IT was a hectic day and I was feeling a bit left out after the likes of Jordan, Greg and Desmond put good winners.
That left myself and Scott Allot on the naughty step. I thought I was getting out of jail with my Euro treble but Celta Vigo failed to net the winner that would have made it a just about break even day.
Luckily I was on Johnb's big winner in the big race – and anyone on this thread who hasn't spotted his form should take a look.
Scott was also unlucky – he was a goal short on his Euro treble, a goal short on his btts treble and saw a winner go in the wrong net at El Clasico.
Jordan was the star man with two bets and two winners but that honour so nearly went to Desmond who was a St Johnstone goal away from landing a 134-1 goals 7-timer.
It was a 20-21 single and 8-1 double for Jordan. Desmond's 2+ double won at 3-1 and his over 2.5 goals treble landed at 9-2. But Saints beat his both to score double and therefore his advised sevenfold.
Talking of Saints – Greg went against his team with a nap that came up thanks to Dundee United scoring in the first half. He also tipped a late goal at Bolton v Reading.
On Sunday it's all about Leicester who have the chance to go seven points clear at the top by beating Southampton. It won't be easy but I'm on the Foxes to edge it with Jame Vardy likely to be on target.
Man United v Everton is tougher to call but there should be goals and that should also be the case in the Football League Trophy between Barnsley and Oxford at Wembley with Oxford's Kemar Roofe worth a look as a scorer after his FA Cup exploits.
In Scotland Aberdeen should take care of Hamilton at home to keep the pressure on Celtic in the race for the title.
Last night I suggested my Top Treble would come from three out of Inter Milan, Napoli, Hoffenheim, Athletic Bilbao, Sevilla and Ajax. Luckily the Bilbao and Napoli games were early and they've been ruled out.
I watched highlights of Bilbao's first half against Granada and they should have been three or four up – missing a penalty and a host of chances. So to see Granada nick a point with a late equaliser was a surprise and Napoli's result at Udinese wasn't anticipated.
I'm staying with Sevilla, who have won their last 13 at home in La Liga, against struggling Sociedad and Inter who have been in good form and should outscore their rivals.
Complete the treble with Ajax to score 2+ at home to Zwolle. The leaders have netted at least two in their last six games and won 2-0 at PEC earlier in the season.
My both to score treble that starts with second v first in Austria – Rapid Vienna v Salzburg. Twelve of the last 13 meetings have seen both score as have the last six in the capital.
Add Inter v Torino which is taken more on recent form than h2h. Inter's last three have seen both score with five of their last six going over 2.5 goals. Torino games have been goal crazy recently with 10 in their last two and both have scored in four of their previous six.
Complete the treble with Lorient v Lyon. Both have scored in the last four meetings in Brittany while Lyon have banged in 11 in three and conceded in three of their last four.
For the Super Single I considered Leicester and Hoffenheim, also Villarreal at Eibar, but in the end I've plumped for Roma at Lazio.
Roma won eight Serie A matches in a row before losing to Real Madrid in the Champions League then drawing at home to Inter.
They should get bacl on track against city rivals Lazio whose coach Stefano Pioli has an injury headache with five defenders out including regulars Santiago Gentiletti, Stefan Radu and Abdoulay Konko. Midfielder Ricardo Kishna is also missing and Sergej Milinkovic-Savic and Dusan Basta are doubts.
There is always a risk taking a result in a derby but Roma are undefeated in five against Lazio and have won their last four away matches. Roma have no new injury problems and it could be an emotional day for Francesco Totti who is likely to given some game time for what is likely to be his last derby.

I flagged up Hartlepool to win yesterday against mansfield at 9/5 and they duly obliged with a fairly comfortable 2-1 win. Pools now turn their attention to a derby away at carlisle on tuesday night. Pools play their best football counter attacking and will playing the same way on tuesday against carlisle who always have goals in their home games. Pools‘ last 4 away games since the new manager took over have seen them win 2 and draw 2 with an impressive 2-0 win at playoff contenders leyton orient and that scoreline flattered orient. Craig Hignett has got the players training properly and playing with freedom and are still unbeaten since he took over. We have gone from 3rd bottom and looking like we could go down to 17th and challenging to get mid table ( which doesnt sound much but for us its alot!!) in the space 6 or 7 matches. Theres also a bit of niggle between us and carlisle from last year when they were 3-0 up with half an hour left and we come back and drew 3-3 and earlier in the season we were beaten 3-2 at home but we were a poor side then so over 2.5 goals at 10/11 could be a good shout. After seeing the transformation under our new boss il be on Pools to win at 16/5 but 10/11 double chance looks a good bet aswell.

