TopTips_10Bet

I HAD a plan to wipe out the Super Single losses in three days but it was beaten all ends up by Bodo/Glimt.

All I needed to complete a 9pts 4-5 treble was Valerenga not to lose at home to BG and everything was going to plan when they took the lead.

With about half an hour to go and Valerenga seemingly dominant bet365 made me an offer I couldn't refuse so I covered Bodo/Glimt to win at 40-1.

I seriously considered putting 1pt on at 40s but settled for advising cover 0.2pts – and couldn't believe what happened next. BG levelled with nine to go then fired in a 93rd-minute winner.

Sometimes you have to laugh or you'd cry but that kind of sums up June for me. It was just a 1pt loss on the day but was so nearly an 8pt profit and quote close to being a 32pt win – although I'd have felt a little guilty if I'd that had happened.

Again my Top Treble hit the bar with Tromso and RoPS winning but my over 3.5 goals stats-based shout on Valerenga finished one short.

I can't see me wiping out the 26.5pt losses in two days but it would be nice to maybe half it. On Monday there a couple of games in Norway, Sweden, Finland and Iceland but not much else so I may look at some tennis bets.

Finnish leaders HJK go to Inter Turku and while they are in decent form they've won just once in seven visits there. Four of the last six have seen both score so that could be a shout at 10-11 with Coral.

Swedish Superettan top dogs Jonkopings are 4-6 with BetVictor to beat Degerfors but it might be better looking at goals with 11 of the last 12 meetings between the sides going over 2.5. That pays 4-6 at Ladbrokes.

All five matches in the Norwegian second tier saw both scoring on Sunday and there could be plenty of goals when Baerum meet Brann. There are no h2hs to talk about but eight of Brann's last nine and four of Baerum's last six have gone over 2.5 goals. This returns 4-7 at Paddy Power.

In Iceland Celtic's Champion League opponents Stjarnan face a Keflavik side they've lost once to in seven outings. Stjarnan have made a stuttering start to their title defence with three wins, three defeats and three draws but should beat the men propping up the table. They are 10-11 at bet365.

For a 1pt Top Treble I'm both to score at Inter Turku, over 2.5 goals at Jonkoping and Stjarnan to win.

My Super Single (just a tag remember) is a treble on today's Wimbledon matches. With most favourites so short in the early rounds it's tough finding value unless you go with set betting.

But I've dug out a treble that pays 13-10 with Paddy Power and should hopefully land.

I can't see past Chile in their Copa America semi-final against Peru and will put up some tips for that later and maybe add a Super single considering it doesn't kick off until the early hours of Tuesday morning. Chile are a best 7-8 at bet365 minus one and it looks decent value.

7pts Super Single

Tomic to bt Struff (1.30pm)
Benic to bt Pironkova (1.30pm)
Nishikori to bt Bolelli (2.30pm)
(13-10, Paddy Power)
WIN

1pt Top Treble

Inter Turku v HJK btts (4.30pm)
Jonkoping v Degerfors over 2.5 goals (6.20pm)
Stjarnan (8.15pm)

Jordan happy birthday mate . Still haven’t got an email from you mate so don’t want you to think I am ignoring you have admin given you the correct email ?

  3. Jack 9 years ago

Not that I’m in any place to suggest a SS but my main bet tomorrow is Nishikori, Safarova (who Ad has tipped to do well) and Argentina @ 6/4

  4. Jordan 9 years ago

Cheers Danny. I completely forgot to be honest mate but I do have it. It was just for general purpose. Wasn’t around when you posted you hit the big 3.0 so a happy belated birthday to yourself mate.

  5. Harry 9 years ago

Happy birthday Jordan, and Danny for the other day too!

Re posting this from the other thread and will post again in a few weeks time

I know it’s a long while until the PL kicks off again but it seems all the markets are more or less available and as Raal will tell you, the early bird gets the worm. I’m posting my main bet now because I can only see the prices worsening once everyone has started looking through the games and will no doubt be backing these teams heavily as usual. The bet is a double of Arsenal to score 2+ and Chelsea to win. These two teams will only strengthen over the next 5/6 weeks, and if some of the transfer rumours come true then I’d expect the prices to plummet on their opening games.

