MY second tennis winner in a row means I've wiped out early June losses on the accumulators.
Now to tackle the Super Singles – although that will have to wait until Friday or Saturday and some competitive football.
Simona Halep and Stan Wawrinka landed my evens double and on Thursday I'm backing Halep again to beat Karolina Pliskova in the first women's semi-final.
The other tie sees Timea Bacsinzky against Latvian teenager Jelena Ostapenko and I'm taking the two favourites in a double.
Football wise it's mainly about friendlies as well as the Under-20 World Cup semi-finals with England facing Italy and Uruguay earlier up against Venezuela.
I'll have a dig about in the morning before deciding whether to put up any further tips.
And due to interest there is a separate post for any tips and thoughts on the General Election.
And if you're having your first bet with 888sport you'll get treble the odds.

Peru v Paraguay [Peru is excellent at home, not only by results but their gaming conditions!.The lack of oxygen due to altitude is causing a difficulties to visitors. We were able to see Messi and some of his teammates with an oxygen mask last year for a match under the same conditions. Peru won v Uruguay last week (3-1), at home as well. Beside, Paraguay has been very weak for years, had a big defeat against the French team (5-0) last week.
Peru to win
Costa Rica v Panama [Costa Rica must win this , excellent records at home since the begining of the world cup qualifying competition, Panama seem as weak as Haiti and Jamaica atm]

Only 3 days ago Czech Republic U21 beat Azerbaijan U21 5-0, and Czech have been in free-scoring form recently scoring at least 2 goals in their previous 6 outings. Also winning 4 of their last 5 games, against a team struggling to notch a win.

Looking ahead at the sporting calendar for the next few months, apart from Wimbledon – tennis ( of which I know less about than the contents on the inside of a ping pong ball ), that pretty much leaves the small matter of the Tour De France. Thankfully, cycling is a sport I have followed since I was a teenager.
For those that missed out on last years TDF, Chris Froome had an EPIC race; having been spat on and had p*ss thrown in his face, crashing into a camera motorbike that was held up by encroaching spectators – then sprinting up the hill after 5 hrs in the saddle, then the double Tour winner timed his cresting of one of the summits, broke on Nairo Quintada, got out of eyesight then changed his descent posture on his bike to sit on his crossbar and STILL carried on peddling. That tweak to his aerodynamics must of been worth 5mph. He took the stage in emphatic style and duly won his 3rd title.
People outside the sport will go ” yeah but ” – Bradley Wiggins was the first British winner. – Froome was his Super Domestique and following team orders spent most of the race leaving Wiggins in his wake, only to be told ” slow down and wait for Wiggins ). That same race he also crashed over a barrier that would of ended most peoples Tour. If he’d of ridden to his ability, the history books would now be saying ” Bradley Who? “.
This past 4 years ( he’s won 3 from 4 and going for his 3rd Tour win on the bounce ). Only Miguel Indurain has retained his title, until Froome matched it last year. Could it be that Froome will be chomping at the bit for a 3rd consecutive win and 4 wins in 5? Too right. the bookies have his at Evens with bet365 and having sat out the Giro D’Italia ( Of which his biggest podium threat – Nairo Quintada took part ), Froome has had the best part of 5-6 weeks of stress free training without incident – If you ignore the impatient French moron driver that followed him onto the pavement last month and nearly killed him.
His power to weight ratio ( yes it’s measured in Watts and Kg’s ) has been constantly improving and he’s been completely transparent with all his physiological tests and readings to prove all the doubters that he’s riding a clean race. He’s energetic and consistent across all the important areas needed to win the tour, and he’s particularly strong in the individual sprints, the mountains stages and the descents – ironically the most important parts of the Tour.
Quintado isn’t as fresh, some of the other old hands are nowhere near Team Sky’s level and I do think it will be another victory for Froome.
This SHOULD give him a 4th title and barring another absolute travesty, SHOULD see him finally on the shortlist for BBC sports personality of the year. Nope, he’s never been nominated. – But then again, we’ve had 2x Royals win it, so what kind of Mickey Mouse award is it anyway??? He’s 40/1 to win the BBC award. IF he grabs the Tour victory this year, he will join the ranks of one of the sports greatest road racer ever. Care to ignore that achievement Mr BBC? Surely worth a punt even on an Each-way for 8/1, you’d probably get better odds if you shop around.
Lastly and I have to mention this, In Tour cycling, there seems to be a new kid on the block, he made his name really in last years Tour. – Adam Yates. Yates is 125/1 to win the tour. Personally, he has as much hope of winning it as Lance Armstrong winning this years Wimbledon. BUT….. In his rookie season last year, he came 4th in the overall classification. And he’s young, and a Brit. Again, 1/5th the odds for a podium finish and an each way bet o him has to be worth a quid of anyone’s money.
Good luck guys, thanks for the sites input on the French open this year, I’ve raised my bank gradually to hopefully give me something worthwhile to lump on the England victory away to Scotland. I know we’re crap in the actual competitions, but we rarely get beaten in qualifiers. Last price I saw for the England victory on bet365 was 7/10.
Evening Nathan – good to see you sir and hope all is well!
I’ve absolutely no interest in cycling but found that a great write-up…good luck pal.
As Hull says good write-up and look forward to reading your thoughts during the race.
There are a couple of good cycling tipsters on here now.

Bit early to be classed as a Night Owl but hey ho…
LANÚS VS. SPORTIVO BARRACAS (21.00 KO):
These two sit 2 divisions apart but come together in this Copa Argentinian game with Lanus by far the better side with 5 wins on the bounce.
But, it’s worth factoring in two things here: firstly, it’s highly unlikely Lanus will roll out a full strength side (Argentinian Cup games commonly differ from domestic league games/form) and, secondly, Barracas are in some fine form themselves.
The visitors sit in 3rd spot and are well in contention at the top of the table – they have scored 11 team goals in tge ladt 5 games and have won 80% of tgeir last 10 games.
Bit of a gamble and stakes best kept low but I’ll have a cheeky go on the following:
BTTS…7/4
??
BTTS 1ST HALF…6/1
?
Best of luck!

Heading over to Brasil for the Night Owl and a game where home turf -as is often the case in the Brasilian top-flight – could well prove the winning factor…
SÃO PAULO VS. VITÓRIA (23.30 KO):
There is a slight caveat that on the surface, Vitoria look dire thus far, but take into account the 3 most recent losses were against 3 of the biggest-hitters in Brasil!
Still, that’s not enough to put me off the price of Sao Paulo and team goals – in each of the last 8 H2H’s on home soil, SP have scored a minimum of 2 goals.
Couple that with the fact that in both home games so far this campaign they have won 2-0 and my confidence is reinforced that bit further.
Two selections to consider:
SAO PAULO OVER 1.5 TGS…8/13
????
SAO PAULO OVER 2.5 TGS…7/4
