I PUT up a full house of winning tips for the second time in three days including a 19-1 winner last night.

With time of the essence as it is every Friday I concentrated on the Man United and Lyon games and sometimes going with the obvious works a treat.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Alexandre Lacazette brought up the 19-1 first-scorer double and my 11-10 Super Single was Man United and Lyon.
I got lucky with the Daily Double of Man Utd and Lyon to score 2+ with Lacazette hitting the French side's second from the spot deep into injury time.
My challenge bet won for seven in a row and Betting Club for Gold members only also came in but there was no Bet of the Day.
It's been a great week with top tips from many contributors and I thank you all. Hopefully we're helping each other bash the bookies.
Unless you're backing all the short-price favourites – many of which are away from home – today's UK card looks tough and I'll be happy to make any sort of profit. Alloa are going for eight wins in a row in all competitions and feature heavily in my selections – so leave them out of you don't like the same side on multiple lines.
I've posted Scottish and English betting previews and put up Bet of the Day, Betting Club and Challenge Bet selections. So here are today's tips and don't feel you have to do them all.

Mr F, your bet of the day is going great guns. Love the team to score formula.

Motherwell are 7-1 on dnb. Surely worth 3 quid.

    • Mr Fixit 8 years ago

Never sure about Motherwell – not one for me but I’d be reluctant to back Rangers so short.

Brilliant day today was on brest dinamo man u and lyon ..also went with the safer ZLATAN and lacazete anytime double.. thanks for the brilliant tips

  4. HullShaker 8 years ago

Outstanding few days Mr F – the 19/1 1st goalscorer double was a corker and caps off a very successful midweek card for the site in general!

Two selections for tomorrow – the first is (in my humble opinion) a very ‘healthily’ priced single whilst the second is a much longer shot but, again, is made up of 5 fair priced picks:

    Bet 1:

    QPR OVER 1.5 TGS…5/4

    Bet 2:

    NORTH FERRIBY BTTS
    TRANMERE OVER 1.5 TGS
    BRADFORD PA OVER 2.5 MGS
    QPR OVER 1.5 TGS
    BRISTOL CITY BTTS

Pays a touch under 18/1 and won’t be too far off.

Best of luck with Saturday’s bets ?

    • Mr Fixit 8 years ago

Cheers, certainly been the best August on the site – it’s usually such a tough a month.
But so many good guys including yourself contributing it’s hard to go wrong.
Still Saturday’s card is tough and I don’t have good vibes about it.

great tipping from everyone on this and challenge thread. i know some have differences with different ways people bet but at the end of the day all that should matter is that regardless of betting styles we are all winning and long may it last, glad i found this site over a year ago as i was not winning much at the time but overtime watching the likes of greg mrf jordan and few others i have learned to bet a different way and now i win more than i lose. and its down to a greta community mrf and co have built her.

    • kelly.d 8 years ago

      2/10 for my spelling lol

  6. sam c 8 years ago

Well done on a brilliant night Mr Fixit!

Couple of what the bookies have as underdogs I fancy tomorrow, both in the championship.

First is Burton who are away at Blackburn who have lost there 3 opening games of the league, two of them being by 3 goals! Burton have lost 2 of theirs but they were both close games! Winning there last game against Sheffield Wednesday should bring them into this full of confidence!

    Burton WIN – 12/5

Next is another newly promoted team in Barnsley, after a very good first game against Ipswich that they lost 4-2 they have come fighting back beating Derby and QPR. Huddersfield have also had a good start too against tough oppersition and I do think this will a very close game. Having said that Barnsley should never be 16/5 and at 2/1 DNB I’m sure there is good value to be had here.

    Barnsley DNB – 2/1

    Bradford v Coventry
Last Season Bradford were very good defensively, especially at home where they racked up 12 clean sheets. This season is looking the same conceding just one goal from the first 3 league games. Coventry on the other hand have failed to score in there 3 openers!

