WHAT a Wednesday it was from JohnB with two terrific winners at 7-2 and 13-2.
That ensured a 12.5 point profit for the day and April’s profit has now rocketed to 13.25pts.
On to Thursday and JohnB says: “It’s a hard day’s racing so only one tip but it’s only a nap so just normal stake.”
JohnB’s Thursday Tip

I’ll post this again from yesterday’s thread:
Looking forward to Aintree tomorrow,
Fancy Hargram strong in 2.15 race, and I’m also going to be on Arctic Fire in the 3.25, raced well at Cheltenham 2nd to the mighty impressive Faugheen.
Holywell is fancied in the 2.50 but I’m not going with him I’m backing Silviniaco Conti
Aintree
2.15 – Hargram – 1/1 (NAP)
2.50 – Silviniaco Conti – 15/8 (NB)
3.25 – Arctic Fire – 15/8
Singles and a Treble for me tomorrow.
Treble is 17/1
2:15 Aintree HARGEM
3:25 Aintree ARTIC FIRE
WIN DOUBLE
Being new to horse betting, would it be wise to get on a horse straight away or maybe wait until the last 10 minutes to place the bet?
Well Done Again John B, You are a class act from the top drawer. After 60 years of losing following other tipsters you have finally given me the edge on the bookies.Good Luck with Aintree tips.Ron.

wow is that the price really
about 6500/1 on willhill, they’re all horses i like have and won money with before and all have decent place claims so it’s worth a couple of quid e/w imo
Jag if your betting with BET365 they give you the best price, so if you back a horse at 2/1 and when the race starts the horse goes out at 5/1 if it wins then BET365 give you the price as 5/1.
I always take the price as early as i can and BET365 back me up if the price drifts
Thanks for the info mate
Going with the postman like the look of them two
With over 150 years of history, the Grand National more than any race, has developed some deep trends associated with its winners. Jumped over a unique set of fences and run over the marathon distance of 4 miles 4 furlongs – the Grand National is an idiosyncratic race.
Horses rarely have to deal with this set of variables, and it takes certain characteristics to cope with them. Here we analyse the trends that past Grand National winners have stuck by.
Trend 1: All of the last 70 winners were aged between 8 and 12 years old.
With 30 fences to negotiate, varying in height and some of extreme difficulty, you need a horse that can jump. With age comes experience. Up to a point, the older a horse is, the better jumper it is. With so many obstacles, horses are bound to make mistakes but the older, experienced jumpers can stay upright when they make a bad leap. Beyond 12 years-old, the rigours of the race become too much and horses tend to be getting slower at this time in their careers.
Trend 2: The last 24 winners had previously won a chase over three miles or further.
The four and a half mile trip of the Grand National makes it one of the longest races on the National Hunt calendar. Akin to a marathon, the horses need to be proven over long distances.
Trend 3: 20 of the last 23 winners had won a chase with 12 or more rivals.
With 40 runners contesting the race each year, runners need to be used to the hurly burly of a big field. With such a scrum at each fence, horses need to be capable of jumping well even when suffering interference.
Trend 4: 8 of the last 10 winners had won at least a listed or graded race.
With a prize fund of almost £1million, better quality horses are contesting the race each year. The senior handicapper, Phil Smith, has also changed the way weight is allocated so that horses are more closely matched. With numerous entries rated 150+ it takes a good quality horse just to get into the race.
Trend 5: Only two horses have carried more than 11st 1lb to victory since 1983.
Due to the extreme distance of the race, weight seems to have an effect on the result but as the race evolves this is starting to change. Two of the last four winners carried 11-5 and 11-6 respectively.

Duncan
money coming for W Massagot as low as 16’s now and 40’s into 25’s with 40/1 bookies very interesting for me as I highlighted Corals being the lowest and they have cut again even thought hey were already ducking it at 20’s – key for me as they are ducking it – who would back with them as lowest odds earlier? So they fancy it ! Thats how I see their stance.
Wish I had put more on now at 40’s

5.15A-The Tourard Man. I thought this horse was given a poor ride last time out when finishing 2 1/2 lengths behind Call The Cops at Cheltenham. Thankfully W. Hutchinson as chose another horse in the race and Richard Johnson will be riding. With a better jockey and a 3lb pull in the weights I think this horse is a cracking EW bet @14/1 with Skybet to finish in the first 4.

