JOHNB put up just one tip on Monday and Qaffaal could only finish third so it was a 2pts lost on the day.

July now shows a 5.98pts profit and our man is hoping for a strong showing on Tuesday with singles, doubles and a treble advised.

I’ve said it before but it’s not all about Johnb so well done to everyone who put up winners on Monday.

Johnb’s Tuesday Tips

Wolverhampton 2.20
Can’t Change It 4-1 NB William Hill

Glorious Goodwood 3.10
Dutch Connection 5-2 NAP William Hill

Montefeltro 22-1 Paddy Power

Also 3 x 0.5 point doubles & 1 x 0.5 point treble on the 3 tips with Paddy Power at 11-4, 5-2 and 22-1.

Deeman, I’ll watch on catch-up – I read the Racing Post’s golf man Steve Palmer was going to be featured. His tips and columns are pretty good.

@deeman its very interesting watching to say the least

    Yeah tonight’s one was good.

    Outsider wins

  13. johnb 3 years ago

Mr f he is a very bad punter though, no willpower has to have a bet no matter what it’s on, you would think he would stick to what he knows

    • Profile photo of Mr Fixit Author
      Mr Fixit 3 years ago

johnb, he comes across as a bad punter but sometimes I wonder if he does all the bets he talks about or if many are made up for entertainment value.
I do every bet I put up (it would be stupid not to) but I wouldn’t like to reveal all my stakes. That’s my business and I don’t like to think people will try to copy stakes because it’s about what you can afford.
You can’t argue with his Palmer’s golf tips though.

  14. Centrecircle 3 years ago

    JOHNB spot on about palmer

  15. johnb 3 years ago

Deeman that’s because the two horses in question didn’t have the same owners, a classic school boy error but he got lucky.

  23. JonnyUTD 3 years ago

Really fancy ZAND at the 2pm Goodwood. A Mark Johnson trained horse, that’s having its first ride under its new team. With one of Marks main men Joe Flanning riding, and the conditions suiting ZAnd, it could be the start Mark would want.

ZAND is as its best on soft ground, and if the conditions stay as they are, it could be in its favour. 8/1 each way bet365, paying 4 places 1/4. ZAND really stands out for I, and it could peg itself a lovely stable win,

I also fancy astronenaus us in the 3:45. No write up, it’s just simply a beast. Another each way shot, but I may go for the straight win at a lovely 9/1.

    Good luck everyone.

SCARLET PURSUITS 14/1 EW 1.50 Wolverhamton

  25. Yovan 3 years ago

Jonny UTD, Sky Bet is giving money back on that race, as a free bet, if your horse lose. Max £25.

  26. double carpet 3 years ago

Well done again Nicola and De Niro.

Im putting up my selections for tomorrows card which is tough to say the least so going for some ew value were possible.

    5.15 Long Dog 8/11 – no brainer
5.45 Tavern Times 12/1 ew. If he can recapture earlier promise has every chance. Has just had the 2 runs after a 4 year absence and trainer has a 28% strike rate at the track (which is better than welds) !!
6.15 Now or Never 13/2 ew
Taking on the 2 short priced favs. I think the draw will play a big part in the race and im hoping being drawn one will be a big advantage. Ran a cracker fto and will surely come on for it.
    6.50 Vastonea 10/1 ew
won race last year and just 1lb higher
    7.20 Valac
just cant see anything to trouble him
    7.50 Bobby Jean 7/1 ew
    Will enjoy the soft ground
    8.20 Grecian Tiger 5/1
Will have been primed for this race

Thats my thoughts on galway for tomorrow. As i said its a tough card so smaller stakes but hopefully some value there.

  27. Deeman 3 years ago

Ah right John I didn’t know they were different owners. Defo got lucky there ha

I think he was only betting like £1 on his choices anyway lol.

