LEICESTER did the business to keep the Super Single run going but for most of the accumulators it was about what could have been.
I tipped Leicester to win but for the single took them to score 2+ goals and it was up inside 22 minutes. That's six winners in a row for my main bet. For my £10 to £100 challenge against Greg Browning I took Leicester not to lose and I've stolen a march on him after he put up a loser.
My only other winner came with my Euro treble on Wolfsburg v Dortmund both to score, Real Madrid to score 3+ and Lyon v Angers under 2.5 goals. That paid 3-1 thanks to a late Wolfsburg penalty.
Chelsea killed the Top Treble as they were shocked at home to Bournemouth and it was four out of five on the homes as Southampton's draw beat me. Greg had one of those days he'll get once a year and neither Desmond or Scott Allott had any joy either.
So we move on to today and it's all about Liverpool at Newcastle after I put up two early Super Singles last Wednesday. Liverpool -1 has dropped from a best 9-5 to 13-8 at Skybet and Liverpool to score 3+has fallen slightly to 2-1.
I've posted a separate preview of the Premier League game and also fancy Derby at Sheffield Wednesday in the Championship. The Owls have injury problems and Derby are beginning to motor and while I get the impression he's not totally convinced Rams fan Nathan Ufton has believes his side will edge it. Derby are a best 29-20 at Coral and for me Derby draw no bet at 8-13 or Derby not to lose at 4-11 are the best bets.
Take the double chance to start the Top Teble and in Spain take Athletic Bilbao at home to Malaga. Bilbao are in decent form with eight wins in their last 10 and face a Malaga side who haven't scored in their last six on the road in La Liga. Bilbao are 1-2 with most firms and I'm adding Aritz Aduriz to score as a third Super Single – he's netted 20 this season and five in his last two outings.
Complete the treble with Fiorentina are at home to a Udinese side they've beaten seven in a row in Florence.
There are also nine FA Cup ties and instead of backing Peterborough at home to Luton I'm on goal-hungry Posh to score 2+ goals as they have done in the last eight matches.
Add over 2.5 goals at Stuttgart v Werder Bremen. Stuttgart have conceded 12 in their last three games and Werder have leaked 13. Hopefully defences won't be on top here. On the h2h the last five meetings in Stuttgart have totalled 23 goals including a 4-1 win apiece and 6-0 home rout.
Complete the treble with over 2.5 goals at Feyenoord v Heracles. The Rotterdam men could achieve this themselves as they've netted nine in two games while the last five playings of this one have gone over 2.5 goals.
Other sides I like not among the top tips are Villarreal at home to Rayo and Milan at Carpi. In the FA Cup I've checked team news and Exeter are missing half a dozen – mostly midfielders – at home to Port Vale who are 5-4 with the likes of William Hill.
Oxford have Ryan Taylor and Chris Maguire out but skipper Jake Wright back for an interesting tie at home to Forest Green and Bradford are likely to make changes for the visit of Chesham.
Colchester have Wayne Brown in charge after the departure of Tony Humes and against Altrincham he'll be looking to shore up a defence that's conceded 15 in four.
Dagenham look a decent shout at 8-11 with William Hill at home to Whitehawk and I also like Carlisle at Welling in the live TV showdown.