Arsenal have a much better record against west ham than I’d even realised. They’ve won the last 10 h2h and have scored 3+ in 6 of the last 7 against the hammers. Chelsea home and away v Swansea last season scored 4 and 5 goals respectively and looked like they executed the perfect plan to counter the Swans’ style. It’s hard to take form into account as most teams will have new signings and a different starting line up to what they ended the season with. However, both arsenal and Chelsea were very strong at home last season and the stats back this up. I’ve taken Chelsea to win, because although they’re capable of hitting a big score on their day, who would be surprised to see Mourinho close out a 1-0 scrappy win if Swansea looked a threat. Likewise I’ve taken arsenal to score 2+ rather than to win because again, who would be surprised to see arsenal blow a 2-0 lead!

    Arsenal over 1.5tgs
    Chelsea win

    Double 23/25 William Hill

    Smaller stake on

    Arsenal over 2.5tgs
    Chelsea HT/FT

    Double 18/5 Coral

    • Jack 9 years ago

Harry, Mourinho has managed (if my maths is right) 98 home league matches for Chelsea and we have lost only 1. We also have the best opening day record in the league.

  6. Harry 9 years ago

    Total goals (overs)

    Jonkoping/Degerfors 1.5
    Inter Turku/HJK 0.5
    Salaspils/Adazi 2.5
    Upesciems/Caramba Riga 2.5

    4fold 9/10 bet365

  7. Jordan 9 years ago

Thanks Harry. Do like the look of that but that’s even too far ahead for me at the moment :) Throw United to do the Spuds in there too ;) Schneiderlin on his way to us supposedly. Now that I will be happy with.

  8. Harry 9 years ago

Hence I’m backing (begrudgingly) you to win jack. Chelsea HT/FT is also a good bet at 9/10 in my opinion for a single as last last season you scored tons of goals in the opening minutes, and then usually killed off the game

    • Jack 9 years ago

Listen here pal I’m going to find it hard to back you next season too. But with Cech, a defensive mid and a striker I think you’ll get top two. Mourinho will go defensive if its 1-0 at H/T. see the 2-0 at Hull two seasons ago on the opening day. There’s a reason he’s only lost 3 games from winning positions in his managerial career.

  9. Jordan 9 years ago

I’m waiting for Boylesports to get the prices up for the Norwegian games on the weekend but I think this price will shorten considerably over the week.

    Djurgarden Over 1.5 Team Goals @ 8/11 @ Boylesports

Hopefully those prices are up tomorrow as I think Stabaek scoring at Start will make a nice double for Saturday.

  10. Harry 9 years ago

Not touching united spuds after the 0-0 last season. It killed my £10 rolling challenge bet at the time which was at £150+ and I’m still sour as they’re 2 teams I hate haha. Schneiderlin will be a good buy, I won’t mind if we get vidal though. Would love to see him and Coquelin running out midfield and giving Ramsey some competition in the b2b role. Also his versatility is ideal for our injury prone squad, played DM at Bayer and just as well when further forward at Juve. Probably just another rumour though! My bet is a long way off, just think prices will drop and it didn’t take much to research, the stats are very convincing for it

    • Jack 9 years ago

Not about research now though, its the early bird time! Schneiderlin/Wanyama/Vidal at Arsenal and then Higuain or Cavani and Im seriously worried.

  11. Harry 9 years ago

Jack I agree, cech is a brilliant bit of business, would love if we got vidal to play along side Coquelin. Bare in mind we didn’t have wilshere and Walcott for large chunks of last season and they’re both in good form now, as long as we start well unlike last year then we’ve got a good chance of challenging. I’m going to try to exploit the ht/ft market with Chelsea this coming season as in most of the games I remember watching you, you’d get an early goal or 2 and kill the game off with possession, then end up with 3 DM’s on after an hour and that was that

    • Jack 9 years ago

If Arsenal signed Vidal I couldn’t see them finishing outside the top 2 unfortunately. Pretty much it he would always bring on Mikel/Ramires to play with Matic and there’s much more value in that especially at home. You have to remember these victories we scrapped in the back half of the season were tactical. We didn’t have to win, but we couldn’t afford to lose. Go 1-0 up and defend, a draw isn’t the end of the world. I expect a decent start!

Is it just me that loves the price on Everton at home to Watford? I still rate them for a top 8 finish.

