IT’S all about Churchill for Johnb today with the 11-8 favourite going for glory in the 2000 Guineas.

Our man backed it ante-post at 20-1 and double stake at 11-8 for today’s big race and has napped it agains. He says: “You won’t recognise him – he’s bigger, stronger, muscle where muscle is meant to be and more. He has the perfect shape, he strolls about like he owns the place and is supposed to be a lot quicker.

“In the past for 3yo’s in Classics I have backed Golden Horn, Sea The Stars, Camelot, Zafonic, Rodrigo De Triano, Pennekamp and many more but Churchill excites me. If he wins the Derby it will shock breeders worldwide because he is bred for speed but I can see him winning both the Guineas and Derby, I may be wrong but I don’t have A worry about Saturday.”

Johnb’s Saturday Tips

2000 Guineas
Newmarket 3.35

Churchill 11-8 NAP bet365

Newmarket 1.40
Grapevine 10-1 bet365

5.20
Eagle Creek 4-1 NB bet365

Also 3×0.5pt doubles & 1×0.5pt treble

Also a single on Grapevine to be placed at 9-4 bet365

Total 6pts staked

Grapevine
You can’t be anything but impressed with this horse last time out. Although only coming second he was caught right on the line by the favourite. Grapevine had a terrible passage at Newbury, bumped in among horses and even run up the back of another horse and fought Andrea Atzeni for most of the race. He only really settled when entering the home straight then cruised to lead just over a furlong out. Atzeni then pushed him to lead by a couple of lengths at the half furlong pole. Grapevine didn’t really stop in front but maybe just needed the run for that little bit extra fitness but I did like that run.

Eagle Creek
I tipped this horse up last time out and he was impressive, I am just surprised he is available at 4-1 for this race, he is well thought of by connections and even has an entry for the St James Palace Stakes at Royal Ascot. A certain Churchill is favourite for that race and other entries include Barney Roy, Al Wukair and Eminent to name but a few, so you can see what connections think of him. When I tipped him last time I said the Simon Crisford horses come on for a run so it was good to see him win by six lengths on this season’s debut and with more improvement he should be able to win this even against a short-priced favourite.

Morning Guys, I am your main man Max and I have been given two strong tips for the big race that I am just passing on. You don’t have to take them, but I thought I would share with you all, and the visitors who visit this thread.

My Two fancies in the big one at Newmarket are,

    Barney Roy 7/2 E/W
    Eminent 15/2 E/W

Churchill has solid form on the Dewhurst, but my snout reckons he could get taken in this and is very high on the two above. Barney Roy is the big hope for Godolphin and my snout reckons he will grind down the favourite, but as also spoken to a connection who thinks Eminent will run a place if not cause a major SHOCK today by winning the race. At the odds I going E/W and a win and a forecast, I am no racing expert but I thought I would pass on the tips for you all. Enjoy the race!.

Just had another go on Churchill down hills and made the misses
Too 👍 I think it will go off under evens today once everyone sees

    I thought I was
Being clever by getting on grapevine 1.50 but the master beat me Too it 👍 Today’s Yankee

    Muthmir 2.20
    Galapait 2.55

Cannot resist a small ew on larchmont lad in the 2000 as he owes me from last time 👍

Good luck all and enjoy these magnificent beasts whoever wins think it’s a above average year

The good thing about Newmarket is that it’s small, the bars are pretty close together and you get to meet the stable staff, a member of the Ballydoyle team has said and the exact words were, “Churchill, he’s unbeatable and he will also win the Derby”
That’s a powerful statement but they are saying they know the other horses in the race but other connections only know the Churchill from last year and they don’t realise just how much better he is this year, they also fancy Lancaster Bomber to run well

Sadly cannot attribute much time today so straightforward selections, hopefully tonight, let’s have some big winners today boys. Don’t fancy him to win on turf debut but owes me nothing having won twice at 16s and 20s, Oberyn for fun @ 20s, 500qw.

Classic tactics for that race, as itv showed, Lancaster leads the way, Seamie is on rail, slows down to allow churchill in, then Lancaster drifts wider and wider on outside to ensure they have a mountain to climb to pip churchy.

You do have to take the risk that a horse will get through the winter and stay fit when backing antepost, some people just don’t think it’s worth the risk, I have had horses that don’t make it to the race and you just have to look at the runners missing at Cheltenham but in the long run it can be very profitable

    May – 2.91

    Tomorrows selection

    Hamilton 14:05

Dream of dreams 13/8 4 pt win NAP

    Dream of dreams has everything pointing towards a first 5f win;
He surrendered a massive lead to Sutter County last time the two met, and failed to reel him in when making up alot of ground in the final furlong. Trainer then stepped him up to 6f, where surrendering an early lead again he was 1.5 lengths behind peace envoy. He improved further in a class 1, front running over 6f and being edged out near the end by sir Lancelot.

Ground depends upon draw bias at Hamilton over the 5f for those that are interested in it. (softer low draws, good+ even with slight bias to bigger draws. Were drawn 6 of 6

He comes in at 9-2 sutter county 9-6
Equimou is also a danger keeping good company, consistently over 5f, but has never won on turf, and could be a back up bet at 3-1 for those who would like to play the percentage

    Thunder snow 16/1 , 0.5pts e/w

Tipped this horse up when it won at Meydan beating Lancaster bomber by 2+ lengths, looked in the race that further would do him good as he continued to close even near the line 1m 2f here. Trainer and owner decided to send him hear instead of competing in the 2000 Guineas. Godolphin not great strike rate in this race but may play for a place at 16-1

Really wanted to post the Cumani horse , Vuela ,but he will persist in putting Spencer on them and at 5/4 1 he is a fkn liability GL.

Some of us can rubbish Johnb’s day to day tips, but you can’t fault the ante post one s I would like to see his tips at level stakes singles (no multiples doubles , trebles etc) if anyone has them , sometimes you will wish you had done the double trbl but it doesn’t work , singles and a good staking plan GL

He said he has plans to free some time up, perhaps his daily tips will improve with this. We all know the knowledge is there, perhaps it is just application. I feel for the man, relentlessly having to produce a daily tip, to do this whilst researching sufficient is a huge task, and it is only human that sometimes picks will rash and not thoroughly thought out, just look at harry, he avoids betting some days, if John ha this luxury he would have better figures.

Just let him enjoy his day.
Also there is no pressure from us on Johnb to tip every day.
However, most racing tipsters do so.
Also he’ll confirm none of his picks are rash – they are always researched and picked for a reason.

I thought it was a positive comment, educating those who are worried about the current deficit, and the multiple bets that are “losing” points.. they may contribute towards the loss in the short term, but the reward is worth it in the long run, only needs to hit 1/2 per year so being at at loss currently is irrelevant.

This society is used to getting things instantly, food, entertainment, we have it all at our finger tips. Just be patient yall, he just handed you a 20/1 a year in advance, gotta break eggs to make advance omelette.

No it wasn’t positive (especially the part I deleted) and neither is this one.
Every year he’s given big-priced anteposts and most people appreciate them.