Bradford clean sheet YES – 6/5

    • Mr Fixit 8 years ago

I’m on Burton and I like Bradford. Barnsley game is one I like for goals.

    • sam c 8 years ago

I agree Mr Fixit, the Barnsley game does look good for goals! I was going to go that way but couldn’t resist such good odds

  7. Jordan 8 years ago

Morning gents. Last nights BTTS was a loser with Southampton failing to net at Old Trafford. Had their chances and one called offside, and rightly so, but it’s no worries.

You’ll have to excuse the write up for todays punt as I’m just off the the back of three night shifts and have a wedding later today so time is limited.

Both these sides are playing teams who haven’t had the best of starts to their campaign and will need results. Burton haven’t been great but they’ve found the goals against Forest, Bristol city and a decent 3-1 win over Sheffield Wednesday midweek. They now travel to a Blackburn side who have lost all three games and will need to start picking up points in this grueling league.

The same goes for Preston who will travel to Loftus Road and face a QPR side who has also been in the goals. They lost midweek at Barnsley but still found the net twice, and beat Leeds at home very comfortably on the opening day of the season, and a 2-0 win in Cardiff. Tjarron Chery has scored in all three games for QPR this season and is 13/5 @ Paddy Power to continue his form.

The goal times are decent, QPR (52:00) and Burton (61:00 but instead I’m going to go back to my old roots and put both to score in a double and take Chery as a scorer with a 1 point stake.

On Sunday I’m taking West Ham to score twice against Bournemouth. The Hammers might have a trip to Romania in the week but focus will be getting their first point(s) of the season in their Premier League debut in their new home, and they will have a good chance against Bournemouth who conceded three pathetic goals (imo) against United last weekend.

    Saturday – English Championship – 3:00PM

    QPR
    Burton

    To Score Double @ 4/5 @ Coral – 5 points

    Tjarron Chery (QPR) Anytime @ 13/5 @ Paddy Power – 1 point

    Sunday – English Premier League – 4:00PM

    West Ham Over 1.5 Team Goals @ 10/11 @ Various – 4.4 points

Just seen your 1st goal double Mr F. Bravo. Nice to see you like Burton. Championship isn’t a strong league for me but I find it’s laden with goals if you can find the games. Think Burton are a possible SS contender but I’ll take the goal.

Anyone care to explain the complete disregard for Colchester at Pompy? Only 8/15 to score but their goal time is 77:00 @ 365. Seems decent value for a demoted side who have started the season well?

For the first time in 3 matches I WILL be on hand prior to the Derby county match with team news and thoughts rather than doing a summary at 5am on matchday.

This past 2 games, I steered you towards 3 winning bets, not terrific prices but all winners. 2 under 2.5 tmg’s and a derby double result in the last match – that was solidified with a 87th minute solitary Derby goal from a player largely overlooked last season in Kamara. I think he’s a pacey attacking midfielder who likes to run wide, but as I’ve said, he’s kind of an unknown entity, the opposition have no video footage to do their homework on him, and as a Derby fan, I know he’s barely figured since we brought him so I don’t know a great deal about him.

We face Villa at the Ipro and the only notable stat that I’m going to pay attention to is that Derby were only beaten 4 or 5 times on home turf last season. that suggests to me that a Derby double result tip looks on the cards. we’re still not gelling properly, the boss is still tinkering and don’t seem to be hitting our stride yet.

Villa have had a very similar start to the season having shed players since their drop. Worth mentioning though – the scorned players of former employee’s.
Derby took Darren Bent on a free after taking him on loan for the last half of the season – he used to be worth £16 million. Since he arrived at villa, he’s been massively overlooked – much like he was last year at Derby. I’ve made no secret of my desire to see him go, I think we have players who contribute much more over 90 minutes than him up front BUT the gaffer is giving him a sniff.
Scorned former players very very often stick one on their former employers by playing out of their skin and grabbing a goal, I’ve seen it time and time again. If Pearson picks him to start, you’d put your house on it that Bent would sell his own mother to get a goal against a team who left him in the wilderness.