Most bookies only paying 1/4 odds for 1,2,3,4. Some bookies paying 1,2,3,4,5 but VC paying are now paying 1/4 odds for 1,2,3,4,5,6 which is really good.
This horse tip is from the same guy who gave me the 20/1 horse at Cheltenham and advised me to back it each way and it came 2nd. VC now doing no runner no bet so if the horse doesn’t run then it’s a full refund.
Like anything it’s up to you if you want a bet but even £5 ew will give you £635 if it wins or £130 for a place. £120 profit for a place is decent.

John b what is your verdict on hollywell today. From what i’ve seen I think hollywell will push on and beat conti today?
Morning all was listening to talksports just now and the coral rep has said that a northern Irish ‘Mac’ double of Rory Mcilroy (masters Golf) & AP McCoy (shutthefrontdoor) is 55/1 and that it will cost the industry 56-60 million as many will be on.
Is this worth a punt in anyone’s eyes or is it the usual promotional propaganda which they spew?

I really can’t see past 5 favourites, then Conti and Vibrato Valtat today. Keeping stakes small though, as I know Aintree is a very different track to Cheltenham. I’m just happy to have some great top class racing again

Haha Jimmy
Lending what do they mean by half all EW bets? Half the stake of losing bets or half the amount of bets that are placed
Half bets that are placed Robroy I believe
That bet365 offer is great. Massive shame it’s the only bookie that I’m banned from!!!
Robroy,
To ensure that your refund is credited as quickly as possible, please only include Grand National bets on your bet slip. Refunds will be credited to your account within 12 hours of bet placement.
To add to the great value, we are also Non-Runner No Bet and paying 1/4 odds for the first FIVE places on the big race.

peter
I would not say confident as the last 4 weeks have been way below my normal strike rate – so it def affects ones confidence, there have been picks I was very confident of recently that afterwards looked very bad – so waiting for the tide to turn.

Just sticking to my system tried and tested over years and know it will come good – sooner than later I hope !
your a good honest tipster i like that the tide will turn it has to

Easy peezy nina 2 naps for me in a row yeeahaaa
Need buntline 7/1 4.40 aintree
I would imagine Silviniaco Conti might go for the King George on boxing day again and then maybe retired
he has been a good horse but just like One Man couldnt win the big one
Royal Regatta Has to be in with a chance !! 8/1 Bet365 £5 win COME ON!!!
well thats another bet fkd lol
royal regata off the bit from the start, just one of those days totally nowhere in the race
Tbone, reckless gambling. I suggest calling it quits for today.
Brilliant jb with conti . Pity ruby Walsh killed me again . Annie power all over. More nightmares
Agree with WESLEY WEST , call it quits tbone
yea i know guys but to me sticking 100 on a bet isnt that much, and im using the couple of thousand i have won since cheltenham
i wish i could do smaller stakes and just a few bets but it doesnt do it for me
i do have a problem though, i think i should stop altogether but i love horse racing too much as a sport
I apologise if that comes across patronising, I am just looking out for fellow members of this thread.
no wesley your 100% right dont worry
TAGLIETELLE for me in the last
Hi gents
Any last minute fancies for the 5.15 think call the cops is a little short.
GL all
I got on Nina with some loose change so it has been a good day. I have built up a war chest for the National in the 3 days unbelievable.

