AUG 25: GOLF, TENNIS & OTHER SPORTS TIPS

usmastersgolf

I HAVE to start this thread by congratulating golf tipster Ace Venturer on another terrific week. Our man put up 50-1 shot Hunter Mahan to win The Barclays event on the PGA Tour and he did so by two shots.

Last week Ace predicted Marc Warren to win at 30-1 and that’s five antepost tournament victories he’s notched in five weeks – and that’s some going.

I’m playing golf with Ace in the morning and I hope his putting’s not as hot as his tips!

Look our for Ace’s next selections later in the week and meanwhile let’s hear your thoughts on the US Open tennis and any other sports tips.

Ad wil lead the way here and I look forward to seeing his thoughts. With Rafael Nadal out the focus will fall on Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic while expectations for Andy Murray are low as he still struggles for form after his back operation.

The Scot has drifted from 4-1 to 7-1 with William Hill after being seeded on the same side of the draw as world No.1 Djokovic.

The Serb is the 11-8 favourite but he also has been struggling form and I’d prefer to side with Roger Federer at 5-2.

In the women’s draw Serena Williams is the 6-4 favourite and her recent form suggests she is back to her best.

US Open Men’s Tennis outrights (William Hill): 11/8 Djokovic, 5/2 Federer, 7/1 Murray, 14/1 Wawrinka, 16/1 Dimitrov, 25/1 Tsonga, 25/1 Raonic, 40/1 Berdych, 50/1 Ferrer, 66/1 Bar.

US Open Ladies Tennis outrights (William Hill): 6/4 Serena Williams, 6/1 Sharapova, 7/1 Halep, 10/1 Bouchard, 10/1 Kvitova, 12/1 Azarenka, 20/1 Radwanska, 20/1 Wozniacki, 33/1 Venus Williams.

    Super Single for tomorrow’s tennis:
Halep vs Collins – Collins under 1.5 games in opening set 5/4

Simons Halep should absolutely coast to victory tomorrow, and the bookies think so too, so much so that you actually can’t bet on Halep to win the match, only on her to win 2-0 @ 1/50. Halep should steamroller Collins right from the start and I think this is a great bet. Essentially, you need Halep to win the opening set by a score of 6-0 or 6-1, and the bet wins. At 5/4 , it’s too good for me not to take, so that’s my main bet on tomorrow’s tennis!

    Cycling: Vuelta stage 3

Exciting stage today, with a spectacular finish on a short steep hill. The guys with a sprint uphill will go for the win today.

I will be on below match-ups, winner in capitals:

    EVANS v Poels
    GILBERT v Pozzato

    Double @ 2.09 with 888sport

Evans was in great form in the tour of Utah two weeks ago and already showed he can finish on this kind of terrain this season. Poels hasn’t got a good sprint and I think Evans will finish in front of him easily.

Gilbert won the Amstel Gold race this year and the finish of this stage is kind of similar to that race. Gilbert is one of the favourites today, can’t see Pozzato finishing in front of him.

    Small stake stage winner bet:

    Daniel Martin @51.00

Greetings one and all on the dawn of 2014s fourth and final Grand Slam. Despite the notable absences of Rafa Nadal and Juan Martin Del Potro, it should be an exciting week on both the Men’s and Women’s side of things, with loaded quarters and intriguing first round match ups scattered around the place.

    Previously Tipped Outright Winners:

    Men’s:
    Roger Federer @ 9/1 NOW 11/4
    Marin Cilic @ 170/1 NOW 130/1
    David Ferrer @ 70/1 NOW 55/1

    Women’s:
    Lucy Safarova @ 140/1 NOW 130/1
    Kvitova @ 12/1 NOW 10/1

    Quarter Winners:

    Men’s 2nd Quarter: Raonic @ 15/8
    Men’s 3rd Quarter: Ferrer @ 9/4
    Women’s 2nd Quarter: Kvitova @ 2/1

    Monday’s Picks:

    Single:
    Abanda to win a set v Lisicki @ 6/4

    Treble:
    (To win a set)
    Rola v Verdasco
    Roger Vasselin v Robredo
    Vesely v Wawrinka

    pays 9/2

    4-folds:

    Benneteau d Paire
    Mahut d Belluci
    Young d Kavcic
    Pospisil d Bollelli

    pays 3/1 (NAP)

My fifth best pick is Kamke to beat Ebden and the 5-fold pays 11/2

    Tsonga d Monaco 3-0
    Murray d Haase 3-0
    Petkovic d Jabeur 2-0
Venus Williams d Date Krumm 2-0

    pays 3/1

A good spread to kick the week off. Hopefully with a bang. Good Luck.

    Hi Ad,

    Thanks buddy

Ad, if I go with Raonic and Ferrer to win outright so two single with bet365 do you know if I can cash out ?

    Thanks Fish

  8. Sam 4 years ago

    Mens US Open Day 1:

Tobias Kamke to Win 1st Set and Win the Match
    Radek Stepanek to Win 3-0
    Fernando Verdasco to Win 3-0
Donald Young to Win 1st Set and Win the Match

    Just over 11/1 on bet365.

  9. Wato 4 years ago

Fish yes the cash out option works probably if and when they get to the quarter final stage in doesn’t work while they are in action though

  10. Wato 4 years ago

    Ad I’m on your 4 fold :)

  11. Ad 4 years ago

Fingers crossed it gets us off to a flyer this week Wato. Considered a shorter priced NAP but decided to try and start the tornament with bang. I’ll go for a banker bet tomorrow if it lets us down today. I’m optimistic it won’t come to that though!

  12. Ad 4 years ago

Fish I’m pretty sure you can cash those out, I haven’t placed a bet365 outright for ages though so I can’t be certain.

  13. Iddy 4 years ago

    Ad it’s a very difficult R1 to pick out much value. I’ll try start off with a bang as well;
    Becker d Gojowyck
    POSPISIL d bolelli
    Errani d Flipkens
    Benneteau d Paire
    Pays 3.5/1

  14. Ad 4 years ago

Quiet confidence in my 1,250/1 20 fold acca

Jabari is 7/2 with Ladrokes if you are interested

When does NBA & NFL start

  16. Iddy 4 years ago

Ad – who u got in the 20 fold. I threw in a couple R1 10-15 fold accas as well. Not confident in them at all though haha

  17. DeAndre 4 years ago

    Cycling: Vuelta stage 3 result

    EVANS v Poels
    GILBERT v Pozzato

    Double @ 2.09 with 888Sport WIN! :)

    Small stake stage winner bet:

Daniel Martin @51.00 LOST, that was close. Martin finished second!

  19. Fish 4 years ago

    Hi Wato and Ad,

    Thanks for the feedback

    Regards

    Fish

  20. Shawcs 4 years ago

Murray is struggling 2-1 up. Hasse 5/1 to win.

  21. Iddy 4 years ago

Well done Benneteau, you let everyone down.

  22. Wato 4 years ago

Need the banker bet tomorrow Ad lol

  23. Roberto Stirrotto 4 years ago

    Wozniacki 2-0

    Lisicki 2-0

Double pays 0.99/1, shade under evens @ bet365.

Going against Ads tip but favourable 1st round draws for the two of them and they’ll be looking to get progress sorted as quickly as possible.

Good luck if you’re on it.

  24. cheese 4 years ago

Thanks Mr Orange – was on the double.

  25. Ad 4 years ago

Id- a pretty crazy day as far as first rounds go. No big seeds crashing out but some really surprising results on the mens side. Abanda single aside everything I touched turned into ashes today. I’m confident tomorrow will bring results though. a card I fancy, though today has been a warning that 1st round matches aren’t always what they seem to be.

  26. Ad 4 years ago

Hah, and I’ve posted that before Abandas actually won a set. Serving for it now but I’m expecting some egg on my face any minute.

  27. Ad 4 years ago

Wato I will indeed be trying to bring in a banker or two tomorrow after what I must confess was a very messy day today. It all looked so straightforward on paper! I got carried away in the excitement of grand slam opening day. I’ll be trying to double my money tomorrow and nothing much more adventurous than that.