The A-league merry-go-round continues this morning with Roar looking for 3 extremely valuable points against a poor travelling Jets side who’ve only picked up 3 wins in 11 away games this season. A Roar win will boost them back to the top after Adelaide’s win over Sydney yesterday.
At home Roar score an average of just under 2.5 team goals per game and 76% of all their league games go over 2.5 total goals. Surprisingly – Roar have a poor record at home to Jets, having beaten them only 4 times in 17! I have a suspicion Jets may score with Roar’s leaky defence but it’s difficult to find value in the goals market for this game so I’m going to take a stab at the corners market. Roar really need to win this game with a tough final game before the playoffs away to Melbourne Victory – they’ll need to go for it, but the H2H stats indicate Jets might be in the game more than the bookies suggest (queue the 5-0 drubbing!).
With Roar likely to score a couple of goals here and MacLaren in hot form this season – I think he’ll notch again today to have any chance of keeping up with a quality Fornaroli. Not the best odds for an anytime goalscorer tip, but I’ll take it seeing as he’s scored in 72% of Roar’s games this season…

Two teams in with a shout of getting those two automatic final series positions gives prospects of a good encounter here. Should Roar go on to defeat the Jets (which I think they will) – City can leapfrog them into top spot with a win over Glory, whilst it’s a big ask for Glory – there’s still a possibility of them getting an automatic final series place too – even though their playoff status is secure.
Tough one to call here in the WDW market with both teams in good form, and similar to the Roar v Jets goals market, I can’t find a great deal of value. 22 from 25 of City’s games in the A-league have gone over the 2.5 goal mark – they’re by far the highest scoring team in the A-league this season and do concede a fair few too. Glory are reputable at home having lost only 2 in 12 at nib but scored a bag full. H2H is good viewing for us goal seekers – having seen 18 goals from the past 4 meetings…this game screams goals galore, so I’m banking on that trend to continue.
In my opinion we’ve never seen a better City side – they’re smashing the goals in with an average of 2.44 goals per game with the trend being at least two on average for every home AND away game – so I wouldn’t put it past them to get 2 here. Fornaroli is on absolute fire this season having scored 22 times in 25 of their games, fantastic record and I wouldn’t put it past him to score again here today.

Bit off-topic but just a general question. I’ve been using Oddschecker for years now, but I now find myself increasingly cross referencing their best prices against those of several other bookies they don’t cover.
Does anyone know of a coverall alternative?
I’ve checked around online but am not really finding one that has a wider spread and offers an app.
Anyone know of one that fits the bill?

robertc, the only two I use are oddshecker and betrescue. Both have around 20 bookies so there are many who won’t be there and it’s not cheap to be featured either.
We have purchased a small odds comparison site. A lot of work is needed before we relaunch it but hopefully in time for next season with some firms not on oddschecker and we’ll have it on the site.

Mr F, how about an optional template underneath the reply box. It could have points staked, points returned and points profit. Also previous months profit. It could remember the numbers from the previous post for the user. It would standardise and make it easier to post and read points totals. Like fiasco has done above and like Jodan does.

However, most people don’t like putting up points and I won’t pressurise anyone to do so.
If you follow the thread regularly you will know who to follow.
Imv the headline tippers should have points totals and stats. Ie Greg and Scott. Jordan keeps a great monthly record and yours is there for all to see. Keeping totals helps – certainly in terms of discipline is its all there In a public forum that’s the way it should be. No hiding.

Stats are good to see but often over-rated – what’s much more important is the next tip.
On the racing Johnb puts stats up every month and because he had a losing run at the turn of the year people were asking for him to be stood down.
That was ridiculous and look at his current stats.
Imo it should be left for individuals to choose I keep my totals but they are not for the benefit of others who might follow my tips they are for my benefit so I can keep a record of how well I’m doing or not doing. Regardless of who puts the tips up and how good or bad their stats are you should always judge the tips for yourself. Yesterday I did not fancy mr f super. Single so I did not bet today I liked it so I had a nice bet on it
I just cant be bothered with putting stats bets won bets lost etc as i bet alot inplay and the odd occasion there is time to put here, the majority may miss it. I just try to explain when got time why i have chosen that bet. If the stats back it up then no one can complain really if it loses. Everyone of us has a good run and a bad run were only human
Mr F, thanks for responding. What I would disagree with here that is your next tip is the lost important. It’s not. A staking plan and consistent win to loss or loss to win ratio is key. You cannot make consistent profit by chasing an oh ok my next bet will be a winner.
I appreciate the effort everyone involved with the site makes and i have learnt a fair bit from the likes of Jordan, Greg etc etc.
I’m not trying to hold anyone accountable I just truly believe you are more likely to make profit if you start with small stakes, think carefully and try to break even on any given day. A Record of what I have done takes me a minute or three to scan through and tot up the day before.
I would never advocate following anyone. In fact I said don’t follow my tips when I first posted – I’m not a pro. No one really is in my view, maybe on other sports but not football.
As far as having ten bets a day. Nothing wrong with that. People do follow these threads and as long as people post enough winners to make profit then happy days. One bet wins great. Ten win – greater. Amazing record you have Jordan but one could argue you would be a hell of a lot more units up if you had all yesterday’s bets as singles ?