Great tipping
Dc u beauty mate – taglietelle! Cracker! Finished off a good day – cheers
Man that’s great ,nice Carberry double thanks lads ,sorry about The Alan King horse never been his biggest fan anyway.
Well taglietelle makes up for earlier losses. Its a funny old game this !!
Well good day. However with that Tagliatelle win it oozes a little niggle as miss out on 30000 as Arctic fell.
Thank you dc and john b and all your other guy’s. U’r the dogs b*******.when it comes to picks Cheers.
Cheers DC, had some on Taglietelle when I saw you had backed it, makes up for my pick getting beat at the finish and the loss on Arctic Fire.
D/C that was really bad luck but great tipping and Johnb and denzel jimmybeee all well done on to tomorrow
Just backed Alco before change my mind 25/1

What’s everyone’s National picks?
odds are shortening all the time, wanna get on early for a change.
Soll, Al Co, Raz de Maree so far I think
I’m doing soll and al co
Superb pick again JohnB – Such a shame he didn’t run like that in the Gold Cup. Also Thanks DC for your tagliatelle tip to end a good day. Shame about the Annie Power impression but can’t win them all.
Yes I am 7.20 tipp 7s into 3s with Chris Hayes on board
No probs kev! Glad i could help!
I feel your pain dc! Had siviniaco, arctic fire, on the fringe and tagliatelle four fold!
Any tips for Chelmsford tonight lads
OMG just had a nibble on Boonga Roogeta in the 6:40 25/1, biggest winner i’ve ever had 😀 thanks all the regulars for there tips throughout the day
Two tips for me tomorrow.
I can’t see past these two At aintree,
2.15 glingerburn. 100% over hurdles in 4 starts 13/8
3.25 champagne fever. 11/4 tipped by John b at Cheltenham latest when withdrawn. Massive chances tomorrow. Good luck all
Nicely done double carpet and rookie for Taglietelle, and a nice price, missed all the drama but now see dc very unlucky with Artic Fire, for 3-3.I couldn’t pick a placed horse in a 3 runner.Pennies back only for me today from Ew pick so will stick to Henderson tomorrow.Well done to everyone contributing today
Onwards
Denzel I threw some loose change at it too, £3.13 on £81.38 back, losses recouped and some profit for the day 😀
Good man WN 😉
Fantastic stuff John.
I’m new to a lot of people and only share tips when I’m 99% confident! Gios Last in the 8.10 is available at 4/1. The bookies have it wrong. He took extra weight and class last time and the bookies have made a wrong call with a drop back to C6 he can easily beat a wreak field. 4/1 available on boylesports most others 7/2
great nap AGAIN John