Derby get the win for me here! Winning 8 of their last 10 games loosing just 1. beating Hull 2-0 last time out. They also have the best away form in the Championship. Things not looking as good for Wednesday with 1 win in 5.
Been a few shocks today but well done on yet another super single win Mr Fixit.
@mr-fixit i’ll look in depth at derby team news during the night but my early thoughts is this is the 2nd of 3 tough games on the bounce. We quite easily beat Hull who had the best record in defence in the league and topped the table, and as I pointed out about them losing Dawson in the heart of their defence, they also added an away loss to Man city and now just been beaten away in the league. That’s 3 losses on the bounce for them.
Derby’s previous game was against Cardiff, a team I believe to be about the same level as the likes of Hull, Brighton, Reading and a few others. Stats wise, we bossed that game and could easily of been a win by a much larger margain. Something that we have not done lately. BUT we’re grinding out these wins at tricky places or against awkward opposition that are usually in a terrific run of form and that is pleasing.
Last year, we often struggled to compete with teams in the latter stages particular but against top 6 sides. Many taking either 4 or 6 points from us which is unacceptable. And we freefalled.
Sheff Wednesday, I had it in my head was a game at the Ipro, and later, Brighton away. It turns out I’d got my wires crossed so an away trip to Hillsborough then Brighton at home.
Our form has been terrific in October and November as I expected, we dropped 5 points from a max of 27. I think we also have the best away record in the league along with the tightest defence in the country. Clean sheets are becoming a very regular occurrence and whilst our front 3 have been struggling to find the net – apart from Weimann, we’re bringing up the goal tally with our midfield who seem to of stepped up the game. Johnson was left out in the last game for picking up 5 bookings and judging by the way the boss is picking the team, I can’t see him making a start because the boss doesn’t like dropping players who’ve been given a chance and have seized upon it. With Johnson and Bryson both on the bench, it shows we have excellent quality on starting 11. ( I don’t know a team in the league who wouldn’t want most of our bench to swell their ranks ).
Brighton have been slipping up this past 3 or 4 weeks which is good news for Derby fans BUT Sheff Wed are steadily gaining momentum – not perfect, but are gaining ground by hovering just adrift of the top 6. On paper, I’d say this game is the easiest of the Hull/Sheff Wed/Brighton games but don’t go crazy on this game. It’s going to be another hard fought with derby chasing the top spot again, and Sheff wed want to crack the top 6. Big scoring games have so far been sparse for the Rams and most wins have been no more goal laden than a 2-1. We’re capable of another clean sheet which would be nice and pre-match I’d take a 1 nil, but in truth, we’ve started come firing out of the blocks from the off where in the past it tends to take Derby 25 mins to get into the game and start turning it around. I don’t think it will be a high scoring game although with the way we have been playing, we are due one. I do expect a Derby win @ around 6/4 – 11/8 price, I won’t be going crazy though with a -1 handicap, but a -1 Asian h/c might be worth looking at. I would like to see Martin back on the goals, I don’t think he’s bagged one in 5 or 6 games now which is a slight worry.
I’m yet to drop in my super single entry but it will be for a Derby win when I post it. Best of luck guys.

much of what I’ve said is re-iterated. they predict a 2-1 to derby. and have pointed out Sheff Wed have drawn 4 and lost 8 from the last 12 encounters with the rams. But they’re unbeaten in 5 games at home and with patchy form ( I thought it was better than it was ) and a significant injury list, I believe they’ll struggle to contain us.
No new team news, I’m due for a sleep and will possibly miss the match. But I stick with my original thoughts and expect us to get all 3 points. The gaffer may change out Hendrick for Johnson, but I’m not too sure. I liked the way we attacked Hull from the off creating 4 clear chances in the first 10 mins, so I’d stick with it. Clearly its working. The 4 clean sheets from 5 and conceding once in that game suggests that sheff wed could well struggle to get the better of our back 4. If I was to pick a couple of scorelines that I think are likely, 2-0 or 2-1 to the rams, my bias is towards the 2-0 slightly because of our settled back 4. Safety though I’d take the 11/8 with bet365. I can’t see it failing.

Boomster, early days with the NZ Youth but certainly proving a good hunting ground.
Always looking at the more obscure leagues and most often they prove to be too irregular or inconsistent to follow but sometimes you can hit upon some great value.
The key then is all about familiarisation – get to know the teams and related goal ratios and the study pays off. The Icelandic leagues have been exceptional for that and more recently the SA leagues.

The 2015 MLS season has come down to one game in Columbus Ohio where the Columbus Crew will host the Portland Timbers. A sold out crowd is obviously expected with a stadium that seats 19,000+, but only 900 tickets were supposedly allocated to the Timbers. Slightly unfair but thats Americans for you. Columbus are being favoured by the bookies but as an MLS follower, I’d have to say that if this was on neutral ground it would either be split 50/50 or perhaps even a slight edge to the Timbers. Columbus have one of the most potent attack in the MLS with Kei Kamara (25 goals, 8 assists) and Ethan Finlay (13 goals, 13 assists) making it into the MLS XI, but their defence isn’t the best, only keeping 6 clean sheets in 34 games (3 at home). Portland will be coming here as the most in form side in the MLS, unbeaten in their last eight and scoring eighteen in the process. They are one of the better defensive teams too keeping 13 clean sheets in their 34 regular season games (5 on the road). Portland did well to get to the final as they knocked out competiton favourites Dallas FC, 3-1 at home and 2-2 on the Dallas turf. They also had statement wins leading up to the end of the regular season, beating Columbus 2-1 in this very same fixture, and dominating the then favourites LA Galaxy 5-2 on Galaxys home turf. Like I said, if this was a neutral ground, I think Portland would be the favourites. This is winner takes all and while I think there should be goals, there’s a slight if in the back of my mind. One market I’m confident on though is in the corner region. The MAPFRE Stadium is very tight and this shows with the amount of corners and goals when Columbus play at home, with an average of 3.71 goals and 11.7 corners. When Portland won here at the end of Septemeber, there were 18 corners in the game, Portland with 11, Columbus 7. When the Red BUlls came here for their playoff semi final, both sides ended+ the 90 minutes with 10 corners each. Columbus are giving up an average of 4.9 corners per game, with Portland averaging 5.2 on the road. Columbus average 6.8 corners at home with Portland giving up an average of 6.1 on the road. With the tight stadium and the prize on the line, I think Portland can easily make a game of this, and the over 10 corner total will be my main bet. Columbus happen to make the majority of their games very open and I think it will be a fast paced end to end contest for the full 90.

