superliga. Whilst only young, he has played in far superior leagues, so big things are expected of him here. Baccus is suspended and will miss this game.
Likeliest result for this one is a draw, but Ikonomides does present something of a wildcard, and I’ll have a small stakes bet on him netting on debut.
Brisbane Roar v Melbourne City:
This game should be interesting, as Roar have found a bit of form, winning their last two games, whilst City have been in decent form themselves, but have lost the services of Ross McCormack who scored the majority of their goals.
Roar see Khalfallah return from suspension, but have lost key defender DeVere to injury, who joins a growing list of missing players, most of whom play in defensive positions. City see Schenkeveld back from suspension, but McCormack has returned to the UK in what is a huge blow for the side.
I can see Roar winning this, but am not entirely convinced on that result, as City have it in them to get a result here. Goals seems the obvious choice in this one, and in form Holman is at sweet odds for a low stake punt.
