The Round of 16 at Wimbledon begins this Sunday, with some brilliant matchups headlining day seven of the tournament. We break down the best odds and outline three betting recommendations ahead of the day's play starting today.
Best Wimbledon Predictions Today
Here are our top betting suggestions for day seven of Wimbledon as fourth round action begins.
Medvedev vs Dimitrov to Be Four Sets @ 11/8
The fourth round brings some tight encounters on Sunday at Wimbledon, and Daniil Medvedev vs Grigor Dimitrov is one of them.
These two have met 10 times previously on the ATP Tour. Medvedev leads the head-to-head 7-3, though the pair have split their last two meetings. Playing on grass gives Dimitrov a slight advantage compared to other surfaces, courtesy of the Bulgarian’s prowess on the surface.
We expect this match will be tight, with both players winning at least one set. Neither have been entirely convincing over the past week, with two sets dropped each including Dimitrov coming back from two sets to love down in the second round.
Bet on this one going to four, regardless of who prevails.
Gauff to Beat Navarro 2-0 @ 8/11
Americans Coco Gauff and Emma Navarro square off in the women’s Round of 16 this Sunday as well. Navarro has impressed so far in London, taking down the former No.1 Naomi Osaka in the loss of just five games in the second round. More recently, she was pushed to a decider by Diane Shnaider.
Gauff, on the other hand, has been nothing but business at Wimbledon. She’s one of the favourites for the title at SW19, and is playing that way, running through her first three matches for the loss of just 10 games.
We expect Gauff to continue her red-hot form and win another one-sided match against Navarro on Sunday. The pair met earlier this year in Auckland, and Gauff prevailed for the loss of just four games. Given the form she’s in this week, there’s no reason to believe it’ll be any different here.
Lulu Sun to Defeat Raducanu @ 4/1
Finally, young Kiwi Lulu Sun is having the tournament of her life. The New Zealander has been a giant slayer so far, knocking out Australian Open finalist Qinwen Zheng earlier this Wimbledon and backing it up again in the last round.
Now, we think she’ll take out 21-year-old Emma Raducanu. The Brit is playing great tennis and is the heavy favourite. However, she’s been poor under pressure over recent years. Expectations of the British public will be swelling for her to make a deep run this Wimbledon.
With Sun playing with no expectations and the weight of a nation on Raducanu’s shoulders, we say the Kiwi will cause another big upset today.