Fair play I suppose and as Jordan said just seemed to genuinely like horse racing and wasn’t in it to make money

  28. Deeman 3 years ago

I found it funny how Palmer just casually chatted about losing 1k on bets while his pregnant missus sat next to him

My lady would have given me the boot if I told her I’d lost 1k in the bookies lol

  29. barry67 3 years ago

DC what do you make of CRICKLEWOOD GREEN 5.30 @ goodwood had it ew last timeout. Was looking at aqua ardens in that race ew chance i think

  30. johnb 3 years ago

    Dutch Connection (NAP)

In my opinion he is clearly the bet of the meeting, he isn’t a NAP/NB only because there is another strong tip running at Wolverhampton,
But for Dutch Connection the fact that connections have decided to run him in the Group 2 Lennox Stakes instead of the group 1 Sussex Stakes should be noted by punters,
In Dutch Connection we have a horse that seriously could have troubled Solow and if he had been running Gleneagles
He wasn’t right in the 2000 Guineas but bounced back in style at Royal Ascot winning the Jersey Stakes,
He then went to Chantilly for the group 1 Prix Jean Prat where he was only a half length behind Territories who had finished 2nd to Gleneagles in the 2000 Guineas

Dutch Connection in my opinion is the best horse to ever contest the Lennox Stakes and really it’s a good move by connections to virtually guarantee a win

Toormore is a decent horse and was 2nd last year but now running in the Godolphin colours but he isn’t the class of Dutch Connection who at 3yo is still improving.
The result should be a formality but as we know racing isn’t as straight forward as that and the best horse doesn’t always win.

  31. jimba 3 years ago

Johnb fine write up on dutch connection!!

  32. Biily J 3 years ago

Mr John B, great write up great to get the background knowledge.

    Morning all,

Some outstanding betting yesterday! I feel a good day coming on for the relentless Mr Alan M.

Gents, I know Goodwood is on but has anyone had a look at Beverly 4:30 i feel there is some value to be had here!

Really liking Naoise got 3 of its weight aswell to a weight of 9-4 which it won off previous.

    Help me out please

  34. JP3 3 years ago

Billy j yeah I agree but at the same
Time it is a tough race to call I think. Not keen on Jacob butterfield so I’ll stay away from him. Ivan furtado has made a good start to his training career but I quite fancy sophisticated heir in that race

  35. Trickytjm 3 years ago

JohnB’s NB now a non runner

  36. OllyS 3 years ago

Montefeltro 25/1 right now with boylesports and 22/1 bet365. Will only last a few mins

  37. punterpounder 3 years ago

Cant believe I havent noticed that before OllyS!

Johnb – You know too much :)

  40. Gus 3 years ago

Mark Johnston usually does well at goodwood.
Nearly 20% win ratio and 50% place.
3 in first but fanning picked Zand so would assume be the best of them

  41. JayL 3 years ago

SkyBet doing money back if your horse loses upto £25 max. Definately worth a Punt now with JonnyUtd tip Zand with the added factor of soft ground… Pile on the bets..!!

  42. Yovan 3 years ago

    Dutch Connection (NAP)
“He isn’t a NAP/NB only because there is another strong tip running at Wolverhampton”
Sorry JohnB, but I don’t understand this. As all your tips are level stake, why couldn’t you make Dutch NAP/NB and other one (now a NR), just a normal bet? You’ve done it before.

  43. arsie 3 years ago

    4.55 papa luigi 9/2 goodwood

  44. PeteT 3 years ago

John B can answer this himself but I guess putting joint NAP/NB would just add an extra point to stakes and 6 points staking (which is 75% of this months profit so far) would probably get him just as much stick as just tipping the NAP on normal level stakes.

Anyway – if you followed JohnB’s tips today on his staking plan with the NB now being a Non Runner the 0.5 pt NB/NAP double now becomes a NAP single at 0.5 pt so in essence we have a 1.5 x normal stake NAP anyway.

Can’t say John B doesn’t try and meet people in the middle!

    Good luck today!

  45. billy j 3 years ago

    Thanks for the message mate.

Iv looked at it all Morning I going to go with in form Rob Hornby on Hydrant for the win and a small each way on Mercers Row.

Coh Zand was awful today. Terrible performance, real shame. At least Astro placed, so that was a .5pt return there. I fancy Stay de night in the 6.50 Galway. Hopefully delivers, but looks a tough race to call.

    Top stuff DC

  119. JonnyUTD 3 years ago

Weld is renowned for having his horses performing at their peak for the Galway Festival ( as two wins on Monday will confirm ) and I believe that Stay De Night has been specifically prepared to win this race and is currently in prime form. Not the best draw but everything else points to a big run in terms of weights and measures and the market is cautious about him – hardly surprising given the connections.

Every thing says this Dermot weld runner should go well. Trip today suits won twice over this should not mind some cut in the going still has some room for improvement.

Lets just cross our fingers, Unsinkable and Vastonea are biggest threats..