I’ll look into the team, injuries etc a bit later and see if I can find something that jumps out at me. Still not confident of a Derby win yet BUT I’m more concerned with finding something worth betting on that will deliver to the site and give me a 4th straight winning tip.

@punterpounder @nathanl Have you guys seen Betfairs “Acca Edge” ? I never use them but I’m currently in Brussels and bet365 don’t let you place bets outside of the U.K.

For slighty reduced odds you can have your stake returned if 1 result lets you down. I think this is decent if you’re going for a high return Acca like Mr F’s perm tips today which I have followed, or if you’re placing a high stake. Plus it includes all competitions.

    • nathanl 8 years ago

Yeah mate a few friends use it but personally I don’t have a bet fair account and I cba setting up another as it’s something else to keep track of!

Good luck today even tho as a Manc I don’t like the Scousers (football banter only hehe) but reckon btts is a good shout in your game. Gray will be hungry to score after doing nothing last game plus your defence with all due respect is a little shakey. I think btts but Liverpool to win and Coutinho to score. Tonbridge Angels finished fourth in the league last year and were unlucky not to gain promotion through the play off’s after a 2-0 single leg away defeat at East Thurrock. They’ve started this season well with two wins from two coming at home and away whilst opponents Lowescroft Town have a win and a draw, the latter of which saw them being held at home by an average Needham Market side.

  34. GregBrowning 8 years ago

    Morning gents

Picked out two doubles during the week that I fancied for today’s NAP

    St Johnstone v Celtic

We’ve been terrific this season, played 7, won 5 drawn 2 and have an opportunity to go top of the league ( true story) we welcome a rejuvenated Celtic side to the fortress and we’ll have to be on our A game and hope Celtic have an off day! Confidance is sky high at Celtic park and that’s shown by the fact they have sold out their allocation at us for the first time in 5 years! It should be a cracking game but I feel Celtic will be too strong for us!

    Rangers v Motherwell

I agree with Mr F that rangers are too short but I still fancy them to put a well side to the sword! They’ve already beaten them this season in the cup and with new signings during the week the Ibrox club too have reason to be pleased with how the season is going

Fulham, QPR and Burton all odds against today..banging these in a treble at around 11/1.

Fulham at home to a goal shy Cardiff side who only won midweek thanks to two OG’s, none of their players have scored in any game so far.

QPR who have been impressive will look to bounce back from a poor result to Barnsley against another slow starting team in Preston.

Burton travel to a poor Blackburn side on the back of a big result against Sheffield Wednesday. Blackburn look doomed already and Coyle surely will be the first manager in the division to get the chop. How Burton Albion are 12/5 to win this I’ll never know. Crazy price for a team that’s given a good account of themselves in all the games so far.

Still too early in the season for me so I’m just going with a few goals bets in different variations, and all for small stakes, for an interest while watching Jeff and the boys

Bet 1 – all 3pm Premiership games to have 2 or 3 mgs (I quite like this bet as it covers 7 different score outcomes in each game)
    Burnley v Liverpool EVS
    Swansea v Hull 20/21
    Spurs v Crystal Palace EVS
    Watford v Chelsea 20/21
    West Brom v Everton 20/21
Perm any 4 and all 5 for 6 bets, minimum 4-fold pays around 14/1 and all 5 pays around 29/1 (plus all the 4-folds)

Bet 2 – all to Win and BTTS
    Burton Albion 11/2
    Newcastle 7/2
    Fulham 3/1
    QPR 4/1
Perm any 3 and all 4 for 5 bets, minimum treble pays 89/1 and all 4 pays 584/1 (plus the trebles)

    Bet 3 – all O2.5mgs
    Bolton v Fleetwood EVS
    Bradford v Coventry 23/20
    Millwall v Sheffield United 21/20
    Swindon v Port Vale 21/20
    Walsall v Charlton 21/20
Perm any 4 and all 5 for 6 bets, minimum 4-fold pays over 16/1 and all 5 pays 36/1 (plus all the 4-folds)

    St Mirren v Hibernian

Two good new signings in Andy Shinnie and Brian Graham although I don’t know if Graham signed in time to play but it should give Cummings and Holt the incentive to do better Infront of goal,
Andy Shinnie is a massive boost to our already strong squad, we make chances and a lot of them but in front of goal we have been woeful,
Even Lennon has said what I have been saying, someone soon is getting a battering and although we only won 2-1 against Dunfermline Lennon also says there was a gulf in class between Hibs and Dunfermline but I have said it every game that Hibs have played, we have been so far ahead of teams like Falkirk, Queen of the South and Dunfermline,
Hibernian can only win this league by 20 points in my opinion
And to think we have McGeouch and Fyvie coming back from injury and new signings, goalkeeper Marciano, attacking midfielder Andy Shinnie and forward Brian Graham from County

The Hibernian fans will Light Up Paisley today with the new away strip and the players will blow St Mirren away on the pitch

    SMALL STAKES-Woking v DAGENHAM and REDBRIDGE 10/11.
SMALL STAKES-DAGENHAM and REDBRIDGE over 1.5 TGS 5/6.

SUMMARY: Early days so sticking to small stakes. John Still takes his recently relegated team to Woking, he’s already began to put his mark on the team, and has been very busy wheeling and dealing throughout summer. There’s pace aplenty up front and Woking will be facing a team who fancy all 3 pts this afternoon ! Hill to date has struggled to find a winning formula on home soil, and the stats don’t lie, winning just 2 of last previous 12, drawing 5, and losing 5.

MAIN BET- COPENHAGEN v Aab 8/13.
SMALL STAKES- Over 2.5 mgs 4/5.
SMALL STAKES- COPENHAGEN over 2.5 TGS 2/1.
SMALL STAKES- COPENHAGEN over 3.5 TGS 11/2.

SUMMARY- Odds are short for a home victory, but I’m using this as a bank builder. Aab have been mauled in last two visits, 4-2, 6-2! Hoping again they approach the game in a positive matter and play an open game, which will suit COPENHAGEN !

@mr-fixit Burton have signed Sheff Utd’s former Derby right sided wing-back John Brayford on a season long loan.

personally thought he shouldn’t ever of left Derby but he’s being reunited with Nigel Clough who brought him to the Ipro and he should be a very good signing for the Brewers.

  63. maxxxx 8 years ago

Afternoon lads, its your main man Max here, after a full house yesterday we have the minefield of Saturday and I would recommend keeping punts to a minimum, like me I have picked out two teams I fancy. My tips are Liverpool 4/7 Paddy Power and QPR 21/20. I make QPR my NB as they have only lost twice at home this year whilst Preston haven’t won yet this season. These are my NAP & NB. I also like both to score O1.5g at 4/6 Boyles and 27/20 Coral.

Liverpool to win 4/7 (NAP 20PTS)
    Liverpool O1.5g 4/6 (5PTS)
QPR to win 21/20 (NB 10PTS)
    QPR O1.5g 27/20 (5PTS)

I will post my tips on the big evening game between Leicester – Arsenal later :-)

  76. nathanufton 8 years ago

No team news yet for Derby but I’ve noticed a +0.5 Derby a/h pays 3/10 yet a Derby double result pays 2/7.

2-2 now with the Burton game.