Just saying mate! 😉 God bless gent!
Is there going to be a separate grand national thread put up?
Bangerang, yes
All over those like a rash!!
chmpagne fever 7/2 with hills
just got an email
John B – can’t discount Cue Card in the 3.25 surely? How confident are you?
Ok thanks Scott
Paddy power are money back as a free bet if second or third on Glingerburn’s race. A nice but of extra insurance.
Haha even more confident now john b. Any write ups on them ? Been looking at these for about a week now thinking it’s great value.
Nuguchi 8/1 winner
Well done coyg!
16.50 font Crazy jack 11/8 coral and WH
11/10 PP short price but iv taken the 11/8 as i cant see it being beat
Cheers Rory
9.10 miss excellence 3/1
Excelling oscar 9.10 9/4
I pity the fool
Ocean crystal e/w in last race, get some cash for 2moro guys
Very difficult card at aintree tomorrow guys. Ive been looking at the races for the past 2 hours and still cant decide on anything yet.
dc- get on the nap 😀 well done with your picks today, I missed out on the last one by a few seconds as the race was off.
Surely Ruby owes us all big time after Annie and Today Dc!
Could have been smokin cigars in Florida had he not hit the ejector seat twice!
Johnb-would be good to see something on why you fancy Champagne Fever over Don Cossack for us mortals when you get a moment.
Kendog now that you have said that I may have to bail ship with the second pick despite backing already backing it. I was on both those horses so hopefully 3rd time lucky.
E/w trixie for tomoro
Nexius with paul townend
Qewy with AP on board
Balder success with hutchinson, deserves another chance after early mistake last time at cheltenham
I agree with you DC about it’s a difficult card.
kendog
dont remind me !!
I dont normally go against john as he is without doubt the best but i think the ground has gone against champagne fever and am looking at alternatives which means he’ll probably bolt up !!
It doesnt normally take me this long to decide on what to back but this card has me stumped. I shall keep going at it for another while anyway
DC I’m stumped too but will go with JohnB however I watched Paul Nicholls father on tv earlier saying Al Ferof was in “ridiculous form”
Yup DC, its a tricky damn card.
What’s the verdict on McCoys mounts tomorrow, any worth backing or people just backing for sentimental reasons?
My EW for tomorrow is THEATRE GUIDE..4.05 25/1,graded races proving too much, but third in the Hennessy last year and although didn’t perform at Chelt, trip and going may just surprise
GL
Dg
im leaning towards CUE CARD in that race. Risky i know but at 7/1 is ew value and conditions are perfect for him so if he turns up theres no excuses.
gl
Saphir Du Rheu 6/4
Don Cossack 4/1
Don Cossack ran a belter at Cheltenham and prob would have won only for a mistake, great stamina
I like that too dougie! And have already jumped on that as a cracking e/w bet.feel even more better now seeing as it is now dougie endorsed!
Rookie I don’t think will run out of steam unlike Bellenos, today whos trainer again said he would have performed better with a bit more cut!!
Gl truly difficult card and that’s just the Henderson horses
14.40 leic margot rose 6/1
13.40 ain pearl swan 10/1
18.50 wolv hopes n dreams 8/1
18.05 wex ancient highway 9/2
GL All.
Yeah dougie i expect the express to be in the frame perhaps along with venetia’s!
The 4.05 race is a real headwrecker but i think i may take a chance on the Gordon Elliott trained BLESS THE WINGS @ 20/1. It usually favours horses carrying 10st 12lbs or less (only 2 winners have carried more in the last 14 years) which rules out all of the so called fancied horses and im willing to go along with those stats in such a tight race. BLESS THE WINGS was 2nd to THE PACKAGE at cheltenham beaten 12 lengths over 3m 2f but was staying on as others were fading. STANDING OVATION was a further 12 lengths behind in 5th and only has a 3lb pull yet he is rated a 12/1 chance for tomorrows race. I believe in order for BLESS THE WINGS to be in with a chance he needs to be ridden more prominent and hopefully that will be the case. If nothing else he should give me a run for my money as Elliotts horses are going well.
I will also have an ew on dougies too
gl
Well, when you put it like that dc…..
Up for work tomorrow so ill post this Yankee for Aintree and hit the hay
2.15…Glingburn
2.50…Irish Cavalier
3.25…Champagne Fever(single after a no show at Cheltenham
4.40…Minella Rocco
Haha rookie
i have really spent hours on these races. It better bloody pay off !!
Ah no big bets tomorrow just want to be in with a shout
Well that’s the tricast sorted lads/Good night all
Money has come for mijhaar in yhe first 22s into 16s. Still decent e/w value possibly?
0.45 Yankee pays £440 and change
0.50 4 fold Ew pays £213 skybet the complete set o ……
Double Carpet I like your reasoning for BLESS THE WINGS.
Also I fancy BLESS THE WINGS so here’s hoping.
1 of 2 singles for me tomorrow along with an Aintree Yankee.
GL all
Glingburn and Champagne Fever two singles and a double two 10 pound singles 10 pound double
Very much so rookie. Hes on my shortlist but will decide that one tomorrow. Head pounding !!
Gl
Splash of ginge 4:05… Coz I’ve got ginger baws 22:1
4.05 Aintree
Montoyas Son EW 251.
Should be front runner and winner over 2m 4f
Hope Hargam’s in the glue factiry
MF found the trip too far today. Will have to go back to 2m4. Tommorow is an extremely tough card to pick a winner. Minella Rocco is my only real fancy for Friday. Hope champagne can win as I have a soft spot for him but in fairness there are 5/6 with a real good chance. SDG is a huge price
Tagliatelle went pasta all da horses
