PHIL TAYLOR will be powerless to prevent play-off failure if he doesn't beat Gary Anderson in Thursday night's Premier League darts in Newcastle.
Taylor will miss out on the play-offs for the first time if he can't bag the points against Anderson in a repeat of the 2015 World Championships Final.
The Power is 11-8 at BetVictor for the win he needs while Anderson is 8-5 at Coral and the draw 18-5 at Boylesports.
Anderson, Taylor, Raymond van Barneveld and Adrian Lewis are vying for the two remaining spots at the finals with Michael van Gerwen and Dave Chisnall already through.

Starting to sound like a broken record with this tip but here we go again!!!
Those of you who have been following me on the NHL ice hockey will know that I’ve had three reasonably good priced bets on the Blackhawks Vs Wild games (5/4, 17/10 @ 7/4) which all won. Each of these bets have been generously overpriced by Betway. Today was the day I thought they had caught on to their over-site when game 4 of the series was pulled from their betting lines, but nope they’ve gone and done it again and put up another juicy looking price.
The Blackhawks currently lead the series 3-0 and although they had some luck in the 3rd of these, they just about managed to get over the line with a hard fought 1-0 win. Admittedly Wild are getting closer to the result they desperately need against the Hawks but I just can’t see the thinking with these prices by Betway. I’m feeling a little more cautious than the last three games but still think the Blackhawks will be desperate to put this series to bed earl with one more victory and I’ll be on them (smaller stakes) to repeat the feat once more.