  20. robbo 9 years ago

Looking ahead to the Europa League qualifiers this week there are a couple of games that interest me.
    Newtown v valleta
valleta are a best 9-5 which seems a very good price considering they are regulars in the early european qualifiers
as far as I can see Newtowns last European adventure was in 1996 when they were easily despatched by skonta riga
Obviously TNS are the strongest Welsh league side by a mile and Newtown normally just make up the numbers
any Welsh people got any thoughts on the game? Will keep an eye on valletas price as I think it will fall

second game is sheriff v odd
odd are having a decent season in Norway and seem a generous 4-1 away to the moldovans, I seem to remember though that sheriff played spurs in the Europa League recently so can’t be that bad

  21. robbo 9 years ago

In the champions league qualifiers i think somebody has already mentioned TNS away at a faroes side
11-10 for a TNS win looks appealing considering they are the best Welsh side by a mile although i know nothing about the state of faroes football

  37. mahalo 9 years ago

Hey guys… slim pickings today. But I’ll be on the few norwegian and swedish games. if the swedish u21 games and noregian D2 markets become available, they should make for some great goal markets. In the meantime, here’s what I’m on:

    Helsinki/Inter -BTTS
    Norrby/Huskvarna – Huskvarna o1.5mg
Baerum/Brann – Baerum o1.5mg (I think Baerum can do this). BTTS would have been ideal, but the value’s too low at 1.45. You could follow inplay for more value.
    Jonkopings/degerfors- BTTS and o2.5mg
TPV Tampere/IF Gnistan -BTTS (value currently too small, but should increase inplay)
Fredrickstad/Jerv BTTS ((Follow inplay for more value)

Odds are between 1.70 and 2.3 for each game. Good luck if you’re on.

  38. Alves 9 years ago

Global were 1/33 before KO and sure Pachanga were 66/1, crazy odds and I’m needing 4 2nd half gls now :(

  39. belfastmark 9 years ago

Tempest, nothing needs fixed. As I said yesterday the situation is out of our hands. Admin I know are monitoring things.

  42. Geoff 9 years ago

There’s not much that appeals to me today so started looking at tomorrow. I know it’s early but I’m expecting the price to shorten.

The Estonian champions Levadia kick off their Champions League campaign tomorrow night away at Crusaders (Northern Ireland). A few pointers:

    • The Estonian season is 16 games in with Levadia top on 35 points. In their last 5 games they have scored 20 goals and conceded 3. They will be fit and ready for this game.
    • The Northern Ireland season has not yet started. Crusaders have had one friendly and only been training again for a week.
    • Crusaders are missing some players and their Manager will still be on holiday. They are only part-time as well.

It is two legged and you never know with these early qualifiers but Levadia are currently around 15/13 and I think that is well worth a cheeky punt. Could play it slightly safer by going over 1.5 Levadia goals at around evens but if they score twice they win I think.

Thought Bencic might have a shakey start with not much prep time after Eastbourne but Tomic was the surprise dropping sets 2 and 3. Looks like he’s got control of the last set though if he holds serve and Nisihkori should be strong enough against Bolelli.

  56. Geoff 9 years ago

You can now easily cover the tennis bet.

    Bolelli available at around 10/1.

    Thanks MrF!

After seeing Sandefjord score in the first half yesterday, I was sure that 72% Mjondalen possession would convert into a first half goal. But it didnt.
Should’ve stuck to my Sandefjord to score in the first half at 13/10 as that was tantalising enough.

Onto tonight and theres another scrumptious value to be had between the Baerum vs Brann game at 6pm in the Norway OBOS ligaen.

SK Brann have the better chance of winning this (6/5), probably because they’ve been relegated from the big boy league, but they occupy mid table and hardly promotion contenders at the moment. They’ve seen over 1.5 FHG in 3 of their last 5 league aways, which indicates theres goals to be had with them. They’re tipped to score in the first half and although BTTS in the first half is against the stats, over 1.5 match FHG does look meaty at 5/4 with these opponents.

The home team are in ok home form, sitting joint with the visitors with +2 goal difference. It should be a tight game and again, in their last 5 homes, 3 had over 1.5 match FHG. So over 1.5 first goals is it? Nah not this time, digging deeper, I’ll give myself some more time.

