No posts from me yesterday as didn’t fancy anything. Shocked at how poor the final of the Euros was, France should’ve scored at least one.

Gone for a double and treble today, but heres my best picks for anyone who lumps. Price has gone, I forgot to post last night, but stick with the double/treble if you wish. The prices aren’t really a fair price to tip, but profits profit. Rather back a short priced winner than a big priced loser.

NAP: Aventinus 5/4 ladbrokes – Fancied this one over the weekend but was a non runner. Graham Gibbons takes the reins, and I’m hoping will stear home easily. Danger is the well backed Johnson newcomer, which I’ve received some info saying they expect a big run. But I fancy the current favourite to win either way.

NB: Boater 10/11 william hill – I can’t exactly tip this, as the price is terrible now. But it’s still a horse for someone to lump on. Really fancy Boater to win back to AW, and win well. Maybe 3lengths.

Double – Back them both as a double.
Treble – Aventinus, Boater and Lonely the Brave (2.45 Chelmsford). – Lonely the brave fancied to win, ran well last time and has bags of speed. Been given info saying big run expected and Norton has travelled over 300miles for Boater & Lonely the Brave apparently?

    E/W of the day – Lady Lunchalot 8/1 – Chelmsford 5.15

    Good luck.

Retired racehorse ridden by AP McCoy shot dead ‘with handgun’ near Chislehurst stables

A retired prize-winning race horse has died after being shot in the head with “a handgun” in an apparently random attack as he grazed near his south east London stables.

Officers from Bromley CID are investigating the shooting, which happened near Kemnal Manor Stables in Chislehurst on Friday afternoon.

Shocked staff at the yard had gone to check on the horses as normal at around 3pm and found Woolfie slumped on the ground with a bullet wound to his head.

Stables manager Justine Bowdery is now putting up £3,000 of her own money as a reward to catch the gunman.

She said: “The police said the gun they used is highly dangerous. It wasn’t an air rifle. This was a proper handgun.”

“Whoever did it, they went up to the horse and shot him at point blank range in the head,” she went on.

“It’s just incredible really. This kind of thing just doesn’t happen. Chislehurst is a nice place.

“The yard’s been here for 30 years and nothing like this has ever happened.”

The 11-year-old white thoroughbred was originally trained by Gary Moore and raced under the name Woolfall Treasure, being ridden by jockeys including A P McCoy and Richard Hughes.

Since he retired in 2013 after 42 flat and 15 jump races, Woolfie had been owned and cared for by Myra McKenna, 58, and lived at the stables.

A distraught Ms McKenna told the Standard: “He’d just had a leg injury back in April and he’d been kept in for all that time until Thursday when I took the decision to let him go out again.

“I’d spent two years nursing him back to health, feeding him up and he was just up to health again.”

“He meant everything to me, absolutely everything. I spent nearly every night going down to see him and I’d just give him attention and look after him,” she said.

“He was a real character, so many people loved him. The people at the yard have been absolutely fantastic to me since it happened,

Ms McKenna, whose friends have set up a fundraising page to pay for Woolfie’s cremation, went on: “The vet and police said they’ve not seen anything like it before.

“Police said it was somebody who had a powerful weapon that shouldn’t be on the streets.”

She added: “I just think it must be someone that’s very sick. There are no words to describe them. I wouldn’t even know what would go through their minds to do such a thing as this.”

Ms McKenna said: “I obviously want this person caught and I don’t want it to happen to anybody else. Even the police have said these people can progress on to humans after this.

“I just want to say what a special horse he was. He was such a beautiful animal.”

A spokesman for the Met Police was unable to confirm what type of gun had been used but confirmed officers had been called at 3.20pm on Friday.

He said: “Officers attended and found a horse deceased. A vet was called and enquiries are underway to establish the cause of the animal’s death.

“Detectives from Bromley CID are investigating

That is one of the most upsetting stories I’ve read about in ages.
Sorry to swear but if the twat gets caught I would happily shoot the sick fook myself.
That poor horse is a defenceless non aggressive animal who probably trusted the git.
I’m lost for words, my Mrs shed tears when I read the story to her.
What’s losing a few quid on a bet eh!.
This poor woman has nursed this retired horse and it must feel like a family loss.