Thats up to you @paulcwn this is why I use points. For me 1 point is 20£ with a opening bank of 250£ every 2.5 poits profit I withdraw 50£.
This works out well for me. Just a matter of finding your comfort zone with stakes you are “happy” to lose.
paulcwn, mine is £10 but has to be what you can afford.
Best thing to do is build a bank up to at least £250 then start betting with a points system.

I bet on a fairly eclectic mix of leagues from domestic to more unorthodox places but I must say of late, the massive inconsistencies and unpredictabilty of games has become too much and I’ve found myself falling into the trap.
Anyway, I’ve made a big decision and I’ll be steering clear of the English Premier League and sticking to more stable footballing nations like Guatemala, Peru and Colombia in the future…
Back to reality then and a little trip over to Bolivia…
BOLÍVAR VS. CICLÓN – 8.00 KO:
This one really interests me as Bolivar are a good side sitting 2nd and are massive favourites (1/7 on) against 7th placed Ciclon.
The thing is, Ciclon are way to big at 20/1 and although I won’t be backing the win – there is potentially great value to be had.
Ciclon’s recent form is actually better than Bolivar’s with 12 points in their last 4 games compared to the host’s 10 points in 4.
Add to that, Bolivar drew 2-2 with Blooming who Ciclon beat 3-2 a few weeks back.
Top side Sport Boys beat Ciclon 2-1 but hammered Bolivar 4-1….food for thought!
I don’t doubt Bolivar’s home favouritism but I think there’s value in a Ciclon goal at 5/6 or Ciclon +2 at 27/20. Longshot would be Ciclon Over 1.5 goals at 18/5.

The reason Bolivar are such big favourites is they have only lost 1 home match (Sporting) to a team below them in height. In fact they have only lost 4 times in the previous 2 years to teams from nearer sea level.

As I expected, I managed to miss the Sheff Wed/Derby game and I was actually surprised it finished up 0-0. Which is a disappointment from a betting point of view, so apologies for that one.
It was low scoring, so I got that right, and its now 13 from 13 that Sheff Wednesday have not beaten us.
I’ve seen a very un-informative match report that states very few chances for either team and I’ve not even seen who took part.
I think maybe people have started to realise that if they want something out of playing against derby, they can’t sit back, they can’t allow Derby space to play, they have to go toe-to-toe for every ball. Blackburn/Leeds/Forest and a few others did this and took something from those games. I’m assuming Sheff Wed set themselves up to grind out a draw which must of been deserved for them. It keeps them in with a chance of making the top 6 and still keeps Derby in the hunt for the top 2 so its not the worst result for us. Another clean sheet is a bonus and with Brighton wobbling of late, we play them next at our place and I know we are capable of beating them. If I manage to catch the last match highlights and decent reports on the match, I shall try to summarise, but its a touch difficult to do that accurately without following the match as it unfolds.
nathanufton, as you see I put up Derby to lose and from your write-up I got the impression you weren’t totally confident. From the highlights it looked like Wednesday had the best chances but I wasn’t paying full concentration.

This one really interests me as Bolivar are a good side sitting 2nd and are massive favourites (1/7 on) against 7th placed Ciclon.
The thing is, Ciclon are way to big at 20/1 and although I won’t be backing the win – there is potentially great value to be had.
Ciclon’s recent form is actually better than Bolivar’s with 12 points in their last 4 games compared to the host’s 10 points in 4.
Add to that, Bolivar drew 2-2 with Blooming who Ciclon beat 3-2 a few weeks back.
Top side Sport Boys beat Ciclon 2-1 but hammered Bolivar 4-1….food for thought!
I don’t doubt Bolivar’s home favouritism but I think there’s value in:
