WE'RE counting down the days to the end of the season and in the main I'm concentrating on games that mean something for the teams concerned.

With many meaningless matches it's not the easiest of cards and of course there is also tonight's FA Cup semi-final between Man United and Everton to look forward to.

I'll post separate previews on the Scottish and English games and there is a Bet of the Day for members as I go for five out of six winners.

Last night my Super Single and Top Treble lost me 2pts but over the week I've managed to manouvre both totals into profit and hopefully that's where it stays over the weekend.

If Cambridge win I may add another Super Single or Euro treble later. Tips from Jordan, Greg, Scott and Desmond are up so check them out.

Remember to check out We Love Betting for their latest tips and video chat.

There are a couple of teams in the Championship I like the look of tomorrow. The first being QPR, playing a Reading side who have lost 4 on the bounce. Although QPR have just 1 win their last 5, 3 of those have been away from home and their home form is completely different winning 4 from their last 5. Haven’t decided if ill take them to win at 13/10 or over 1.5 t’s at 6/5.

Brentford also look good value at 17/10 to beat a MK Dons team who haven’t won in their last 8! Brentford on the other hand have 4 wins and a draw in their last 5. The only thing I can see to argue against them is MK Dons have a lot more to play for as a loss will all but see them being relegated.

    • Mr Fixit 8 years ago

sam c, as you say MK Dons have more motivation and did get a point at Sheff Wed last week although by all accounts they were battered.

  4. nathanufton 8 years ago

My Derby preview should be up around an hour before kickoff ( 11.30am ). I’ve been nosing around pulling off a few stats and this televised early kickoff could set the foundation stone for a few nice little acca’s. The stats/form are looking good and the signs in the Derby camp seem to be following an expected script. I’ll reply to this thread with my morning post to keep it all in one place.

    • Mr Fixit 8 years ago

nathanufton, as you see I’ve gone for a draw – should be a close one.

    • nathanufton 8 years ago

      Derby team news:

1 change, this time its Thorne ill, but the big news is Will Hughes back in the starting 11. I’ve been saying for a while how our returning players have given us that extra edge.

      Carson
      Christie/Keogh/Shackell/Olsen
      Butterfield
      Hughes/Bryson
      Ince/Martin/Russell

Its all about Momentum, 5 wins from 6, 4 straight wins, whilst Sheff Wed lost badly against Bristol, drew MK Dons + Ipswich so they’re suffering a wobble at the wrong time and we’re not. There is a danger the foot will be taken off the gas, and we’d implode like last year. Well, I’ve predicted 4 straight wins and steered you all towards one or two extra bits too.
Sheff Wed need points to guarantee 6th, but they face Cardiff next time out. Derby still believe they can end up above Hull but want to build as much momentum as possible in the lead up to the playoff’s. Before Sheff Wed drew and had Ross Wallace sent off on Tuesday I’d of anticipated a very close win for the rams but looking at current form for both teams, who we/they have played and various other bits and bobs and I’m thinking this could be a comfortable win for Derby.

Sheff Wed have had a 3 nil away win to Forest in 7 matches and that’s about it, no wins in 3 but the rest of their points were not exactly against tough opponents. They’ve also only scored 4 times against top 6 teams this season.

Derby have had a 4 nil against the tightest defence in the league Hull, A 4-1 against Bolton who may of decided they wanted to stay in the league ( that never materialised ), Charlton was a tough game – that was settled by a 1 nil, we’ve won the local Derby at home to forest and had 5 wins from 6, and 5W/1L/1D in 7.
Forestieri is their biggest goal threat with 15 and hi strike partner has 10 or 11. Derbys front 3 have 36 between them including Martin on 15 and Russell has been on fire with 4 goals in the last 3 outings.

I expect a straight Derby win, that pays around 11/10 – evens with bet365, but we need to make a good quick start – we’ve been a 2nd half strong finisher this past 6-8 games – which is always nice to have in the locker. It looks like Sheff Wed are playing 4-4-2 but if we make a good start, I’m inclined to again do a split stake strategy, half on the straight win, half on a -1 h/c. The win pays for both bets, the -1 would give you an 11/4 with bet365.

I picked out Ince last time to notch and got it right, this time I’m plumping for an in form Johnny Russell to net at any time. Martin is still being a nuisance in the 18 yard box, but the left wing crossed are ALL bypassing Martin and Russell’s always there on the back post. He was around 9/4 – 21/10 yesterday but I’m confident he’ll be in amongst the goals today.

With Burnley winning yesterday, Brighton, Borough, Derby in a nice little treble. I had considered adding Burton as my 2nd fav team but their form needs steadying before they get added to an acca.

      Best of luck guys.

    • nathanufton 8 years ago

Some price changes: Derby now evens, the -1 h/c has dropped from 11/4 to 12/5 and Russell to score at anytime is 21/10. How the bookies have Darren Bent down at 7/4 to net at any time is boll*&Ks. He’s getting no matchtime and I expect him gone come July.

    • nathanufton 8 years ago

Chris Martin is currently on 99 league goals, he’s had a shot at goal already and is 6/4 to net at anytime to bring up the ton.

    • Mr Fixit 8 years ago

nathanufton, good write-up and enjoy the game.

    Main bets-
Auxerre v Dijon over 2.5 match goals 21/20
Mansfield v Barnet over 2.5 match goals 17/20

Summary: Auxerre are not shy at finding the net on home soil, only failing twice in 17! Their opponents sit currently top of the summit, and are the leading scorers away from home , scoring in all bar 1 game on their travels! Excellent value 21/20.

Summary: Mansfield have appointed Murray as player manager, and results prove at present this to be a popular choice. The Stags have won their last 3 scoring 10, and are harbouring hopes of hijacking the playoffs. The bees under Martin Allen enjoy a good tear up, and this encounter I believe will produce cards, but I’m looking for goals and Barnet have scored in all of last 7 games. Odds a touch tight but I’m taking it!

    Small stakes-
NURNBERG-1 8/5 ( Union conceded 3 at Leipzig and Freiburg without scoring)
BRECHIN 21/20 – home form outstanding, if there is a market for goal scorer, THOMSON your man.
GREEN to score at anytime ( Mansfield) 6/4
BOGNOR REGIS Ht Ft 4/5 ( sorry bullseye, hope I haven’t stole your thunder)
Gl luck all with bets, my only advice would be show a touch of caution today, it’s a tough card with much at stake!

  9. HullShaker 8 years ago

    Morning gents,

Night Owl was a loser with Patronata failing to score a second goal in the 84 minutes after their first. Also the Osasco v Diadema in-play fell a goal shy of the 4 needed to see a 5 point loss on the night.

Onwards and I posted my main selection on Thursday:

    ACCRINGTON STANLEY VS. YORK CITY:

It’s been a belting season for Accy and fair play – they’ve a budget smaller than any other English League team.

Sitting second top to tearaway leaders Northampton, Stanley won’t be looking to lose any ground to Oxford, Plymouth and Bristol who are all breathing down their neck to claim automatic promotion.

Unbeaten in 8 and with 2+ team goals in 14 of their last 27, Accrington are non too shabby.

However, they are not the most solid defensive outfit and 24 of their last 37 games have seen BTTS.

    Throw this into the mix…

York have seen BTTS in 20 of their last 27 games with 24 of the last 37 seeing Over 2.5 goals.

    Selections:

    OVER 2.5 MGS…3/4
    (4 Points)

    OVER 3.5 MGS…2/1
    (1 Point)

    BTTS & OVER 2.5 MGS…6/4
    (2 Points)

Have also taken the 4 most likely looking games for goals in the Northern Prem to see Over 2.5 mgs:

    GRANTHAM
    RAMSBOTTOM
    RUSHALL
    WORKINGTON

    4-Fold pays 4.14/1
    (1 Point)

Good luck with all bets ?

    Chuac Lun vs Benfica Macau

A quick glance at the stats would would suggest a very one sided goal galore hammering game in favour of the away side.

God help my boys today if RHODES and NUGENT start!???????

    BORO v IPSWICH
If they start , Rhodes to score anytime 4/5 / Nugent to score anytime 11/10.

    • nathanufton 8 years ago

I noticed when stat trawling yesterday, Nugent and Rhodes have somewhat been misfiring, neither have hit double figures yet. Borough to be in the top 2 without a 15-20 goal striker shows goals can come from anywhere. So I guess it has its advantages.

    • warktheline 8 years ago

@nathanufton, it’s their goal scoring exploits against Ipswich. History plays a part, Keane when at Ipswich sold Rhodes , in return the boy scores against us for fun , as for Nugent, he turned down a move to Ipswich, and Town fans boo him ever time he plays, in return he scores for fun against Town!????

    • hampy 8 years ago

rhodes has scored 3 in last 2 games. tells me he wants to push the team up to get into prem finally. He probably could of jumped the gun a few years back but hes looking to do it the hard way. The squad does share the goals out though probably more than any other squad up there but il be on

    • Mr Fixit 8 years ago

hampy, Rhodes is off and running after a slow start at Boro and for Scotland’s sake let’s hope he gets a chance to show what he can do in the Premier League next season.
Right, I’m off to see Clydebank v Largs – a big game in the race for promotion.

    ___________________________

Atletico have a massive game midweek but also can’t afford to take their foot off the gas domestically so I expect them to do just enough today to get the 3 points as they usually do at home. None of those distractions for Dortmund who should heap more misery on Stuttgart while hoping Bayen take their eye off the ball. Lugano continue to struggle so I think Sion can take the 3 points at home where they have the 3rd best record in the league. Its been a poor season in the Synot Liga for Jablonec with just 7 wins in 25 and too many draws but I feel they can win at home today where they have showed signs of improvement taking 10 points from the last 4 games there. Slovacko are the visitors today and don’t travel well. Finally the last match in Portugal and if the bet is still alive by then I need Sporting to win by more than goal. They are going strong and I have high confidence they will win, as the bookies do too, but I think they have goals in them so can do it by more than a goal.

Best of luck with your bets today

For those who don’t have eyes on the Derby game, Derby made a bright start and threatened a couple of times in the early stages, then Sheff Wed had a couple of half chances. Hughes for Derby had made 2 key tackles in our back 1/3. Then Sheff Wed had a spell of maybe 8-10 mins where they’ve had much of the ball.
Forestieri took a knock and I thought he may be subbed, but he’s still on the pitch. Hughes unsurprisingly got booked around 16-17 mins.
Sheff Wed have been moving the ball well, margainally better than Derby. Brysons had a 25 pile driver slightly too high – shame it would of been the goal of the season.
Both teams defending well, but its end to end. No clear team is edging it yet.

I’d like Derby to be a bit quicker passing in the last 1/3 but Martin is staying central to the penalty spot. Ince is firing those crosses in and Russell is coming in late on the back post.

A good match to watch for any neutral.

    • shortee 8 years ago

      @nathanufton

keep them great match reports coming !!

    • nathanufton 8 years ago

Sure, no probs. Both sides defensively are coping quite well but I’ve seen some really nice movement in Sheff Weds box from Derby in the last 10-12 mins of the first half.
The stats for the match are all in Derbys favour having you believe its one-sided but it isn’t as clear cut as that.
Hughes is back with a bang, his first starting 11 since the opening day of the season and as per the script he’s like a terrier – always under your feet. He’s having a very good game, he seems like he’s taking up Thornes holding role when I felt pre-kickoff that would fall to Butterfield who’s more like for like with Hughes creative spark being used in the middle of the pitch. That is the one change I’d make to the Derby side and I’d keep the rest exactly the same.

I’ve said for weeks now that Derby are a 2nd half side and with Sheff Wed getting their defence in place when we’re attacking very quickly, its going to take a spark of magic for this match to open up.

I’ve noticed corners for both – slightly better for Derby are starting to come in, possibly consider an over corners in-play bet.

We also need more from Bryson.

    • nathanufton 8 years ago

Tight penalty call for Derby gone missed, Derby countering at pace, 3 yellows in this match so far and the whole game is lifting a notch.
One goal could open this game up.

    • nathanufton 8 years ago

8 corners total 1st half, theres already been 6 this 2nd half.

    • nathanufton 8 years ago

Russell not flagged for offside just missed a sitter and Brysons had a solid shot saved.

    • nathanufton 8 years ago

Its starting to be quite one sided in Derbys favour. Sheff Weds defence still unbreached.

    • nathanufton 8 years ago

Goal out of nothing, can’t believe it. 1 nil Sheff Wed.

    • richb20806 8 years ago

Never been so happy to see a derby goal… Keeps my own little challenge going ?

    • shortee 8 years ago

      get in there derby

      @nathanufton

    • nathanufton 8 years ago

Lol. Bent, 1st touch. couldn’t log in for a sec there. Ince and Butterfield off for Blackman and Bent. Bent pops up and gets Derby’s first. Glad to see we’re back in it.
Meanwhile, todays yellow cards sponsored by Clinton’s Cards.

    • kyle b 8 years ago

What was that you were saying about Darren Bent ;)

    • nathanufton 8 years ago

I know, its that kind of game. Up to 8 yellows now and corners have dried up a little, not as frequent.

    • nathanufton 8 years ago

1 each, 9 yellows, 16 corners but no Derby winner. It was pretty much end to end and Derby had margainally more clear cut chances to win it. Sadly no winning tips from me today, so apologies to everyone on that.
Good game to watch on tv later for neutrals. The only saving grace for anyone having this match on their acca’s is theres 30 mins before the full card resumes. Best of luck everyone and I hope the rest of the games fall better for you.

I’m guessing judging by how many draws have occurred in the championship over this weekend ( everyone but 1 ), We can’t be too downhearted that the results went the way they did. Great week to be a bookie, bad week to be a punter.

  93. HullShaker 8 years ago

Night Owl and a half-decent card for this evening/early hours.

LANÚS VS. BANFIELD – no time for reasoning as just heading out but top side Lanus should run out clear victors – the recent H2H saw Lanus win 0-2 away.