Baerum have seen over 3.5 match goals in 4 of their last 5 home games. Its unsurprising they sit second in the home table for goal fests, coupled with Brann seeing 3 out of their last 5 aways going the same way, this is looking like scintillating value.

Word on the street is it’ll be a tight game but with goals at either end. Team sheet says both club’s current top scorers Riki Alba and Erik Huseklepp are both named, so I anticipate they’ll get the ball rolling.

Throw in these two teams have edged more goals in the second half, this looks very promising.

Baerum vs SK Brann – Over 3.5 match goals 5/4 @Co.ral

Just the one for me and that’s the Icelandic game at 9.00 already mentioned by Mr F as part of the Top Treble.

    KEFLAVIK V STJARNAN:

Home side are LLWLL with that win against IBV who lie second bottom. Each of their last 5 games have seen over 4 goals bar 1.

Stjarnan are similar last 5 (LLWLL) but have seen less goals…but note that their own last 5 have been against opponents who sit higher up the table than themselves.

I will be looking at Over 3.5 goals which is available at 13/8.

    Good luck.

    • Mr Fixit 9 years ago

HullShaker, treble down with that surprise 3-0 win for Inter Turku. Super Single wins though although it wasn’t as easy as I expected. Off to take the boy to training. Will put something for Chile-Peru later.

  63. stagger 9 years ago

I didn’t back yesterdays three-legged SS but I did back the last three-tiered one which came in without cover.

I can understand Tonado’s point because those who backed the SS in shop and have no online accounts can’t cover easily or even if they backed it online there may not be sufficient funds in their accounts to bet on covering.

Some folk just back the SS as it stands and feel let down when they hear other folk have done well by covering it.

I think that’s perhaps a valid gripe from people who just take the SS and let it ride, regardless of cover and in-play adjustments.

At the end of the day, MrF, you’ll never please anyone.

    • Mr Fixit 9 years ago

stagger, it’s up to individuals whether they cover or not but if they ignore it they’ll lose out long term. My stats take into account cover advised only and the stats would be better if they took into account cover done but not advised because like everyone else I can’t be here all the time. But wherever you are if you’ve put a large stake on a bet you should always be monitoring and looking at the cover of cash-out options. All you need is a phone and internet access.

    • stagger 9 years ago

Yes, you always make sure to alert people to cover when you can, and that does help. Do you remember last season when your fourfold BTTS was all but in at half time? I think Ipswich needed to score in the second half to see the bet in.
I remember it well, I think it stands as your fastest ever BTTS 4fold to date. I was on it but with just Ipswich (one down at half time) needing to score to bring home the 4fold I covered the Ipswich BTTS NO to reclaim my stake at least. Well, Ipswich did score quite early on second half if you remember to bring home your 4fold BTTS in record time, and still I made a good profit, even though posters were advising to let the bet run.

At the end of the day, like you say, it’s all about concentrating on the bet you’ve got going. Unfortunately not everyone has access to online accounts. I didn’t, before I got a coral card, great for topping up and betting online if I may say. But it’s a bugger when you run out and see a late night fancy on here but the shops aren’t open to top it up (obviously the less topping up the better!) Good idea, though. I remember asking advice on here last year about what the card is all about and got positive answers about it. Another good asset to the site is that people are willing to help others if they have a serious question.
But like I say, it can be frustrating for those without readily available funds to cover, but yes I agree, if you’ve got a punt going it should be imperative to keep an eye on it with covering being an important option if avaliable to you.

      Thanx for reply, MrF.

    • Mr Fixit 9 years ago

stagger, to be fair there aren’t many people on here without an online account. I get plenty of Record readers who don’t which is why my columns in the paper are different – it’s a different audience.

Whoa, missed that super last minute super single from Mr F, would have loved to have been on that. Can’t check the site all day when I’m at work, would be good to have an alert servic everyone Mr F posts. Maybe in the September revision?

    • Mr Fixit 9 years ago

Tommy, loads of stuff happening in September – at the moment you can get a post alert on twitter @mrfixitstips but not for comments.

Note Rosenborg II are down 0-2 at Afjord.

Whilst over 3.5 FHG is nice at 8/11 could Rosenberg get back to a winning position by HT (10/3)?

  67. deanotron1 9 years ago

Not looking good for the over 2.5 in the jonkopings game, only one shot on target and its half time!

Baerum vs SK Brann – Over 3.5 match goals 5/4 @Co.ral

    ***FLUFFED SHOT*** (1-1)

  78. Ooh Cake 9 years ago

Pretty sure jonkopings is upsetting many an accumulator, unless they do something in the last 5 mins. Good day all in all, anyone else on the 2 stand out friendlies today? Plzen and Spartan Moscow, talk about making you hold your breath lol, I think Plzen game would have gone the same as Spartak second half if they hadn’t got the red. The only value was in O2.5 for the double.

Degefors just scored which probably doesn’t help as I’m guessing most are on O2.5g or jonkopings o1.5tg

Looking forward to chile game tonight

    Evening Guys, Chile v Peru

Keep it brief again with the site acting up, I’m taking both teams to score. Chile have played some good attacking football, while Peru have a goal threat him in the shape of Paolo Guerrero who is coming off a hat trick.

The stats don’t back up this tip but that is why it is 13/10 Boyles with only 2 of the last 6 head to heads seeing both teams scoring, however 3 of those games were friendlies and Peru have scored in 7 of their last 9 games and at the odds I think it is worth risking.

Guerrero is worth a look at 9/2 anytime at Betway and will be my longshot bet as both to score is my main bet.

    BOTH TEAMS TO SCORE 13/10

    Longshot Bet

    GUERRERO TO SCORE 9/2

Good luck if your having a bet

    • Mr Fixit 9 years ago

thechief, I looked at btts in the Chile game and in Argentina-Paraguay tomorrow and that also looks big at 13-8 Coral when you consider it was 2-2 in the group stage.

  88. Jordan 9 years ago

    Chile to qualify
Portugal U21 to lift the trophy
    Brommapojkarna to score

  93. trevor 9 years ago

    Mr F

Any more bets today on the Chile game

    Nice win on the tennis

    Trev,….

  94. Jordan 9 years ago

Crane I will take that all day long mate. Plus I had my big winner on the NBA so those numbers don’t tell the whole story. Not bad for the off season I’d say bud.

  95. craneguy 9 years ago

    indeed Jordan yes fully agree

ps you any thoughts on ma post on raals thread at all? ta

  96. Gary May 9 years ago

Stan James have Chile to qualify at 7/2! Obviously an error but might get away it

  97. Jordan 9 years ago

Gary what a spot. I’ll have two points on that. Not harm in trying.

  98. Ooh Cake 9 years ago

Wow just seen that, managed to get on. What’s the procedure once a bets placed? Can they cancel or do they have to honour?

    • Mr Fixit 9 years ago

Ooh Cake, they don’t have to honour obvious errors or any mistake really. Sometimes they do though.

  99. Jordan 9 years ago

Crane don’t try and fix what isn’t broken mate so if its working for you then don’t see its a problem.

  100. thechief 9 years ago

Craneguy, good shout mate, I rarely go against the stats but but Peru have a scorer so worth a punt. Hoping it ain’t a dour semi final

  101. thechief 9 years ago

Mr F, not looked at tomorrow game but that is a good price, btts to score double in the two games could be worth a punt.

    • Mr Fixit 9 years ago

thechief, I’m going with the Chile single and same advice for the Argentina game.

  102. craneguy 9 years ago

aye mibee true rite enuff Jordan just am all over place team goals, match goals, bbts, overs etc tough going at times

chief, not a huge amount to go on the h2h strangely but from what I pick up peru not shy of a goal against chile

  103. thechief 9 years ago

Jordan, happy birthday mate, there is a Chicago bears Jersey in the post and a lump of cheese :)

  104. craneguy 9 years ago

Mr F it was 7/2 so I put £20 on. Now 1/5 so I’m awaiting an email!

  106. Ooh Cake 9 years ago

  107. craneguy 9 years ago

  108. Ooh Cake 9 years ago

Just got the email, cancelling now.

    • Mr Fixit 9 years ago

Ooh Cake, to be fair we all knew it was wrong. If they spot they’ll correct.

  109. Jordan 9 years ago

Was worth a go! Ooh Cake I’ve been paid out on bookies errors before but obviously that was a fairly big one.

  110. thechief 9 years ago

There was unsurprisingly a lot of Cutler Jerseys available mate, so yes :) you can resell it next year if you want when he winds up in Washington!
