RESULTS didn't go exactly to plan last night but my Super Single won while the Daily Double went down.
My 3pts single was on Belgium -1 and Portugal -1 while Bulgaria losing in Belarus beat the double.
I also posted an anytime scorer double with one winner in Dries Mertens and a loser after Kylian Mbappe failed to start for France as they were shocked 2-1 in Sweden.
Today it's all about Scotland v England and I've put up a separate post and I'll add another previewing some of the other games including Azerbaijan v Northern Ireland.
It's unpatriotic I know but Harry Kane to score is a Super Single and England are on my Top Treble. I don't mind if I get both wrong.

Another potential earner steers me away from goals and in the direction of the corner markets.
I’ve not the time nor inclination to trot out stats or detailed reasoning but you can bet your bottom dollar that England will do the following:
1. Attack and look impressive as hell for the opening 10 minutes but achieve f*ck all = corners.
2. Maintain copius amounts of possession for the subsequent 30 minutes with attacking wingplay but achieve f*ck all = corners.

Afternoon all
Cyprus team goals unders came up last night at just shy of evens. However commiserations to anyone else who like me had thought Hungary capable of scoring against Andorra. The same Hungary who put 3 past Portugal at last summer’s Euros! I watched the second half and it has to be said they stunk the place out. Yes Andorra can be very physical / borderline dirty at times particularly when they are still in a game but the Hungarians didn’t want to know – they just kept getting the ball wide and whipping cross after cross into an empty box. Never mind!
On to tonight and I have a fancy that will probably split opinion. I noticed the referee for the Scotland-England game is Italian Paolo Tagliavento. Anyone who watched last month’s Coppa Italia final might remember this guy. While Juventus and Lazio preceded to kick lumps out of each other for 90 minutes, racking up a collective 26 fouls, Tagliavento issued just one card and that came right at the death.
Further research into his stats show that he has officiated 21 games this season in all competitions, issuing 88 yellows and 4 reds at an average of 4.38 cards a game. That average may initially sound high to anyone who is unfamiliar with continental referees but he is only the 14th most prolific card issuer out of 21 refs in Serie A so below average. Unsurprisingly, that average drops even lower when observing his stats for international fixtures. Discarding friendlies, he has shown 33 cards in his past 12 internationals at a rate of just 2.75 a game.
In addition to this, he will obviously be aware of the fixture’s capacity for trouble etc and will have been briefed accordingly. Refs tend to go one of two ways in these sorts of games: either they card the very first 50/50 challenge to try and keep a lid on things, or they let everything go for the first half hour or so. I expect Tagliavento will fall into the latter category as having witnessed him in action he is not the sort of referee to be influenced by the occasion or by mobs of players surrounding him.
I would think the first 10-15 minutes will be fast and furious but things will settle down after that and if England score relatively early I think that will help to take the sting out of it a bit. There were only 3 cards shown when the sides met at Wembley as England won 3-0. Although that scoreline slightly flattered Southgate’s men I see them controlling most of this one and winning relatively comfortably again – and what with that plus the referee in question I expect another low card count.

The gamble didn’t pay off and it capped of a turd day for me as my acca went down the shitter. I watched the game and Lugo actually had quite a big chunk of possession but whenever they reached the final third things would just fall apart. Very bizarre.