    Three selections:

    Over 1.5 Lanus tgs…4/5
    (2.5 Points)

    OVER 2.5 MGS…11/10
    (2.5 Points)

    OVER 3.5 MGS…11/4
    (1 Point)

  95. 8 years ago

Hilarious! Put 80 on Utd to win 156 and cashed out for 14 quid in the 89th minute and then Martial goes and scores. We build again.

      bet 19
      Put €14 on Barca -3
      pays 24

Hopefully no more surprises for Barca this season

Been there myself mate before but now let bets run if cover isn’t worth it,know your pain, had so many late goals especially the S.American games that I let it ride

Ah cheers. Never gonna do a cashout again.(only 2nd time ever cashing out actually) All I hear on here is never cashout. Another lesson learnt on here.

      put €24.50
      on Hulls LANÚS o1.5tgs
      pays €42

      GL all

    • markus 8 years ago

Feel for you. I’ve been there. What I’ve found is, that the loss incurred by letting it ride and losing is FAR better for the mood than cashing out and watching it land. It is just about the worst feeling in the world :) I also had united in an acca. Needless to say I let it ride, but you don’t wanna hear about that

      Couldn’t agree more

Thanks Markus. I’m a glass half full sorta guy, so I’m down 38 quid for the day and not that 100+ from that dumbass cashout incident. Onto tomorrow we go.

Is anyone considering backing Corinthians tonight?

They are at home in the paulista and have won their last 9 home games only conceding 2 goals.

-1AH is evens which is pretty good value

They played midweek, won 6-0 but I’m wary when odds are that good on leagues I’m not sure on,I’m on over 2.5gls@even money as the team they are playing aren’t shy in front of goal, again btts is even money&btts&over is 6/4,just have to go with your gut DOM,best of luck whatever you choose

    • petet 8 years ago

I know little about the South American football other than cards cards and cards are given by the bucketload (and they change games!)

Goals seem to be far more reliable than WDW (even more so in S/America) but if you don’t know much about that market I’d stick by following the tried and tested people on here like we discussed the other night mate.

    • dom77 8 years ago

Im not thinking of going big or anything but corinthians are pretty good defensively at home.

The odds do seem a bit more generous for SA games whichbis strange considering lots of teams are predictabley strong at home.

  99. harrybaines 8 years ago

    Barcelona btts. @3.40

  100. Alves 8 years ago

Well never seen the rangers score coming and total bliw out today by it. Only got Valencia game btts/overs and 2+ 4fold still to go.

  101. andrzejstarba 8 years ago

Have a few bets picked out for tomorrow –

    Juventus at 2.15
Juventus -1 asian handicap at 4.00

Reason being I believe that Juve can secure Serie A title tomorrow and Fiorentina have been in poor form and Juventus should have too much for them.

Athletic Bilbao – over 1.5 team goals – at 2.25 – reason being Levante have just conceded 5 goals to relegation boys Granada and also had a player sent off and morale will be low. Bilbao should have too much for their leaky defence.

  102. theboss 8 years ago

Any one else watching Barca game?!

Wow 3 pens! I got in Suarez hatick at 4/1 never thought it was coming at all at 65 mins and boom he scores 3!

  103. harrybaines 8 years ago

ABSOLUTELY SHOCKING!!! Barca ref must be up there arse. 1st and second goal should of been disallowed and the other 3 goals three very very soft pens.

    FUMING

Very unfair from that ref down there, he was Barca’s 12th man. Wouldn’t mind him if I had -5 bet though

    • markus 8 years ago

I had them -4. Very happy about the dear ole ref ?

    • Alves 8 years ago

Was looking at barca over 3.5 2/1 & 11/2 for 4.5 but never took it, that was at ht and just went for barca gl before

  104. Alves 8 years ago

I was on a few gls bets Inplay boss plus psg rt9 at 5/1, fiver on and kept sticking it all on. Got up to 54.11 and banked 50, 4.11 on over 2.0 gls at eibar

I’ve got a bet running where I do all games in a certain league to have over 2.5mgls,this week I’m on all Mexican Prem games,2 already in&6 still to go,excluding tomorrow evenings game at Puebla
£5 returns £575,leagues like chile,Dutch, paraguay ,Aussie etc,fun bet but most of the time there are plenty of goals in those leagues

CD JUVENTUD U20 VS. ISIDRO METAPÁN U20:

      *44 mgs in Juventud’s last 9 games – 33 in Metapan’s last 9

    • primetime 8 years ago

Hello @hullshaker, is it still worth jumping on the Lanus game with that red card? Match goals rather than Lanus team goals maybe?

    • HullShaker 8 years ago

Evening primetime, It’d be poor counsel to say yes mate – early, early red could well have shafted this one completely…advise to keep your powder dry mate.

      Advice taken. Thank you sir!