  77. Johnb 8 years ago

Yet another shocking performance by Hibernian,
Totally dominated the game from start to finish, shots cleared off the line, shots hitting the bar, keeper making good saved and some poor misses

Should have been 6-0 halftime and double figures by full time so 6 goals in 3 league games is a disgrace

    • nate pesh 8 years ago

John u are throwing money away on ur own team, ur better off backing over 1.5 team goals maybe in a double or treble

hopefully u have learnt that ur team doesnt have the firepower/composure to finish chances but I was keeping an eye on that game on 365 and the stats didn’t look like u dominated but stats don’t paint the full picture

Janssen misses when he should have scored and rubbish in Sweden

Leicester v Arsenal BTTS and Overs 20/21
    Vardy ATGS 6/4
Reckon Vardy may have a point to prove against Arsenal still struggling with defensive issues

  82. nathanufton 8 years ago

DERBY COUNTY: Carson, Christie, Keogh, Shackell, Forsyth, Hughes, Russell, Bryson, Butterfield, Ince, Martin. Subs: Grant (gk), Pearce, Baird, Johnson, Camara, Blackman, Bent.

ASTON VILLA: Gollini, Bacuna, Elphick, Chester, Cissokho, Westwood, Gardner, Ayew, McCormack, Grealish, Gestede. Bunn (gk), Baker, Richards, Kozak, Green, Hutton, Amavi.

Looks like a 4-1-4-1 for Derby with Hughes sitting in front of defence. I think this is not necessarily set up for a goalfest, its more containment. So for the third match on the bounce I’d have to say under 2.5 tmg’s @ 4/6 which is my choice bet with bet365. I think it looks like Villa are going for a 4-5-1 with 2 defensive midfielders and Gastede up front.

Derby’s team is unchanged from Tuesday. We should have enough about us to squeeze out a win but its your call, if we manage it, I’m not convinced of a high scoring match. we’re 20/23 with bet365 to win.

If safety is your bag, I’d take the +0.5 a/h on Derby at 3/10, its margainally better than the 2/7 both with bet365 for the Derby double result.

    Best of luck folks.

4th solid tip on the bounce from Derby’s last 3 matches with my under 2.5 tmg’s @ 4/6.
Sadly Derby were very lacking in the first half. Gestade who was Villa’s main threat was subbed early in the 1st half and Derby made a halftime change, Butterfield off, Camara on. Derby up a gear BUT still very very limp. A clean sheet is a bonus and early on Villa did enough to win it and the scales tipped a little back in our favour in the last 30 mins but largely I am very disappointed if this is the best that Nigel Pearson can get out of the players at his disposal. 4 league games, DWLD and a narrow 1 nil win in the mickey mouse cup at home to Grimsby with a full squad to choose from.
Not good enough. We should go back to 4-3-3, at least it was entertaining.

Let down big time by Copenhagen , shame would’ve been a cracking day if they had found the winner?

I thought Brendan Rodgers was not the man for Celtic, but so far hes proved me badly wrong. When we look back to Rodgers disastrous record with Liverpool, Im not the only one who thought Rodgers would struggle. Thankfully Efe Ambrose is going to be sold as he was the root of a massive problem with Celtic leaking goals.

#inbrendanwetrust, totally turned this team around wi only 3 players coming in plus de vries wh hasn’t played. Sinclair gonna be POTY and Dembele YPOTY guaranteed, we’d never have won under Ronny after losing 2 gls last w games but defence needs sorted still, Gordon seems to be an easy target for fellow hoops…

    • duncanpoundcake 8 years ago

Griffith’s and Roberts for me #inbrendanwetrust

Over 3.5 Fiorentina corners, they loved a corner or 3 last seaaon and at Juve so tough game but Conte away and hopefully be able to forward a bit more. Frosinone were a favourite of mine last season along with Torino and Fiorentina are up there too

    • harrybaines 8 years ago

This market would be so good inplay, i don’t get why they don’t have it to be honest

    • Alves 8 years ago

Probably cos they’ll lose too much £££, and it’s hard enough trying to set a line for corners as game can be changed in minutes. I’d like the asian lines like alt corners, lines set at 10.0 inplay but say 12.0 asian corners as only getting 8/13 to 6/4 on asians

    • liamw 8 years ago

Gonna go for over 2 fh asian corners @ 2.075 in play

  112. warktheline 8 years ago

Mr F, or anyone who may know, if a player gets sent if in European cup competition, is he still available for next domestic game? Cheers.

    • Mr Fixit 8 years ago

Just back in after trip to boozer to watch Leicester v Arsenal after Bankies game. Pretty sure he’ll banned from next European game.

  113. warktheline 8 years ago

    But not domestic game?

    • the notorious 8 years ago

Yes. Thomas Vermaelen got sent of on his debut for Roma in champions league on Thursday. He started for Roma today so red cards only seeded for that competition.

Precautionary steps to take Forsyth off the field over a jarred knee in the Derby match. It doesn’t look serious thank god. the last half of last season we really missed him.

On a positive note, it looks like we won in the race to secure the season long loan of future Man Utd striker ” James ” rings a bell ahead of Fulham who also wanted him. He has 4 years left on his contract and is very much one for the future but been pushed down the pecking order since Ibrahimovich arrived at Old Trafford.
Burnley made a £3 million offer for Hendrick ( it seems he’s on the radar of 8 or 9 clubs in the premiership and championship ) . the boss laughed at the offer and I believe Burnley doubled the offer, again they were fobbed off with words to the affect of ” You can see what he can do with his performances in the Euro’s – he’s a £10 million + player ” Everton and Bournmouth have been sniffing around him too and Sheff Wed offered us a deal similar to Burnleys + 2x season long loans for 2 of their defenders, this was turned down and we duly slapped in a transfer request for their pacey left wing asset Forestieri, that was rejected. He duly went on strike adamant he wanted the move and was told no. 2 weeks fine, a seat on the reserves bus and a grovelling apology and he’s marginally saved his career.
People thing we need money at the IPRO, we don’t. We won’t sell our best players, we’re no longer a feeder club for anyone and our owner is worth about £600 million. Hendrick has 2 years left on his contract and I can see that being extended by another 2 or 3 years.

I believe we’ve also turned down £6 million for Martin ( who we got on a free ) all of our assets have 2 to 4 years left on contracts, we just need to put them all together in the right places with dedicated roles and take a revisit to the 4-3-3 which was very successful.

Pearson also needs to start learning his squad better.

    • kyle b 8 years ago

Thought that was a ridiculous offer we made for Hendricks and thought it was embarrassing that we believed Derby would contemplate selling at that price. In the current market Hendricks is well worth between 8-10 million and I hope we get the deal done before the close of the window as we are still in desperate need of quality reinforcements in midfield

    Coasta Rican double…

These two games kick off at 22.00 and I’ll be taking Over 2.5 MGS in both:

    SPORTING SAN JOSÉ VS. OSA

    BARRIO MÉXICO VS. CARIARI POCOCÍ

    Pays 1.85/1

The latter game looks like it may have a few goals in it and I’m having a speculative pop at:

    OVER 3.5 MGS…29/20
    OVER 4.5 MGS…10/3

    Good luck ?

    Neymar ATGS 21/20

    WON :) :)

365 are a joke, has over 3 asian corners in the Juve game and sky sports, seria a official website state there were 4 corners. Yet 365 are saying the 4th one wasn’t taken and only awarded therefore doesn’t count. Anywhere else this bet was a winner, absolute scam. Everywhere online say’s there were 4 corners, absolute crap

    • Mr Fixit 8 years ago

With bet365 that’s common knowledge and may be reflected in prices.
It ain’t a scam if it’s in their rules – also you have to remember people on unders will have won.

    • harrybaines 8 years ago

I see what you mean but it makes it even worse that official stats say that there were 4 corners

    • Mr Fixit 8 years ago

It would be better if all bookies had the same rules but this one has come up often on the site.
I’m sure there are others who need the kick to be taken. Also if the ref gives a corner why doesn’t he just them take it then blow the whistle.
