IT'S the weekend card most of us hate – with three sets of Euro 2016 qualifiers and no top-flight matches.
There's virtually a full card in the lower leagues in England and Scotland and I've had a good look at them.
From my initial study of the weekend coupon here is my Super Single shortlist – and this is taken from looking at stats and team news.
East Stirling are my No.1 choice at the moment at a massive 12-5 with McBookie and BetVictor at home to Arbroath and hopefully nothing will put me off them when I see the team news on Friday.
Let me know if anything puts you off any of these sides and feel free to add selections of your own. All of these selections are priced evens or above.
Super Single shortlist
CHESTERFIELD v Walsall
CRAWLEY v Gillingham
PETERBOROUGH v Coventry
Dagenham v WYCOMBE
HARTLEPOOL v Cambridge
EXETER v Morecambe
Dumbarton v FALKIRK
Dunfermline v MORTON
Peterhead v STRANRAER
EAST STIRLING v Arbroath
as I already highlighted on todays top tips thread Braintree 12-5 at a desperately out of form and financially troubled Kidderminster
also southport 11-8 at home to an on the beach torquay
Sunday game but Poland to score 2+ at Ireland 9/4 seems far too big after all they scored 2+ in last 6 games, fair enough 1 game was Gibraltar and another Lithuania but scored 2 v Germany, Switzerland and Scotland plus 4 in Georgia tae.
Poland DNB at evens too, only beat by Scotland in last 11 games in a friendly
Robbo. Couldn’t agree more with ur fancies of Braintree and Southport. Torquay have baffled me in the last couple of months. Before then they were banker material but for some unexplainable reason they have seemingly packed their bags, whilst Southport have found momentum. Kiddiminster have been another let down for me this season but ur explanation as to why clears that up. Their task
against Braintree won’t be easy this weekend. Hartlepool have scraped a good little run together lately but I feel Ca’bridge
will want to ensure LG 2
survival with a win.
CAMBRIDGE win
Hartlepool & Peterborough look good in the English leagues.
My gut feeling would be Dagenham surprising Wycombe but not sure whether I’d back it. Just think Wycombe superb away form will come to an end soon & what better time than at a ground where they have failed to win at the past two seasons & a team they failed to beat at home earlier this season.
Dagenham have also been in good form, winning 4 of their last 5 including a decent 2-0 win v Plymouth in their last home match. They are 9 points below the play offs so just an outside chance but still with something to play for.
Like I say mainly gut feeling but will come a time soon when team start feeling the pressure.
I actually find it easier when there is less matches because I can study the teams in more depth. If you want around 1.6/1 then Sheff Utd & Rochdale look good for it – The dales will want to get back to winning ways after the midweek blip. Sheff Utd on good form against god awful Crewe – Easy money.
Alternatively – I quite fancy Peterborough @ 11/10 at Peterborough for those who like to put a small stake on a bigger acca try:
Sheff Utd
Rochdale
Bristol City
Peterborough
Czech
Bosnia
Belgium
England
Swiss
Spain
Sweden
Slovakia
Austria
Romania
Germany
Odds a little short but ok if you stick a tenner on 16.56/1 – You could always add more but I’ve gone for what I consider bankers
Good luck
Albion Rovers for me.To outstanding away wins to the sides closest to them and shud win at home.
Kay far too many teams..1will draw for sure. Chesterfield for me.
All about tranmere 6/4 at home must win all lads up 4 it
Kazakhstan v Iceland – Iceland @19/20
I’m normally not a fan of backing aways but this looks a steal – Iceland have started the group strongly and you’d expect them to comfortably beat the group’s whipping boys.
TIP OF THE WEEKEND IS………..
SHREWSBURY
Nick-Shrewsbury have not yet picked up a single point at Portsmouth in there intire 125+ year history!!
E.Stirling for me too. Btts / win .
Airdrie at 4/6. Isa good price. But why are Queen’s Park 21/10? They have been flying recently
also. What’s the catch with Braintree? Why is a team that are playing well against a team struggling 11/5?
Rochdale undoubtedly a very good bet
